Sleeping With the Wrong Man: Uncle vs. Nephew novel Chapter 28

Chapter 28

Leland said, “Look who decided to show up. You’re a real rarity around here.”

Leland leaned back with one leg crossed over another, teasing Silas, “Usually, you’ll ghost me even if I ask you out hundreds of times. Did pigs start flying today or something? You actually had the time to invite me out?”

Silas ignored Leland’s nonsense, merely focusing his full attention on his phone.

On it was the digital copy of the contract that Liana had just sent.

He skimmed through it quickly. Despite all the complex legal terms, the logic was airtight, and every responsibility was clearly laid out. There wasn’t a single exploitable loophole, showing that Liana had cleanly eliminated every potential future business risk.

It was better than anything produced by the elite legal team at his company, which was being paid millions every year.

Silas raised an eyebrow slightly, and there was a glint of satisfaction in his eyes. He sent Liana a message.

“Well done.”

After a moment’s thought, Silas added another line. “The position of Chief Legal Counsel at my company is always open for you. Name your salary. Think it over.”

This was the third time he’s given her that offer.

But Liana replied almost instantly, once again with her impeccable, diplomatic corporate language. She politely deflected the situation and declined his offer.

Silas frowned tightly.

Three times.

She had rejected him three times.

Liana was an unrefined diamond. Yet, instead of cherishing her, Logan had kept her trapped at home and wasted three whole years of her life.

Leland said, “Hey, what are you staring at? You look like you’re about to get sucked into that phone!”

Seeing Silas being so transfixed by the screen, Leland waved a hand impatiently in front of his face. “Are we still hanging out, or not? I ditched several gorgeous women to spend time with you!”

Silas put his phone away and looked up at Leland calmly. “How’s your diaper project going?”

His words were like a precision strike right at Leland’s heart.

The assistant standing behind Silas, Hughie Chandler, couldn’t stop his mouth from twitching slightly at the mention of that diaper project.

He silently said to himself that Silas really knew how to hit where it hurt.
