Chapter 15

Brayden stopped in his tracks.

Laurence hung up and looked anxiously at him. “Bad news, Brayden. Unis has suddenly terminated all of its partnerships with us! The Harts, too!”

Brayden’s expression changed at once.

Unis was a huge conglomerate. Both the Yorks and the Harts received more than half their

business from them.

If Unis terminated their partnerships, they would be at risk of bankruptcy.

Over the next few days, Brayden was occupied with dealing with Unis Group while also looking for Lindsay.

He had thought that she was just throwing a fit, and she would be back after a few days.

However, several days passed, and she still wasn’t back.

Brayden called Darren again. “Are you sure that Lindsay didn’t go to Taronta?”

Darren answered, “I checked all the flights that day, and Mrs. Hart’s name wasn’t on any of them. There was only one private plane, and I couldn’t get the passenger list for that.”

Brayden was startled. A private plane?

The Yorks wouldn’t have let Lindsay use their private plane, and his hadn’t been touched. Therefore, Lindsay couldn’t have been on it.

However, Brayden was still worried. He was thinking that he should still make a trip to

Taronta when Laurence called.

“Brayden! Mr. Hernan and his manager are bringing his wife and daughter to Hulania in two days. This is our chance!”

The Hernan family was one of the richest Hulanian conglomerates in Yerope.

Brayden had previously investigated and discovered that the Hernans were the ones financing

Unis Group.

Brayden had tried to get a private meeting with the head of Unis, but it was to no avail.

Now that the Hernans were coming, it would be his best chance.

Brayden finally gave up on the idea of searching for Lindsay.

Three days later, the Hernans held a banquet at the biggest hotel in the city center. Almost everyone who had any influence in Hulania was in attendance.

Scarlett had come as Brayden’s date, along with Laurence and Azalea.

When they got out of their car and saw the long line of luxury cars snaking along in front of them, they were awed.

Brayden’s friends had also come. “Damn, as expected of the Hernans! It’s so grand!”

“I heard that they brought their daughter along this time. She’s the Hernans’ only successor, which makes her a true princess. I can’t wait to see what a beauty she is!”

While they all chattered about the Hernan heiress, Brayden turned and saw a familiar blond and blue-eyed man.

The man walked over and smiled at Brayden. “We meet again, Mr. Hart.”

Brayden’s expression immediately turned icy. “What are you doing here?”

It was the foreigner, Marcel, who had been with Lindsay.

Marcel smiled and handed over his name card. He said in fluent Hulanian, “We met in such a rush previously that I didn’t have time to introduce myself. My name is Marcel Dubois, Unis Group’s manager. Today, we can talk about the withdrawal of our funds.”

Beside them, Laurence asked quickly, “Brayden, you know someone from Unis?”

Brayden looked grim. “I once met him when he was with Lindsay.”

Laurence and Azalea were flabbergasted. They clearly hadn’t expected Lindsay to know someone as important as the manager of Unis Group.

Laurence seemed to realize something. “Wait a minute, Mr. Dubois. Did your sudden decision to terminate the partnerships with the Harts and our family have anything to do with Lindsay?

Marcel raised an eyebrow, but before he could speak, Laurence said urgently, “Mr. Dubois, don’t know what kind of nonsense that ingrate Lindsay said to you, but don’t believe a word of it! She’s just jealous of her sister and throwing a fit!”

Laurence began to feel more convinced the more he spoke.

After all, Unis Group had worked with them for so long, and their partnerships had always gone well. Unis Group had always been generous. They couldn’t possibly have terminated all their partnerships with them for no reason.

However, it would make sense if Lindsay were closely connected to the person in charge at

Unis Group.

Lindsay must have slandered the Yorks’ company after suddenly cutting ties with them. That must be why Unis Group had suddenly terminated the partnership!

The more he thought about it, the angrier Laurence became, and he began sounding even

more unpleasant. “Lindsay is just worthless trash! Not only does she consistently cause trouble for the family, but she’s even interfering in our business! What an ingrate! When she gets back, I’ll beat her to death!”

Marcel’s expression turned as cold as ice when he heard this. “Mr. York, if you keep being so rude, don’t blame me for what I’ll do.

“I was planning to withdraw funds slowly because I was worried that your cash flow wouldn’t be sufficient. However, if you dare to say another word, I’ll withdraw everything and bankrupt you immediately!”

When the Yorks and Brayden saw that Marcel had defended Lindsay without hesitation, they were stunned.

Finally, Scarlett scoffed. “Mr. Dubois, unless my memory is faulty, aren’t you just the of Unis?”

She said coldly, “You’re not the real owner of Unis, yet you misused your authority for Lindsay and canceled our partnership. Aren’t you afraid that your clients will get angry?

“Are you going to give up your livelihood for a woman? What is your relationship with Lindsay?”

Scarlett glanced at Brayden, who was beside her. As she had expected, his expression had turned grim.

Brayden clenched his fists. He hadn’t seen Lindsay for days, and he had no idea where she had gone.

They weren’t divorced yet. Once the banquet ended, he was determined to find her and settle the score with her.
