Chapter 131 No 1 Bachelor
Chapter 131 No.1 Bachelor
Seeing Atlas’s commanding message, Layla frowned. She really missed the sweet, cuddly November.
But she really had no choice but to go.
Annie noticed Layla frowning and quickly reassured her. “Layla, what’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just have something to do, so I’m heading back to the dorm. You guys go eat at the cafeteria,” Layla replied.
With that, she turned and walked away.
Annie watched Layla walk away, worry written all over her face. “What’s going on with Layla? Is she feeling down because she lost to Bruce?”
Alex shook his head. “Nah, that’s not it. When she was dueling Bruce earlier, they were neck and neck, and she was even ahead for a while. She just spaced out at the end, and that’s how Bruce won.”
Annie said. “I knew it! Layla would never lose to Bruce unless something was up.”
Layla had no clue what her friends were chatting about. As she hurried toward the dorm, she couldn’t help but wonder what Atlas wanted with her.
‘Did he really come all the way here just for me?’ Layla thought to herself.
‘If that’s the case, it must be something big. Maybe Nolan’s transfer to Sector Three Command finally got the green light, she mused.
With that thought, Layla picked up her pace. When she got back to the dorm and opened the door, she found Atlas lounging on the couch, rocking his sharp military uniform.
His long legs had nowhere to go, making the cramped dorm look even tinier.
Layla remembered the first time Atlas came here during his rut. He’d joked the place was so small that it didn’t even measure up to his own bathroom back home.
Layla had been to Atlas’s manor enough times to know he wasn’t kidding.
She stopped about 3 feet from the couch, her gaze lowered. “Your Highness, what did you need to see me about?”
Again with that distant, polite tone. Atlas couldn’t help but feel irritated.
There was a dangerous glint in his eyes, and his psychic force as a Super S-tier shifter flooded the room, making the air heavy.
Layla felt the pressure, but she kept her cool-still respectful, still distant, never backing down.
Atlas grew even more irritated and flung something toward Layla. “Take it. It’s yours.”
The familiar-looking mech suit key hit the metal table with a sharp clang, rolled to the edge, and stopped.
Layla looked up, her gaze sharpening as she recognized the button.
Layla hesitated, her voice soft and uncertain. “Your Highness?”
“Take it. It’s yours!” Atlas said, sounding even more annoyed. His fingers clenched as he added impatiently, “Seriously, losing to a first-year? Aren’t you ashamed?”
Layla was silent for a few seconds.
She understood.
‘Atlas must’ve just been passing by and saw me lose to Bruce. Guess he felt kinda embarrassed for me and tossed me a mech suit so I wouldn’t look bad, Layla thought.
After all, they were still technically married.
Layla clenched her fists. “Don’t worry, Your Highness. No one knows we’re married, so if I lose face, it’s all on me, not you.”
Atlas was speechless.
That was the real issue. Every time they talked, it always ended in this awkward, polite stalemate.
Their conversations as a married couple always just fizzled out before they even got anywhere.
Zee couldn’t bear to watch this trainwreck anymore.
It buzzed nonstop in Atlas’s ear, “Mr. Zimmer, you’re killing the mood here! You came to give her a present and make her happy, remember?

“Hurry up! She’s already frowning. Go cheer her up, quick!”
Atlas was just hopeless, making even his Al sigh in exasperation.
Atlas pressed his lips together. He knew that if he were November right now, he’d just say something sweet and wrap his tail around Layla, and she’d be all smiles in no time.
But right now, he just couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Zee was scanning every bit of advice it could find, desperate to figure out how Atlas could get Layla back in a good mood, fast.
Tips and tricks flashed through its processor until suddenly, one suggestion stood out.
Zee perked up and buzzed excitedly in Atlas’s ear, “Mr. Zimmer, when the guy ticks off the girl, there’s the best, easiest fix ever-just kiss her! Trust me!
“Mr. Zimmer, you only barged in here because you saw her hanging out with another guy, right? You’re totally jealous! “So quit overthinking and just kiss her already!”
Atlas hesitated for a moment, thinking Zee’s suggestion sounded pretty sketchy.
But then he remembered that while he was away, some guy had gotten close to Layla, and the two of them spent several minutes alone together in her dorm, talking.
A wave of hostility and jealousy spread through his chest.
Atlas marched straight toward Layla, his aura practically suffocating the room. The look in his eyes was downright predatory, all sharp edges and danger, making Layla’s heart skip a beat.
Instinctively, she stumbled backward, trying to put some space between them.
Her back crashed into the freezer with a jolt. She looked up, pulse racing, only to find Atlas looming over her, and it was close enough that escape was impossible.
Layla didn’t know what to say.
The more she hung out with Atlas, the more she realized his legendary bad temper was actually even worse than people said.
She thought, ‘Is he really throwing a fit just because I turned down his present?
‘Wow, he really is this childish!’
Atlas tilted her chin up and crashed his lips onto hers. His mouth was cool, but the kiss was all heat and raw dominance. Layla’s first instinct was to shove him away, but Atlas just grabbed her hands, holding them tight so she couldn’t escape. Layla was no weakling herself, but the man in front of her was the top shifter on Alpha Prime.
Her lips tingled and went numb, and no matter how hard she struggled, there was no way she could budge him.
A weird wave of guilt hit Layla out of nowhere, like she was cheating on November.
But then, that familiar cedar scent filled the air, and her hands slowly relaxed, all her resistance melting away.
‘Wait… this is November, Layla thought, her heart skipping a beat.
With a perfect genetic match and that addictive pheromone she knew by heart, there was no way she could be mistaken. Atlas finally let her go, his gaze lingering on Layla’s lips with obvious reluctance before he stepped back.
In a low, possessive voice, he said, “You’d better remember that you’re already my wife.”
All the sweet, fuzzy feelings Layla had just now vanished in an instant, wiped out by his words.
“What do you mean by that, Your Highness?” Layla asked, frowning in confusion.
“I don’t know what you two were doing alone in that room, but just so you know, don’t let it happen again,” Atlas said coldly. With that, Atlas turned on his heel and strode out, leaving Layla standing there in stunned silence.
Zee wailed in despair, totally speechless.
It thought, ‘Game over! This is a disaster!
‘Total waste of a kiss!’
Layla’s eyes turned icy, her stare growing sharper with every passing second.
She thought, ‘So that’s what this is about? Atlas barged in here all fired up, first acting like I made him lose face, and then out of nowhere, he kissed me. Did he seriously think Bruce kissed me or something?’

Humiliation and rage crashed over her, and without hesitating, Layla pulled up her optical computer and slammed in a divorce request.
‘Nope. I’m done with this trainwreck of a marriage. I’m not sticking around for even one more day! Layla thought, her patience officially gone.
Atlas hadn’t even left Imperial Academy yet when the divorce request popped up on his optical computer. One second, he was still savoring the sweetness of that kiss, and the next, his face went cold as ice.
“Why does she want to divorce me again?” Atlas said.
Zee let out a long, exasperated sigh.
It thought, ‘Serves you right, Mr. Zimmer. With the way you act, you’re destined to be the No. 1 Bachelor and stay single for the next ten thousand light-years!’
