Chapter 29
“Hey, back to business. What’s going on with your nephew Logan and his wife?” Leland asked.
He lowered his voice and said in a conspiratorial tone, “You saw the news online last night, right? Even the police are getting involved. Rumor has it they’re getting divorced. You’re their uncle. You must know the inside story, right?”
The moment those words left his mouth, Leland seemed to feel the temperature in the room drop by several degrees.
Silas’ expression rapidly turned cold, and he started to radiate a chilling, hostile presence.
At the mention of “Logan’s wife”, his fingers tightened around the cup.
Leland was completely baffled by the sudden chill, unable to figure out what had offended Silas again.
He mused internally at how weird it was. Why was it that every time the guys hung out, Silas would go cold and shut down the moment anyone mentioned Logan or Liana?
At 7:00 pm, Liana arrived at the Lynch residence to discuss the final details for the court hearing next month.
The Lynch family’s mansion sat in an old, wealthy district on the east side of the city. It was an imposing estate that was several times larger than Liana’s place, exuding the kind of heritage and elegance only generational wealth could afford.
Lucinda greeted Liana at the door, dressed in a traditional red dress. “Ms. Wade, please come in.”
Liana nodded slightly and followed Lucinda inside.
In the dining room, the long rosewood table had already been set with exquisite dishes. The tableware glowed softly under the crystal chandelier.
Liana looked around the vast dining room. Aside from a few household staff standing discreetly by, it was only her and Lucinda.
She didn’t see Lucinda’s husband, the current head of the Lynch family. She also didn’t see the other party involved in the lawsuit, Olivia’s husband, Zayn.
Lucinda must have seen the confusion on her face, so she explained, “They’re both busy with business matters. This father and son pair is constantly too busy to even come home.”
Liana had just sat down when she frowned. “What about the boy? Who takes care of him?”
Lucinda took a sip of her coffee, saying in a neutral tone, “My son is almost never home.

Marcus has naturally been with Olivia all this time.”
Liana’s heart sank. This was bad.
