Chapter 55
Atlas frowned slightly, but just then, Hanna and Angelina came in with a servant.
Hanna was about the same age as Leilani. They had been roommates back in school and had always been close.
Hanna was gentle and sweet, with a soft smile. “There were so many people earlier, we didn’t dare come over.”
“Why not? I was about to lose my mind with all those boring conversations. They were just using my birthday as an excuse to talk business, and honestly, I can’t stand it. You two should’ve come to rescue me sooner,” Leilani said with a smile.
She told the servant to pour some juice and milk for Hanna and Angelina.
Angelina greeted Leilani politely, then turned to Atlas with a smile. “Atlas, didn’t you bring your girlfriend?”
As soon as she said that, everyone in the room suddenly went quiet.
Leilani shot a look over, while Hanna looked a bit surprised. “Angelina, what are you talking about?”
Your Majesty, Mom, I went to hang out with Atlas the other day and saw him bringing a really pretty girl home. I just figured she must be his girlfriend,” Angelina said.
Hanna froze for a second.
Leilani, meanwhile, didn’t even blink. She just picked up her juice and took a small sip.
Atlas was clearly a little irritated and shot it down immediately. “She’s not my girlfriend. Mom, you guys go ahead. I’m out of
here.
With that, he got up and walked out.
Angelina was taken aback for a moment. “Maybe I made Atlas mad. I’ll go apologize to him,” she said.
With that, she quickly followed him out.
Hanna looked a bit guilty. “Sorry, Angelina’s not usually this forward. I’m not sure what got into her just now.”
Leilani didn’t seem bothered at all. “Maybe she just cares about Atlas and wanted to ask a few more questions. Atlas is always like that, so don’t worry. If the kids have a little disagreement, let them sort it out themselves.”
Hanna was never good at hiding her feelings. She’d always hoped Angelina could end up with Atlas. After hesitating for a moment, she finally asked, “Your Majesty, does Atlas really have a girlfriend?”
“No girlfriend,” Leilani replied.
Just a wife now, she thought.
Leilani gave a faint smile, suddenly curious. ‘Atlas really moves fast. Has he already brought Layla home? No wonder he’s been in such a good mood today, she thought.
But when Atlas stepped out of the lounge, his lips were pressed tight, not looking particularly happy, just his usual reserved self.
Angelina caught up to him. “Atlas, please don’t be upset. It’s my fault for being so blunt. I didn’t mean anything by it, I just worry about you.”

I’m not mad,” Atlas replied.
“Then why did you walk out all of a sudden?” Angelina asked.
Atlas felt a bit exasperated seeing Angelina like this. He always wore that serious expression. She knew him well enough by
now.
Socializing was never his thing, especially when it came to women.
But Angelina had saved him when they were kids, and Hanna and his mom were close friends. So Atlas kept his voice steady. “Angelina, I left because the military needed me. The rebels are causing trouble again.”
Angelina realized this was serious business. No wonder Atlas had to leave right away, not even sticking around for Leilani’s birthday.
She’d actually been worried he was mad at her.
“Go take care of it, then. Don’t let me hold you up. I’ll be staying on Alpha Prime for a while, so we can catch up when you have time,” she said.
Atlas kept silent. He just turned and walked away.
Angelina realized Atlas still treated her just like he always had, and she felt relieved.
When she turned around, she saw Krish standing there in a gold and white formal suit, looking at her with a gentle smile.
Angelina’s cheeks flushed as she gave a small bow. “Greetings, Your Highness.”
Krish watched Atlas walk away, then turned to Angelina with a smile. “Angelina, we meet again. Care to take a walk in the garden?”
“Sure,” she smiled.
Atlas had already left the palace, and as he sat in his aero-vehicle, he found himself thinking about what Angelina had said earlier.
Honestly, as his wife, Layla should’ve been by his side at his mother’s birthday party.
But Atlas figured that if he suddenly paraded Layla in front of all those royals and ministers, she’d probably be terrified.
It might even put her in danger.
“Zee, why are you so quiet today?” Atlas asked.
When Atlas was at home, Zee would hang out in the housekeeping bot.
If Atlas went out, he’d bring Zee along on his optical computer.
Zee could never stop talking, always making a fuss, which drove Atlas nuts. He’d just hit mute to get some peace and quiet.
But today, Zee was totally silent. Atlas checked, mute wasn’t even on.
“Did you get a virus or something?” Atlas asked.
“Mr. Zimmer, I’m heartbroken,” Zee replied.
Atlas was speechless. “Zee, you do realize you’re an AI, right?”

