Chapter 160
Chapter 160
Rosa Lowe looked like she was in her forties or fifties, but she was actually over seventy.
She seemed soft on the outside, but her eyes were steely with resolve as she stood her ground.
“Kane, don’t tell me you’ve forgotten this is Princess Leilani’s private residence,” Rosa said firmly.
Kane Logan, the blond ringleader, smirked mockingly. He said, “Yeah, I know. But my sister’s married to Prince Krish of Alpha Prime; she could be the next queen. Our families are tied now, so what’s wrong with crashing at Princess Leilani’s place?”
“Yeah, that’s right,” the seven or eight hangers-on around him quickly echoed.
But Rosa still stood her ground at the door.

Kane let out a cold laugh and had his bodyguard whip out a mech suit. He said, “Ms. Lowe, if you really want to block us, and we end up busting in and trashing the place, don’t come crying to us when things get ugly.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the bodyguard charged forward. Rosa’s eyes narrowed; she knew she didn’t have the psychic force to handle a mech suit, and honestly, she’d never dealt with anything like this before.
But this was Leilani’s residence, and there was no way she was letting these punks in to cause trouble.
She stood her ground, eyes squeezed shut, jaw clenched, refusing to back down.
But the pain Rosa braced herself for never came. When she opened her eyes, she saw the bodyguard who’d tried to hit her had already been sent flying by a powerful kick.
November and Layla stood protectively in front of her and the house, unwavering as her shield.
Seeing his bodyguard get knocked out, Kane’s eyes bulged with fury, his face twisted into a snarl. He said, “Who the hell are you people? Do you have any idea who my sister is? She’s married to Prince Krish of Alpha Prime.”
“I’ve even beaten up the prince himself, so what makes you losers think you can take me on?” November said, charging in without hesitation. In no time, all those spoiled rich kids were left groaning on the floor.
As Kane was dragged away, his face bruised and swollen, he glared back and shouted, “Just you wait.”
Once Kane and his gang were finally driven off, Rosa breathed a sigh of relief. But when she looked at November and Layla, her face was full of concern.
“Thank you so much for helping out, but the Logan family has been really arrogant lately. You two should leave before they cause even more trouble,” she said anxiously.
November said, “Ms. Lowe, it’s me, Ninth.”
“Oh, why are you wearing a mask?” Rosa asked, surprised.
“Let’s go inside and talk,” November said.
“Sure,” Rosa said.
Once they were inside, they activated the house’s basic defense systems. Rosa had the housekeeping robot pour them some hot coffee, then looked at November with a puzzled expression. She asked, “Prince Atlas, who is this?”
Layla pressed her lips together, about to answer, but November cut in quickly. He said, “She’s my mate.”

Layla turned to look at him.
November went on saying, “Ms. Lowe, I’m here on Meridia for some personal business, and I haven’t told anyone else. So, what’s the deal with that Kane guy?”
Rosa was stunned for a moment. She kept sneaking glances at Layla, noticing how nervous the girl seemed, so she wisely decided not to stare any longer.
She said, “The Logan family runs a high-tech business empire, and lately their influence on Meridia has been getting bigger and bigger. Not long ago, Angelina married Prince Krish of Alpha Prime, so now the Logans are acting like they own the place.
“They’ve already started plotting to grab more power, clashing with the Clark family in multiple areas. Spoiled brats like Kane just go around looking for trouble with us. Today, they used the whole party thing as an excuse to come here and throw shade.”
November scoffed, his tone icy. He said, “Angelina’s not even queen yet. What, is she pretending my mom’s already been replaced, or that my dad’s kicked the bucket?”
“Hey, Prince Atlas, you shouldn’t jinx your dad like that,” Rosa said.
November didn’t have much respect for his father. He’d always believed his dad had teamed up with the rest of the family to take his mother’s freedom away.
November said, “Upgrade the apartment’s defense system. If anyone tries to break in and cause trouble, let the system blast them to bits.”
Rosa gave a wry smile. She said, “The central AI on Meridia is already under the Logan family’s control. I can’t set the house’s defenses against them.”
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have had to stand guard at the door herself.
She could’ve just turned on the defenses and let them do the work.
November said coldly, “That’s easy. Zee, take over the house’s main AI control. From now on, if anyone except Ms. Lowe tries to force their way in, blast them to pieces.”
“Yes, Master,” Zee replied.
Just then, November’s optical computer suddenly chimed. Zee’s voice came through again. It said, “Master, you have an urgent call. It’s Colonel Roger.”
November figured it was probably something from the military, so he got up and headed to the next room to take the call.
Layla sat nearby, sipping her coffee, instinctively tightening her grip on the cup.
‘Is this it? Are Dizzy and the others starting the prison break?’ Layla thought. ‘Please, let there be no civilian casualties.
Layla was deep in thought when she looked up and realized Rosa ad quietly sat down beside her, giving her a soft, caring look.
Layla quickly asked, “Ms. Lowe, is everything okay?”
“Your Highness, I,” Rosa said.
“Ms. Lowe, please don’t call me that. Prince Atlas and I, well, we haven’t told anyone yet. Just call me Layla, okay?” Layla said gently.
Rosa was quick on the uptake; she instantly realized there was more to the story. She nodded and said, “Oh, so it’s still a

secret? Got it, I won’t breathe a word to anyone. I’m just so happy for you two
She said excitedly with tears, “Prince Atlas suffered through a hard youth. Her Majesty cherished him, yet couldn’t watch him grow. After awakening as a powerful shifter, he was constantly wounded in battle. Knowing you can stay by his side. I am truly happy.
Layla actually wanted to say that they may get divorced sooner, but seeing how happy Rosa looked, she just couldn’t bring herself to say it.
Just then. November came back from his call. Layla tensed up, bracing herself; she was sure he was about to say he needed to rush back to Alpha Prime.
But to her surprise, November asked, his voice gentle, “Layla, are you tired? If you want, we can chill here for a while. If you’re up for it, I can show you around.”
Layla blinked, caught off guard. She asked, “Don’t you need to head back? I mean, am I messing up your plans?”
“Being with you is my real business. Everything else is just noise,” November replied, sounding completely sincere.
Layla was speechless.
November could flirt like it was second nature now.
But even so, Layla’s ears went bright red; she couldn’t help it, especially with Ms. Lowe sitting right there.
Rosa just grinned like a proud aunt. She said, “Meridia’s been way more lively these past couple of years. You two should definitely go out and have some fun.”
Since they both said so, Layla didn’t argue anymore. But she still asked seriously, “Should we be worried about Kane coming back to make trouble?”
