Sorry I'm Mated To The Commander novel Chapter 120

Chapter 120 You Are Out Of Money!

Chapter 120 You Are Out Of Money!

November smirked, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “Yeah, right. Keep talking.”

Dizzy, with a cigarette dangling from his lips and dressed in a long black coat, widened his eyes. “You don’t believe me, huh? Fine, follow me! I am about to show you, clueless kids, what real experience looks like.”

He turned and walked over to a shelf, tapping it twice. An electronic panel appeared.

With his return to Layla and November, he punched in a string of numbers, and the hidden door slowly slid open.

Dizzy spun around, grinning smugly, hoping to catch a glimpse of fear or wariness on these two kids’ faces.

After all, this was Shadow Alley. There’s no telling what kind of danger might be waiting behind that secret door.

It could be a starbeast that eats people alive!

But as soon as he turned around, the two kids just strolled right in, one with genuine curiosity all over her face, the other looking bored and totally dismissive.

Dizzy was speechless.

‘Kids these days, huh? They’re fearless, not scared of anything, Dizzy thought.

Layla walked side by side with November as they strolled in. The metal corridor stretched on, heavy with tobacco smoke.

November was clearly annoyed and quietly let out a trace of his signature cold pine pheromone.

Layla didn’t like the smoke, but just then, she caught a faint whiff of cold pine. She shot November a look, and he winked at her with his right eye.

‘Damn, he looks good, Layla thought.

Dizzy strutted ahead, totally missing the two getting all cozy behind him. He boasted, “Listen, everything here is the real deal. It costs a fortune! I’m just here to blow your minds, but let’s be real, you kids couldn’t dream of affording any of this.”

Normally, Dizzy would never let kids like them in. Broke students couldn’t buy a thing anyway.

But this time, he felt a weird sense of kinship with Layla. Something about her features reminded him of his big brother.

Dizzy lit up his pipe, took a puff, and as the smoke curled out, his eyes clouded with a hint of old sorrow.

‘If my big brother’s kid hadn’t gone missing all those years ago, the kid would be just as grown up as these two by now, Dizzy thought.

“Alright, this is it! Bet you’ve never seen this much cool stuff back at school,” Dizzy said.

Layla, a mech engineer herself, was stunned as she looked at the glass cabinet’s, packed with rare metals, precious ores, and even starbeasts’ fangs and bones.

Right in the center, a fully intact Hellwing Starbeast skeleton was on display.

November’s eyes lingered on the Hellwing Starbeast for a moment.

Dizzy puffed out his chest. “Know what this is? That’s a Hellwing Starbeast, one of the most vicious starbeasts out there!

“Prince Atlas took it down all by himself when he was just sixteen! I shelled out a fortune and pulled every string I could to get my hands on this.

“Just feast your eyes, you two couldn’t afford it anyway.”

Layla shot November a complicated look.

Under his mask, Atlas’s lips twitched. He was cursing Roger, the guy who handled the Hellwing Starbeast’s remains, a thousand times over in his head, but his face stayed perfectly calm.

Layla couldn’t help but be drawn to the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton again. The silvery-black bones sparked an idea in her mind.

Seeing how seriously she was eyeing the skeleton, Dizzy raised an eyebrow and joked, “You’re not actually thinking of putting that thing to use, are you?”

“Nah, I’m really after rare metals,” Layla replied, then glanced at November. “But this Hellwing Starbeast skeleton would be perfect for upgrading Prince Atlas’s Ares.”

Ares was already top-tier, with insane defense and attack stats hut since it was so old, it needed regular upgrades to stay in peak condition.

Hearing Layla’s suggestion, Atlas suddenly thought, ‘Maybe I should let Layla give it a shot.”

Good thing Ares was still snoozing inside the mech suit key and had no clue what was going on.

Dizzy’s expression grew even stranger. He knew better than bringing up Atlas again, not counting all that bragging from before.

Finally, he asked with curiosity, “Kid, you’re with the Mech Engineering Division, right?”

“Yeah,” Layla replied.

“Oh, what year are you in? Can you fix B Tier mech suits yet?” Dizzy asked.

If someone could handle B-Tier mech suits, they would have no worries after graduation because the military would snatch them up for sure.

Layla nodded, giving a vague answer.

Dizzy took a drag from his pipe and mused, “No wonder you know Prince Atlas’s mech suit is called Ares. But hey, gotta watch what you say. This Hellwing Starbeast skeleton might not actually be the best fit for Ares.

“If you’re after rare metals, they’re over there. But trust me, they’ll cost you.”

Layla pressed her lips together, keeping quiet. She turned to check out the rare metals, but before she could get far, she caught November heading straight for Dizzy.

November just pointed at the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton and asked, “How much for that?”

Dizzy raised an eyebrow. “Kid, what do you want that for?”

“Buying it,” November replied.

“You serious? You can afford that?” Dizzy scoffed.

“Just name your price,” November said.

Dizzy sized November up. He thought, ‘The kid never took off his mask, and he had this commanding vibe. Could he be some rich Alpha heir from one of the noble families?’

He let out a cold snort. “You know, this skeleton is the most expensive thing in my whole shop! I dropped 50 million starcoins just to get my hands on it. If you really want it, make it 80 million starcoins.”

Layla’s jaw dropped. She thought, ‘Whoa, that’s insane!’

But Atlas didn’t bat an eye at the price. He was just about to say something when Zee’s panicked voice buzzed in his earpiece, “Atlas, did you forget? You already sent all your money to Layla!

“And just recently, you had to borrow from Roger to get Hades to custom-build your mech suit!”

Zee thought, ‘The thing is, Atlas still hasn’t paid Roger back!’

Atlas was speechless.

He thought it over. None of his crew could scrape together 80 million starcoins.

And honestly, the fewer people who knew about this, the better.

Atlas stared at the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton, lost in thought.

Seeing the masked boy frown, Dizzy snorted and turned to Layla. “Which of these rare metals do you want?”

Layla glanced at Atlas, who was quietly brooding, and out of nowhere, she really wanted to buy that Hellwing Starbeast skeleton for him.

She thought, ‘I think I’ve got enough in my account for this, right?’

Her plan was simple. Picking out the rare metals she needed and paying for everything together, including that skeleton. If her balance took a hit, she’d just hustle a few more custom mech gigs to make up for it.

Worst case, she could always hit Weston for a loan.

Layla turned to check out the rare metals in the cabinets, and her eyes immediately locked onto a bottle of deep blue liquid

metal.

“Is that Ocean Tear?” Layla asked.

Dizzy said, “Sharp eye, kid! Had a buddy risk his neck to get this out of the Meridian Abyss. It was tough as hell, and two guys from the mining crew didn’t make it back.”

The Meridian Abyss was a place shrouded in tragic legends, known as the graveyard of countless Mermaids.

Back then, many Mermaids who lost their lovers would leap from those cliffs, choosing to end it all in the depths below.

But in reality, the abyss was a seriously dangerous place, packed with vicious starbeasts and this crazy, rare liquid metal.

“Hey, boss, what’s the price on this Ocean Tear?” Layla asked.

“10 million starcoins,” Dizzy replied.

Layla heard the price and thought, ‘I totally lowballed that November when I quoted him!’

She turned away, reconsidering her options.

Layla glanced back and saw November still lingering by the Hellwing Starbeast skeleton.