Zee whimpered, “I know I’m a high-level AI, but I’m still the most sentimental one on all of Alpha Prime.”
Atlas snorted, “Come on, nobody’s going to fall for an AI. We’re not even the same kind, heartbreak is just your destiny.”
Zee froze for a few seconds, running a quick analysis, then blurted out, “Mr. Zimmer, the one I like is an Al, too. Why would it not like me?”
“Didn’t you just say you got dumped? If it doesn’t hate you, then why are you heartbroken?” Atlas replied, sounding a bit puzzled.
Zee whimpered.
Atlas’s head was about to explode. He couldn’t even figure out his own life, and now he had to listen to an AI whining about
romance.
He pressed his lips together. “Cut the crap. Track that signal I asked you to follow, where is it now?”
“Yes, Mr. Zimmer,” Zee replied.
Zee immediately started digging through the data, then suddenly exclaimed in surprise, “Whoa, the signal’s actually at Imperial Academy? Mr. Zimmer, should I let the principal know?”
“Where exactly at Imperial Academy?” Atlas asked.
“Dorm 922 in the Mech Engineering Division. Holy crap. That’s Mrs. Zimmer’s dorm.” Zee blurted out.
Atlas’s eyes went cold in an instant. “Change course, and head straight to Imperial Academy. And patch me through to Principal Davis Taylor’s optical computer, now.”
“Yes, Mr. Zimmer,” Zee replied.
While Atlas was racing toward Imperial Academy, Layla blinked in surprise at the old guy standing in her doorway.
“Wait, Weston? How’d you even know I was here?” Layla asked, still a bit stunned.
“So you get to use your little bee drone to track me, but I can’t track you? Layla, everything you know, I taught you. And Zaa? That’s my handiwork,” Weston said proudly.
Layla’s mouth twitched. ‘I really let my guard down. Next time, I’ll just format Zaa and redesign its program from scratch, she thought.
Weston snorted, “Too late. You already activated it. Formatting it now would be like killing it. You don’t have it in you, kid.”
As he spoke, he strolled right into the dorm.
Layla suddenly realized Annie was still in her room, but Weston had already barged in without a care.

Chapter 56
Annie was munching on snacks and watching a movie when she blinked, curiosity all over her face. “So, who are you?”
Tm Layla’s-“Weston started.
“He’s my elder. We met at the orphanage,” Layla jumped in.
Annie looked Weston up and down for a while, then finally said, “Layla, he looks kinda old.”
Weston just smiled, not the least bit offended.
But Layla knew him all too well. The brighter his smile, the more trouble he was about to stir up.
“Hey, Annie, looks like your optical computer’s acting up. Let me take a look,” Weston said, still grinning.
Annie shot him a suspicious look. “It’s not broken. I just turned it off.”
“Trust me, there’s definitely something wrong. Go ahead, turn it on and see for yourself,” Weston insisted.
Layla quickly jumped in. “Don’t listen to him. Just keep watching your movie.”
But Annie was a cat shifter, and her curiosity was impossible to resist
Weston’s words only made her itch to know more, so she gave in and powered up her optical computer. The virtual screen lit up, and notifications started popping up like crazy.
They were all from her family, worried sick and trying to track her down. Annie hadn’t replied to any of them, her optical computer had been off, and she was nowhere to be found in her dorm.
The Knight family was even threatening to call the police if she didn’t respond soon.
“Why are they spamming me with so many messages? So annoying.” Annie grumbled.
“I can set up a program to block all that useless junk for you,” Weston offered.
Layla was already getting a headache. “Weston, can you not mess around?”
But Annie’s curiosity got the better of her. “You can really make a program to block all these messages? So I won’t have to keep turning my optical computer off?”
“Of course. You see that advanced Al optical computer Layla’s got? I built it myself,” Weston said with a proud grin.
Annie glanced at Layla. She’d seen Layla use Zaa before, and yeah, Weston really was the one who invented it.
She nodded, a little helpless.
“Alright then.” Annie’s eyes lit up. “Hurry up and set it up for me.”
“Alright,” Weston replied.
Layla was still worried, but since she couldn’t stop him, she just kept a close eye on him the whole time. Weston didn’t sneak in any weird stuff, he even hooked Annie up with the latest mini-games and a virtual movie theater.
“Wow. This is awesome,” Annie exclaimed.
“But the virtual movie theater is best if you use it alone in your dorm. And if you’re worried about your family coming to look for you, you can chill.
