Chapter 132 She Must Be Shy!

Chapter 132 She Must Be Shy!

Atlas lowered his gaze, just as he was about to turn away, Zee blurted out, “Wait, Mr. Zimmer, if you go back now, you two are definitely gonna get into a fight! Seriously, now’s not the time!

“Didn’t you give Mrs. Zimmer that mech suit? Once she sees the masterpiece, she’ll totally light up and won’t be so upset anymore!”

What Zee kept to himself was, ‘Mr. Zimmer, right now, even a mech suit’s got more appeal than you!’

Atlas hesitated for a moment, and then, with a heavy heart, he finally turned and left Imperial Academy.

And as for the divorce request… Needless to say, it was totally denied.

Meanwhile, back in her dorm, Layla wasn’t surprised at all to see that her divorce request had been rejected again. She took a deep breath.

‘This is the last time, she told herself.

If Atlas lost it again, she wouldn’t hold back anymore. She’d just go straight to the Interstellar Courthouse and file for divorce herself.

She did feel a bit guilty toward November, but honestly, it was simply impossible for her to get along with Atlas.

Layla sat down on the couch, taking a moment to steady her nerves. It wasn’t like dealing with Atlas was anything new. Then her gaze fell on the mech suit key lying on the table.

She picked it up, planning to stash it with all the other things Atlas had given her. Honestly, she had zero interest in using anything from him.

Everything was stacked together now, just waiting for the day the divorce finally went through, so she could pack it all up and return it to him.

But now, Layla’s attention was glued to that uncannily familiar mech suit key. There was no way she could deploy a mech suit in this tiny dorm room.

“Why does it look exactly the same?” Layla muttered, stunned.

Layla distinctly remembered that when November placed the order, it wasn’t even close to Atlas’s rut.

That was why she’d never linked the two together. But now…

Layla grabbed the mech suit key, sprang to her feet, and headed straight for the door, making a beeline for the mech suit lab. But as luck would have it, the first and second-year mech suit classes had overlapped, so there wasn’t a single free lab left. She could’ve gone to the Mech Combat Arena to show off the mech suit since there was plenty of space there, but Layla didn’t want anyone else catching a glimpse of it.

‘What if… this mech suit really is the one I built?’ Layla thought, her heart pounding.

‘But how could Atlas possibly be November on the mech suit forum?’ The thought made her head spin.

With her mind in knots, Layla decided to just wait until a mech suit lab was available.

Just then, Shayla happened to walk by. Noticing Layla sitting there and, after hearing there were no free labs, she immediately said, “As a Class S student in the Mech Engineering Division, you can actually apply to use the teachers’ mech suit labs.

“But you’ll need to register first. Come with me, and we’ll get you registered.”

“Okay, thank you, Ms. Mcgrath!” Layla said.

The registration was super easy. Just a few minutes and it was done. Shayla smiled at her, “Layla, this semester we’re starting on B Tier mech suits. I know you’ve got this, no sweat.”

Layla nodded.

‘If only they knew, I can already make S Tier mech suits, Layla thought to herself.

‘Heh, I’m literally holding one right now, she added silently, glancing at the button in her hand.

Shayla didn’t stick around. She was always busy. After giving Layla a couple of pointers, she headed out.

Layla walked into the lab and shut the door. At Successfully unlocked!had way more components and was loaded with

advanced equipment.

Layla was already familiar with all this stuff. She had a different goal this time.

Layla stepped into the open area, gripping the mech suit key tightly, her mind racing as she paused for a few seconds.

She thought, ‘What if the mech suit inside is actually the one I made for that client on the forum?

‘So November is Atlas, and not even during his rut, but when he was totally clear-headed!

‘Could that really be true?’

Layla steeled herself and pressed the button. The massive mech suit appeared before her, the Ocean Tear emblem on its chest instantly recognizable.

Because it hadn’t been bound yet, the mech suit was in its unbound state, respectfully on one knee.

“Master, please input your personal data to bind with me,” came a crisp, almost icy female voice. Layla had set the Al’s voice to female back then, figuring it’d suit the client’s wife better.

Of course, it all came down to personal taste. Some folks were into those cutesy, adorable kid voices.

Some preferred that boyish cutie vibe.

Take Annie’s mech suit, for example. It used to have a boyish cutie voice, but after she tied the knot with Randall, she went and switched it to a really stern, deep woman’s voice.

Layla blinked, realizing she’d totally zoned out.

The massive mech suit just kept crouching down there like a loyal knight, patiently waiting for its owner to bind with it.

Instead of binding with the mech suit right away, Layla called Atlas.

Atlas had just returned to the military base and was in the middle of a meeting. When Layla’s name flashed on his optical computer, he paused for a few seconds before finally answering.

By now, Layla should’ve already activated the mech suit key and discovered the masterpiece.

He answered in a laid-back tone, “To what do I owe the pleasure?”

Layla hesitated for a few seconds, stumped. She thought, ‘Should I just straight-up ask if he actually cared about me? I mean, November on the forum was always acting like the perfect, lovesick husband.’

But if she did that, her Hades identity would be toast.

Thinking that, Layla didn’t even hesitate and just hung up.

Atlas stared at his optical computer, completely confused.

‘She called, and then hung up right away? What’s up with that?’ Atlas wondered, totally lost.

Zee jumped in to help, “Mr. Zimmer, Mrs. Zimmer must be shy! She’s a Mech Engineering Division student, crazy about mech suits.

“When she realized you gave her a masterpiece, she got super excited, called you, but then got all shy and tongue-tied, so she hung up!”

“Really?” Atlas asked, raising an eyebrow.

“The book says so! Ninety-eight percent of the time, it’s exactly like this!” Zee insisted.

Hearing Zee’s confident tone, Atlas was at a loss for words. “What book are you even talking about?”

“The Commander’s Darling!” Zee replied proudly.

Atlas was speechless.

Layla was definitely not shy, and her emotions were all over the place.

The S Tier mech suit she’d built for her client was right there in front of her.

She thought, ‘Wait, did I mess up the dates? Maybe Atlas ordered this mech suit from Hades on the forum during his rut, and since he remembered what happened, he just sent it over as an afterthought?

‘That’s the perfect explanation.

‘So the only issue is… Did I get the timing of Atlas’s rut wrong?

‘That’s gotta be it.

‘Atlas would never go out of his way to send me a gift like this when he was thinking straight.

‘Especially not a gift this precious!’

After letting it go, Layla hesitated and then chose not to bind with the mech suit. She put it back into the button and stashed it with all the other things Atlas had given her.
