However, Ronald remained calm, not reacting at all. He occasionally leaned in to speak quietly with his assistant, as if discussing something, completely ignoring Aidan.
The auctioneer asked several times, but no one responded. Many in the audience turned toward the back, seeing the calm demeanor of the person back there and likely understanding what was happening.
“Is there anyone willing to bid higher than 350 million?”
With each inquiry from the auctioneer, Aidan’s anxiety tightened. Damn it, why hasn’t he raised his paddle yet?
After a few more rounds of questioning, the auctioneer began the countdown.
“350 million, going once.”
Aidan’s face turned ashen.
“350 million, going twice.”
His forehead was covered in cold sweat.
“350 million, going three times.”
As the auctioneer’s hammer fell, Aidan had turned ghostly pale.
“Sold. Congratulations to our third guest for winning the bid on Harbor Zone No. 1.”
The room erupted into applause, all eyes focused on Aidan. Yet, the looks they gave him were filled with mockery disguised as smiles.
Jane and the appraiser didn’t fare much better. His face was as white as a sheet. It’s over! How can I explain this to Mr. Whitewood?
Jane felt like she was about to cry.
Seraphina’s cold voice echoed in their ears. “Smile. Don’t embarrass the Whitewood Family and its reputation.”
Hearing this, Jane quickly forced a smile. Though it was stiff and awkward, the person had a brave face.

Seraphina gave Aidan a harsh pinch, and he finally snapped out of his daze, managing a forced smile and accepting the congratulations from everyone.
The general manager of Hall Corporation stepped forward, patting Aidan’s shoulder with a smile. “Mr. Aidan, you really are impressive.”
A real estate mogul, grinning from ear to ear, says, “Mr. Aidan, you have guts. It seems the Whitewood Group has someone worthy to carry on the legacy.”
“Mr. Aidan is excellent, just like Mr. Whitewood himself,” another added.
Faced with all the praise, Aidan wanted nothing more than to dig a hole and crawl into it. He could clearly hear the true thoughts behind their words, and he knew they were all mocking him inside.
“Let’s go,” Seraphina said coldly.
The four of them quickly left the venue, but as they arrived at the door, Aidan saw Ronald straight ahead. His anger flared up instantly.
Without thinking, he stormed forward and punched Ronald without any warning.
Ronald was caught off guard, taking the full force of the punch to his face.
His assistant quickly reacted, shoving Aidan away while angrily shouting, “What do you’re doing?”

The loud shout drew the attention of everyone around. It was the end of the event, and the hallway was filled with company executives and senior staff.
Everyone stared wide–eyed, watching Aidan rush forward like a wild bull, attacking Ronald.
A certain CEO murmured, “If the Whitewood Family is handed over to this kid, it will meet its doom.”
“Oberon really raised a good son.”
“An adopted son is more arrogant and audacious than the real heir. Quite impressive.”
“What a disgrace.”
Seraphina was stunned, completely not expecting this fool to be this reckless. The fact that the Whitewood Family hadn’t collapsed yet was nothing short of a miracle.
Jane and the appraiser both held their foreheads in disbelief, leading to her ready to lay a hand
on Aidan.

Aidan pointed a finger at Ronald. “You’d better watch out.”
Aidan turned to leave, but Seraphina stepped in front of him, pointing in Ronald’s direction. “Apologize.”
“Apologize to him?” Aidan snapped. “Why should I?”
