Chapter 134 Don’t Wanna Have My Baby?
Atlas thought, ‘I only called Layla ‘my star’ during my rut.
‘How dare that brat act so close to her already?’
The air pressure around them started to drop, and the psychic force of the strong began to spill out.
Those with higher shift tiers were still okay for now.
But some with lower shift tiers were already struggling to breathe.
Layla felt the familiar psychic force and immediately walked over to Atlas, whispering, “Your Highness, stop!”
Atlas looked at her, his deep eyes completely devoid of emotion, like a bottomless, dangerous black hole.
Layla took a deep breath and said, “I’ll go with you.”
Atlas looked at her face and then glanced beyond her, his eyes settling on Bruce.
Bruce, ever perceptive, suddenly felt a chilling sense of mortal danger.
Atlas spoke up, “Why did he call you ‘my dear”?”
He still looked every bit as dangerous, but there was an unexpected hint of hurt in his voice.
Layla was caught off guard, not expecting Atlas to ask that. She replied truthfully, “Because Bruce is my cousin. We just did
a genetic test and confirmed we’re related. He used to call me ‘my dear cousin’.”
‘So that’s how it is?’ Atlas thought.
The icy aura surrounding Atlas seemed to melt away before everyone’s eyes.
The oppressive psychic force he’d unleashed was pulled back just as suddenly.
He let out a low grunt, turned, and headed for the aero-vehicle, moving slowly at first. Once he saw Layla following, he picked up the pace.
Layla could feel Bruce’s confused gaze on her. She’d have to explain things to that kid later. The two of them boarded the aero-vehicle one after the other, not exchanging a single word.
Strangely enough, Layla felt like Atlas wasn’t as mad as before.
‘But why did he just pop up at the hospital out of nowhere?’ Layla wondered to herself.
Once they were on the aero-vehicle, and Layla saw Leilani, all her worries vanished.
She immediately bowed to Leilani. “Your Majesty.”
“Oh, you silly girl, we’re all family here. No need to be so formal. You can just call me Leilani. That way, you won’t slip up in front of Ms. Brennan later,” Leilani said with a warm smile.
Atlas couldn’t help but frown.
Layla just went ahead and called out, “Leilani.”
Leilani smiled softly. “Atlas had just picked me up when he heard you were at the hospital. He was worried you were sick, so he came running straight over.”
Atlas awkwardly turned his handsome face away, muttering, “I wasn’t.”
“Yeah, yeah, of course you weren’t,” Leilani said, rolling her eyes. She knew her son too well-not even a fraction as cute as he was as a kid, and the universe’s number one champion of awkwardness.
‘No wonder Layla is always talking about divorcing him,’ Leilani thought to herself.
Leilani took Layla’s hand and asked, “Oh, Layla, why did you go to the hospital? Were you feeling unwell?”
“Oh, no, I was just there with my cousin to do a genetic test,” Layla replied. “He’s from a remote planet, recognized me, so we did the test and found out we’re actually related.”
Leilani’s face lit up with joy. “That’s great! So you found your family. Where are they living?”
“We just got the results and hadn’t even had time to talk about it before His Highness showed up,” Layla explained. And then that whole awkward mess happened at the hospital.
Successfully unlocked!
Her son actually wasn’t as icy as before.
Even though Atlas’s face was still cold, Leilani gi She smiled and said, “This is such great news. If you’re clang pad ango ahead and talk to your cousin now.” “No rush. We’re almost at Wastelands-9 Orphan Core. I’ll introduce you to Ms. Brennan first,” Layla replied.

“Alright,” Leilani replied.
Atlas was sitting at the controls, but the aero-vehicle was on autopilot. Once the destination was set, it flew itself, so he didn’t have to do anything.
He’d been furious when Andrew told him Layla was at the hospital with Bruce.
That was why he’d rushed over without a second thought.
He even let his menacing psychic force spill out right there.
But all that anger vanished the moment Layla said Bruce was her cousin.
Atlas lowered his eyes.
‘Maybe I care about Layla more than I ever realized, Atlas thought to himself.
The aero-vehicle pulled up at Wastelands-9 Orphan Core, and as Layla stepped out, the pregnancy blocker she’d stuffed in her pocket tumbled right onto the ground.
She bent down to grab it, but Atlas’s big hand swooped in and snatched it up before she could.
Layla stared at Atlas’s hand clutching the pregnancy blocker, her face flushing with embarrassment. “Uh, Your Highness, could you please give that back?”
“Why are you taking this pregnancy blocker again?” Atlas demanded, his voice tight with concern. He still remembered back at boot camp, Layla had taken one of these and nearly passed out.
It wasn’t just that she didn’t care about her own health. There was something else.
Atlas looked up, his brows drawn together, his deep blue eyes dark and brooding.
He asked, “So you really don’t want to have my baby?”
Layla lowered her gaze. “It’s not about wanting or not wanting. The truth is, I just can’t. Your Highness, can I have the medicine back?”
Atlas narrowed his eyes, watching Layla stand her ground. Without another word, he stuffed the pregnancy blocker into his pocket and strode off after Leilani.
Layla didn’t know what to say.
‘Whatever, I’ll just buy another one later, she thought to herself.
When the three of them got to the apartment entrance, Celia was already standing there waiting for them.
Her face lit up with a big, warm smile as she looked at Leilani. “Ma’am, you look so young and gorgeous!”
Leilani smiled. “Come on, I’m not that young. I just don’t look old, that’s all.”
Leilani had gone all out with her disguise. There was no mask, just some makeup to make her look a lot softer and gentler than usual.
At a glance, nobody at Wastelands-9 Orphan Core would ever suspect she was actually the queen.
After all, that kind of thing was just so far removed from their world.
So Celia grabbed Leilani’s hand with genuine warmth, grinning. “You look way younger than me. I’ll just call you by your name. Leilani, I whipped up a bunch of snacks. Come on over and have a taste!”
Layla froze in surprise when she saw Celia grab Leilani’s hand and call her by her name.
She was about to step in and intervene, but Atlas, still masked, grabbed her hand to stop her.
Over on the other side, Leilani was already smiling. “Oh, really? That’s wonderful! I’d love to try your cooking, Celia.”
The queen was so easygoing that Layla was left speechless, just standing there in shock.
“Seriously, don’t stress. It’s totally fine. Mom’s super chill about stuff like that, and she thinks Ms. Brennan’s great, too,” Atlas reassured her.
“Leilani really is amazing,” Layla said. “I like her so much. It’s just a pity she’s lost her freedom…”
As soon as she said it, Layla realized she’d kind of put her foot in her mouth. She was about to explain herself when something unexpected caught her attention.
Atlas was gripping her hand. And he wasn’t letting go.
