Chapter 113 Go Home And Sweet Talk Your Wife

Chapter 113 Go Home And Sweet-Talk Your Wife

Leilani’s home planet, Meridia, wasn’t originally part of the Alpha System.

Over twenty years ago, Meridia was brutally attacked by the rebels. Fortunately, the Alpha Prime fleet arrived just in time to drive the rebels away.

After that, similar tragedies happened on many other planets.

To secure a peaceful life, Meridia formed an alliance with Alpha Prime, and Leilani, whose genetic compatibility with King Dakota was a perfect 100%, was married to him.

From then on, the Alpha Prime palace gained a gentle and dignified queen.

Meanwhile, Meridia was left without its dazzling, free-spirited Princess Leilani.

As the aero-vehicle carried her farther from her son’s manor, Leilani’s gaze dropped, masking the sadness in her eyes.

She guessed this was just how her life would be now.

All she wished for was that Atlas could live happily and find his own joy.

In the basement of Prince Atlas’s manor, the mech suit control station sat quietly.

Layla took in the fully loaded setup. It was even more high-tech than the gear in the school’s mech suit lab. She was honestly kind of stunned.

After all, Atlas was a trooper and a commander, not a mech engineer.

So most of the time, all this pricey equipment was just sitting here in his basement, collecting dust.

“What a waste,” Layla muttered, then got straight to work designing the mech suit her client wanted.

Since it was meant for a woman, and Layla had no clue what November’s wife was like, she figured most people who could handle a mech suit were troopers anyway.

So she didn’t make the lines overly ornate or girly. She prioritized defense and firepower instead.

For the look, Layla chose silver with some aqua blue accents. But as she blended in the blue materials, she couldn’t help but think of Atlas and those deep blue eyes of his.

They were so beautiful, it was way too easy to get lost in them.

‘Focus, Layla. No zoning out now, she reminded herself, keeping her attention locked on finishing the client’s mech suit.

Everything was all set except for the rare metal needed for the final weapon.

Layla circled the massive mech suit standing in the center of the showroom, double-checking every detail. Satisfied there were no issues, she stowed it back into the mech suit key.

“Zaa, did anyone hit me up about the rare metals on the mech suit forum yet?” Layla asked.

“Not yet, Layla,” Zaa replied.

Layla didn’t let it get to her. That rare metal for the core bearing was crazy hard to come by, especially for a top-tier mech

suit like this.

She figured she’d just have to wait a bit longer.

After finishing up, Layla realized two hours had slipped by without her noticing. She wondered if Leilani was still around.

She hurried out of the basement and into the garden, but it was already empty.

Still, the neat rows of little seedlings in the vegetable patch reminded her of the time she and Leilani had worked together

here.

‘Guess we’ve got that whole planted veggies together bond now, Layla thought.

Layla glanced around, and just then, Zee rolled over on the robot butler’s wheels. “Layla, are you looking for Atlas? He’s in a meeting in the study.

“If you’re tired, you can rest in your room. If you’re hungry, I can whip up something in the kitchen.”

“What about Her Majesty?” Layla asked.

Successfully unlocked!

“Her Majesty has already returned to the palace, To

Layla nodded, not surprised at all. Honestly, it was way more shocking that Leilani had actually come here to plant veggies

in the first place.

She wasn’t hungry, so she decided to head back to the guest room and get some rest. At Prince Atlas’s manor, Atlas always took the master bedroom, while Layla stayed in the guest room.

Even now, with Atlas in rut, Layla couldn’t help but still see herself as just a guest here.

Zee got a bit flustered, its electronic eyes darting around. Then, in a moment of quick thinking, it quietly disabled the guest

room’s electronic lock.

So when Layla tried to swipe her optical computer for access at the guest room door, all she got was a persistent error

message.

Zee hurried over, doing its best to look totally frustrated with its robot body.

“Ugh, this dumb door system is glitching again. Layla, why don’t you rest in the master bedroom for now? Once I fix this, you can come back in,” Zee said.

“It’s really not a big deal. I can just crash in the lounge,” Layla said casually.

“No way, Layla. You should rest in the master bedroom. What if someone comes looking for Atlas right now?” Zee insisted.

Layla always felt a little out of place whenever she was here, mostly because she was afraid someone might walk in on her.

After hearing Zee’s suggestion, Layla just shrugged and headed upstairs.

Atlas’s room was still decked out in black, white, and gray, just as chilly as his usual vibe. But Layla knew that when Atlas was in rut, he became surprisingly warm and even a little cute.

And deep down, he was pretty insecure, too.

She thought, ‘Maybe it is all those rough childhood experiences that make his personality so complicated.’

Thinking about it, Layla couldn’t help but feel a pang of sympathy for the always-cold Atlas.

But that was just sympathy. If she had to choose, Layla would rather spend time with November any day.

What Layla didn’t know was that as soon as she stepped into the master bedroom, Zee sent a message straight to Atlas’s earpiece.

“Atlas, Layla just came out of the basement and is resting in the master bedroom!” Zee said. “Seriously, what’s the point of this meeting? Just drop everything and go coax your wife already!”

Atlas looked up at his subordinates and said, “I want detailed data on every planet attacked by the rebels in the past twenty years, plus the outcome of each incident.

“If you can’t spot any anomalies, you can all forget about showing up at Military Command tomorrow.”

The group immediately nodded, looking utterly miserable.

Before the screen went black, Atlas got up. He started toward the master bedroom, but halfway there, he doubled back.

He needed to take a shower first.

He’d just been at Alpha Prime Prison interrogating a prisoner, and he still smelled like blood.

After scrubbing off the blood, Atlas released a bit of his signature pine-scented pheromones. Layla always loved that scent on him.

Then he threw on some loose navy blue loungewear, his nine fluffy tails trailing behind him in a relaxed sprawl.

Atlas walked into the master bedroom and immediately caught Layla in the middle of a phone call, her whole posture tense.

“Wait, what? Nolan’s been hurt. Seriously hurt? He is in a coma and got sent back to Alpha Prime?” Layla asked.

Honestly, Nolan was the only one from the Sullivan family that Layla ever truly worried about.

She thought, ‘No wonder he never texted back.

‘Turns out he got seriously hurt!’

Annie was the one who told Layla about it. Annie had been so restless trying to figure out what was going on with her family that she had people asking around.

But what she found out instead was that Nolan had gotten seriously hurt.

“Oh, and Layla, it’s not just Nolan. Tomas is badly injured, too. Both of them are in the VIP ward at the Medical Center! And I heard the Coffey family is hunting all over for you!” Annie blurted out.
