Chapter 11
Brayden subconsciously breathed out a sigh of relief.
At this moment, he wasn’t even sure if he was releved because Lindsay had come to clarify for Scarlett, or if it was because the fact that she had come proved that she cared about him.
However, he didn’t see her when he got to the door. Instead, a man in a suit was standing there.
“Mr. Hart,” Kenneth said politely. “I’m Ms. York’s lawyer. I’ve come to attend the press conference on her behalf today.”
Brayden’s expression turned cold. “Where is she?
Kenneth smiled. “Ms. York is unable to come.”
Unable to come? Brayden’s brow furrowed. Was she sick?
Come to think of it, she had seemed unusually pale when he’d seen her today. He was about to ask further when the Yorks came out.
They looked grim when they saw that Lindsay hadn’t come.
“What does Lindsay mean by this? Why did she send a lawyer to fob us off? Is she trying to make the media misunderstand?” Azalea asked.
“Whatever. At this point, we have no choice but to let the lawyer clarify on her behalf. Otherwise, the reporters out there are going to have a field day!” Laurence exclaimed.
They were right. At this point, both the Yorks and Brayden assumed that Lindsay had sent a lawyer to speak on her behalf and confirm that Scarlett was her biological sister.
Kenneth didn’t explain and just walked onto the stage. “Hello, everyone. I’m Ms. Lindsay York’s representative lawyer, Kenneth.”
He got straight to the point. “I came here today to make two announcements. The first is that Ms. York is going to cut all ties with the York family. From now on, she will have nothing to do with them.”
