Ryan’s pov

“I am the Luna of this pack! What I say goes!” I hear Kimberly’s loud screech the second I draw closer to the chaos.

They were in the halls and had drawn a little crowd.

“We demand to speak to the alpha,” Gavin sneered, his power radiating off of him. But his presence isn’t the one that hit me like a huge wave. It was hers.

Her scent hits me before I even see her. Vanilla bean and warm honey. I can’t help it, I breathed it in deeply. Goosebumps rise on my skin instantly.

That scent. It does something to me.

My chest tightens.

The small crowd that surrounded them parts when they spot me. Kimberly stands a few feet away from them, her body tensed with anger as our warriors stand beside her protectively.

Across from her, unbothered and cold, stood Gavin. And beside him…..the head warrior.

She stands straight and composed, yet, there’s something dangerous inside her that stirs beneath. It was the kind of calmness a predator would have right before they strike their prey. Right before they attack.

In this case…. Kimberly was the prey.

As if sensing me getting closer, her eyes flicker in my direction and they meet mine instantly and everything including everyone else fades into the background. My wolf suddenly stirs and my head throbs sharply.

For a moment a vision pushes into my mind. A teen version of her running through the forest as her giggles rush into the air while I chase after her. She didn’t look much younger than she is now. But as fast as the image appeared it vanished just as swiftly, preventing me from grasping the true meaning behind it.

Pain explodes behind my temples and I stagger slightly. What the fuck-

“Ryan!” Kimberly rushes toward me the second she notices my presence beside her. “Thank the moon goddess you’re here. Your guests are being completely disrespectful, “Her hand grabs my arm possessively.

The contact barely catches in my mind because my attention is still locked on the woman standing across me. The woman who stirs my wolf in ways no other has ever done before.

“Ryan,” Kimberly snaps impatiently, squeezing my arm tighter to grasp my attention. “Tell them to stand down. The head warrior threatened your Luna.”

My gaze slowly shifts from the woman to Kimberly who looks rather smug that I am beside her.

“You threatened my Luna?” I ask the woman as my eyes drift back to her almost immediately.

Her expression doesn’t change, She just lifts one brow slightly as though she was unimpressed. Like she doesn’t care that I am standing right here and that I am an alpha. Anyone else would bow.

My wolf stirs, impressed that she wouldn’t back down.

“Your Luna,” she snarls under her breath. “Refused to let us speak to you about the shitty ass room

accommodation.”

My eyebrows caise in shock at her tone. She was merely a warrior, yet she spoke without a tremor of fear in her

voice.

It stirs my wolf….but in ways I can’t admit.

“Shitty room accommodation?” I question her, a bit confused. I had some of my park members prepare rooms for them each. Clean rooms with everything they’d need.

What more do they want?

“One room with beds that cry under a slight touch isn’t showing hospitality,” Gavin sneers and takes a step forward. I straighten, my wolf moves within me, not liking that he was almost challenging me. And also not liking that he was so close to….her. The head warrior of his pack.

Why was my wolf acting that way?

Why did he dislike that Gavin was so close to the woman?

“Is that how you treat another alpha, Ryan?” He spits out, seeming to be very displeased. “This room isn’t even ideal for rogues, far less my powerful warriors. Should I discuss this with the council?”

I stiffen. “I had my people prepare rooms for every single one of you….” My eyes flicker back to the woman because for some odd reason, I can’t seem to keep my eyes away from her. “There’s no need to trouble the council with such petty things-

“We got one room!” The woman snarls, her face flushing with anger. Instead of feeling challenged and disrespected, I fee…….aroused. Fuck. Fucking hell. What the fuck was wrong with me? What the hell was going on?

I am married and mated to Kimberly. Not even Kimberly has ever aroused me before. Which was one of the reasons why I could never fully mate her.

But this woman. One stare at her and I am hard-

“One dusty dirty room!” She continues to spit out angrily. My cock stirs in my pants and I cuss myself inwardly, hoping it wasn’t noticeable.

Fuck

My wolf presses against my mind. The poor beast is restless and alert in a way I have never felt before. His attention is locked entirely on her, every instinct inside him immersed by her solely. The shocking part….I am too.

Why is this woman rousing me like this?

1 drag a slow breath through my nose and her scent floods my senses again. Vanilla bean and warm honey, thick and intoxicating like something I could drown myself in. My jaw tightens, the muscle throbbing.

Focus Ryan.

“You’re telling me,” I say slowly, forcing my voice to be calm and hoping the strain of yearning wasn’t in my voice. “That my people placed all of you in one room?”

“Yes,” Gavin answers coldly.

My eyes flicker to the woman again. Her arms are crossed over her chest now, her stance rigid as if she’s prepared for a fight. Her hair spills over her shoulders beautifully and those sharp eyes never once waver from mine.

Her dominance stirs me even more. Fucking hell.

“Treated like pure animals,” she raged, eyes turning into slits. “But I guess I shouldn’t expect any less from the alpha of the Silver Blood pack.”.
