Chapter 112 Finaly Learned To Firt
Chapter 112 Finally Learned To Flirt
“Your Highness,” Layla said first, her voice distant and formal
Atlas’s eyes narrowed, then slowly lit up, with a bit of poutiness mixed in
“Layla, why are you calling me Your Highness again? Didn’t I tell you to call me Ninth?” he said, and added. “Or Atty. if you want.
Layla felt a wave of relief wash over her.
Thank goodness, he’s still November, she thought.
She visibly relaxed.
But then, from behind Layla, Leilani spoke up with a wistful tone. “Atlas, I tried calling you, Atty before, but you wouldn’t have it. You even threatened to go on a hunger strike until I changed it.”
‘See? The moment he gets a girlfriend, his mom is old news!” Leilani thought.
Leilani’s eyes were practically brimming with grievance.
“Mom…” November walked over to Layla’s side, giving her the same sulky look as his mother
Layla glanced between the two of them.
Wow, they really are mother and son. Those puppy-dog eyes are uncanny, the same! Layla thought. Layla felt November grip her hand tightly, keeping it hidden behind her back, out of Leilani’s sight
Then, he traced a teasing finger across her palm.
It made Layla’s palm tingle and filled her with warmth.
Layla coughed awkwardly. “Her Majesty, he’s probably in his rut right now, so he’s acting a bit differently than usual
*Oh? I’ve seen him in rut before, but he never acted like this,” Leilani said, playing dumb. As a high-ranking shifter herself, she’d totally caught the two of them sneaking little touches behind her back.
On one hand, she felt a motherly sense of pride, ‘My son finally learns to flirt with girls!
On the other hand, Leilani just couldn’t resist teasing them a little.
Leilani thought, ‘So his rut’s not the same as before, huh?
‘Well, that’s what happens when he finally gets himself a girlfriend. With someone by his side to keep him in check of course, his rut’s gonna be different.’
Layla’s ears burned. She was usually calm and collected, but with Queen Leilani standing right there, she couldn’t help but feel awkward.
Atlas knew his mom’s personality all too well, and he also knew Layla was easily embarrassed. He was at a loss. “Mom what are you doing here?”
‘I came to plant some veggies, Leilani said.
Atlas was speechless.
Layla wasn’t sure if November had seen her message yet, so she decided to speak up for herself, “I came here to hide. The Coffey family and the Sullivan family are searching for me everywhere.”
Leilani’s attention was immediately caught. “Why are they after you?”
Layla quickly explained what happened to Tomas, and in an instant, the usually gentle queen’s eyes blazed with anger, her gentle demeanor vanishing in an instant.
“Hell no! Over my dead body! My son’s girl, and they think they can go after her? Leilani snapped.
Mermaids are notorious for their bad tempers, and the stronger they are, the worse it gets.
Layla stared in shock as Leilani’s usual persona just crumbled. For a moment, the psychic force that Leilani unleashed was insanely powerful.
Atlas was pissed off, too, his voice going cold. ‘I’ll make sure the Coffey family regrets this.”
Leilani yawned. “Can’t really blame them, though. You never announced to the world that you two are married. They don’t even know Layla is your wife.”
At that, Atlas glanced at Layla, and she just sta.
Successfully unlocked!
She figured that making it public would probably bring even more drama than they already had.

Chapter 112 Finally Learned To Flirt
And with Leilani standing right there, there’s no way she could just blurt out that she was always ready to break things off
with Atlas.
Thinking about her unfinished mech suit design, Layla asked, “Can I use your mech suit lab? I need to help a friend fix up a
mech suit.”
“Of course,” Atlas replied. He used to keep the basement a secret from Layla, but during his last rut, he ended up spilling everything.
It wasn’t that he was trying to hide anything from her. He just didn’t want to freak her out.
But now, it was clear that Layla was way braver than he’d ever imagined, and she was totally unfazed.
*****
Once Layla headed down to the basement mech suit lab, Leilani dropped her smile and shot Atlas a look. “So, you’re faking your rut now?”
Atlas was speechless.
“Please, I’m your mother. You think I can’t tell? Obviously, you’re just pulling this stunt to keep Layla around, aren’t you?” Leilani teased.
Atlas lowered his gaze. “Mom, can you take care of the Coffey family for me?”
“Piece of cake. But seriously, when are you two finally going to make your marriage public?” Leilani asked.
“Layla doesn’t want to,” Atlas replied.
Leilani glanced in the direction Layla had gone and snorted. “Layla doesn’t want to go public? Bet it’s because you’re not exactly the most reliable guy.”
Now that his mom had totally called him out, Atlas finally relaxed. No need to keep pretending to be November anymore.
Back in the living room, Atlas flopped onto the couch, rubbing his forehead. Out of nowhere, he blurted, “Mom, why don’t I take you and Layla away from Alpha Prime? The three of us could finally live together, just like a real family.”
Leilani froze for a second, then her eyes turned gentle. “Oh, you silly boy. I can’t just leave the palace. My people need me. And you, as the God of War, you can’t just walk away from Alpha Prime either.”
Atlas glanced up and caught the hint of loneliness in his mother’s eyes. He could tell she wasn’t really being honest with him.
But that was all she could say.
He dropped his gaze. “Yeah, I get it.”
Leilani sat down gracefully, taking the water from Zee. “So, how are you planning to deal with the Coffey family mess?” “Layla is safe here, so they won’t be able to find her for now. I want to talk things over with her. Maybe I can use this chance to come clean about us,” Atlas said.
“Your father could help out, too, but honestly, if you can use this chance to let everyone know, that’d be even better,” Leilani said with a gentle smile. “I really adore Layla, Atlas. You’d better not mess this up.”
“Yeah,” Layla agreed.
Even though Leilani didn’t want to return to the palace, she couldn’t stay here for long. Before she left, she gently reminded Atlas, “If you two ever decide to announce your marriage, make sure to tell me the moment you do.”
She was already planning a grand wedding for them in her heart.
*****
Once Mollie, the captain of Leilani’s guard, came to escort Leilani onto the aero-vehicle, the gentle smile on Leilani’s lips slowly faded away.
“Your Majesty, you always seem so happy whenever you visit Prince Atlas. What’s wrong?” Mollie said.
“I was happy today, too. Layla spent half the day gardening with me,” Leilani replied, turning to watch her son’s estate grow smaller in the distance.
She murmured, “Atlas told me today that he wants to take Layla and me away from Alpha Prime, so the three of us can live together as a family.
“Even though I turned him down, deep down, I really wanted to say yes.” Leilani looked up; her eyes were a little misty. Mollie looked at her with concern. “Your Highness, you’ve sacrificed so much for our people.”
“What choice do I have? Without Alpha Prime’s protection, the rebels would slaughter everyone on our planet,” Leilani said.
