Chapter 12
“My life is none of your business. You don’t deserve that privilege,” Liana said.
“You” Logan snapped.
Logan never imagined that in just two days, Liana’s tongue could sharpen this much. Every word dug straight into his ribs. His face darkened to an ugly shade, and he bit out each syllable like it hurt him to speak.
“Liana, I’m warning you for the last time. If you dare take this case, we’ll divorce,” Logan said, his stare locked onto her.
He thought the threat would work like it always had. He thought the word “divorce” would hit right where it hurt, forcing her to fold. She had loved him to the bone. She would never accept losing him.
Instead of the panic he expected from her, what he heard was a soft, amused laugh.
Liana’s eyes lit the world.
“Fine,” she said.
Logan froze.
up, bright as a blade catching sunlight, as if he had offered her the best gift in
Lucinda couldn’t hold back anymore. In all her years, she had never met a man quite this shameless.
“Mr. Young, you truly have broadened my horizons.”
Her voice dripped with contempt. “You parade your mistress into your home, drive out your rightful wife, and still dare speak to her like this? You call yourself a man?”
“I didn’t!” Logan snapped instantly.
He wouldn’t allow Olivia to be labeled the mistress. He shot Lucinda a cold look, his tone turning sharp. “Mrs. Lynch, you have no idea what’s actually going on. Stop meddling in matters that are between us.”
Liana let out a short laugh. It was too ridiculous. Too absurd.
Logan was actually defending Olivia openly, right in front of her mother-in-law.
Did he even realize what he was doing?
She was done watching this farce. She simply held out her hand toward him.
“Enough. Did you sign the divorce agreement? Give it to me.”

Logan’s brows pulled tight. What game was she playing?
He had mentioned Olivia in front of her many times before. Sometimes she’d get upset, but she always softened, always reminded herself they were just siblings. A few careless sweet words from him and she would be right back at his side, calling him “darling” in a soft voice.
Before this, she had never once said the word “divorce” to him.
But ever since she woke up after nearly drowning at the resort, she had changed completely.
The transformation ran deep, from the inside out.
A word she had never dared to mention before was now something she had thrown at him countless times in just a few days.
Lucinda looked at the man in front of her, a man who refused to listen to reason and seemed incapable of understanding anything. Saying another sentence to him felt like a waste of
breath.
