Chapter 162

Layla frowned in confusion. She asked, “The Clark family is royalty. Are they really just going to let someone slap them in the face like this? They’re trying to take Her Majesty’s residence, and the Clarks are just standing by?”

“No, they’re not just standing by,” November replied, a cold smirk tugging at his lips beneath his mask.

Standing at the front door, knocking instead of the furious Logans, was his uncle, Garrett Clark.

Garrett called out through the video doorbell to Rosa inside, “Ms. Lowe, open the door right now. Do you realize you’ve caused a huge problem?”

Layla had good hearing. She caught every word Garrett said, and it left her completely shocked.

Layla thought, her mind spinning, “They’re trying to take Leilani’s place, and instead of stopping them, Garrett was actually helping the Logans?’

Suddenly, it all made sense to her. The truth was, the Clarks on Meridia had already started to bend the knee to the Logans.

‘Now it all made sense. Krish married Angelina because the Logans’ status shot up.’

Layla lowered her voice and asked, “Ninth, what are you going to do?”

November said coldly, “No one touches my mother’s residence. Even if I have to blow it to pieces myself, I won’t let those bastards get away with it.”

As soon as he finished, a dangerous aura erupted from November, filling the air with killing intent.

But his deadly psychic force was only half-formed before he reined it in. November turned to Layla and said, “Layla, there’s another secret door across the street. I’ll have Zee show you the way. Go inside and stay with Rosa. Wait for me.”

Layla asked, “Do you need my help?”

November’s eyes softened. He said, “No need, it’s just a few nobodies. I can handle them without breaking a sweat.”

Layla thought about Atlas’s fighting skills. ‘Forget Meridia’s elite guards, even the toughest void raiders or the rebels wouldn’t last a minute against Atlas, she thought.

Layla turned and followed Zee’s instructions through her earpiece. She crossed the street, slipped into the basement, and found the hidden passage. When she finally emerged, she was back inside Leilani’s residence.

Rosa looked completely lost and overwhelmed, with so many people outside, including members of the Clark family.

When Layla suddenly appeared, Rosa was stunned for a few seconds.

“Where’s Prince Atlas?” Rosa asked.

“He’s outside, taking care of things. Don’t worry, Ms. Lowe. He’s got it under control,” Layla replied.

As soon as Rosa heard Atlas was on it, she instantly relaxed. She even started asking Layla about her favorite snacks.

Layla blinked, then it clicked. Rosa trusted Atlas so much that she knew there was nothing he couldn’t handle. Layla quickly replied, “Anything is fine.”

Rosa smiled and said, “Then I’ll bake some of Prince Atlas’s favorite snacks. If you like him, you’ll probably like his favorite snacks, too.”

Chapter 162

Layla couldn’t help but think, “That’s kind of a logic loop

Layla instinctively wanted to deny it, to say she didn’t like Atlas. But the words just caught in her throat and refused to come

out.

Because the truth was, she couldn’t deny it at all; she really did like November, and she loved how it felt to be around him.

A drop-dead gorgeous fox shifter who only has eyes for you, how could anyone ever say no? Layla thought.

Honestly, Layla knew she never stood a chance of saying no to him.

Layla followed Rosa into the kitchen, offering to help.

Rosa quickly waved her off. She said, “Even if I don’t call you Consort Layla, I can’t let you do any chores. Baking is my thing. If you’re bored, just hang out and chat with me. If you’re curious about Prince Atlas’s youth, ask anyway?

Layla blinked in surprise. She asked, “Didn’t Prince Atlas spend most of his childhood being looked after by AI?”

Rosa kneaded the dough, her voice nostalgic. She said, “Due to Alpha Prime’s strict rules and Prince Atlas’s gifts, robots raised him. Experts and doctors constantly tested him, so he rarely saw his mom.

“But Her Majesty was worried about him, so she had me take care of him for a while. Since I was just a servant, nobody really noticed me. I even took a few pictures of Atlas when he was a kid.”

Once the dough was set aside to rise, Rosa pulled out her optical computer and brought up a whole gallery of photos and videos.

Layla’s eyes widened as she scrolled through them; baby Atlas was so cute it was almost criminal.

Pale-skinned, with those gorgeous blue eyes, he looked like a little angel. And those tiny, fluffy fox ears, plus nine big, puffy tails. Layla could barely handle the cuteness overload.

Layla asked tentatively, “Can I save these?”

“Of course,” Rosa replied without hesitation, sending all files to Layla. While she was uploading the files, she said. “I know being married to royalty isn’t easy. Prince Atlas is probably keeping things under wraps to protect you, so don’t worry too much about it.”

Layla was lost for words.

‘No, Ms. Lowe, you’ve got the wrong idea. I’m actually the one who doesn’t want to go public right now,’ Layla thought.

Layla had always been uncertain about her marriage to Atlas. It began chaotically, but over time, she grew accustomed to him. Maybe it was because Atlas spent so much time as November, being with him just felt easier and more natural.

But now, just when things were finally settling down, Layla discovered her real father, and he was actually part of the rebels

Layla let out a quiet sigh.

‘Honestly, there’s no telling if Atlas and I will ever really make it, she thought.

So, better save all these photos and videos. If they ever split up, at least she would have his super cute childhood pics to look at whenever she was feeling down.

Outside Leilani’s private residence, November appeared suddenly, his face hidden behind a mask. Kane, being supported by his entourage, immediately got fired up. He pointed at November and yelled, “That bastard just hit me. He must’ve hacked the defense system’s optical computer. Grab him.”

As soon as Kane finished, several stellar rangers rushed forward. But in the blink of an eye, November sent them flying with

a single blow.

The commander leading the stellar rangers shouted, “Mechs, now.”

November couldn’t risk exposing his real identity, so using Ares was out of the question. But for these small fries, even at standard mech suit was more than enough.

He just grabbed an S-Tier mech suit and, in no time, had the whole squad flattened.

The massive mech suit fixed Kane, Garrett, and the others with an icy glare.

“This is Her Majesty’s private residence. No one is allowed to trespass,” November said inside the mech.

Commander Gary Wilde, standing next to Kane, narrowed his eyes. He asked, “With a shift tier like that, who the hell are you?”

“I’m Prince Atlas’s adjutant. His orders are absolute; anyone who dares set foot here gets wiped out, no mercy,” November replied coldly.
