Kimberly’s pov

Silence filled the dungeon for a stilling second before Hannah’s eyes widened when my words finally registered to

her.

“The… vampire king?” she repeated, her voice dropping even lower as if she was afraid to even mention him. She clearly had not expected me to mention him at all.

My lips curled into something dark. “Yes.”

The name alone sent a ripple of unease through the air. Even my mother let out a staggering breath.

“That’s not a small move, Kimberly,” she said carefully from her cell. “You’re talking about aligning yourself with a creature the council has been trying to wipe out for years. A creature that nearly wiped out this entire pack clean.”

I let out a hollow laugh, my fingers still pressed tightly against my burning mark. If he continues this the mark would start to disappear in a few days then I’d be nothing. No title. No power. No more a Luna.

“Good,” I muttered. “Then maybe he’ll be more than happy to help me destroy them all.”

Because that’s what this was now. This was war. This was revenge against Evie and Ryan.

“He locked me in here like I was nothing,” I continued, my voice gaining some bit of strength despite the pain tearing through me. “He’s stripping me bare of my position. My title. My fucking dignity. And he’s going to give it to her.” I utter bitterly. “I know he will.”

My eyes lifted, blazing with untamed fury. “I won’t make them win.”

“I won’t make her win,” I hissed.

Hannah shifted closer to the metal bars, her voice unsure now. “Kimberly, if you go that route…there would be no coming back. Not to the pack. Not to your old life. The council, the werewolves will turn on you-”

“I don’t want my old life,” I snapped immediately before she even finished her words.

That life?

The one where I stood beside Ryan while he looked at another woman like she was his world? My very own sister? The one who was less than me? I was everything she could never imagine to be, yet….he chose her.

That life where I had to constantly fight for scraps of attention from him that were never truly mine? I don’t want it anymore. I want vengeance. I want to see them both crumble. Because if I couldn’t be happy and have power, then no one would. No one.

“I was his Luna,” I said bitterly, my voice getting quieter now but still swirled with toxic venom. “And he still chose her.”

I don’t care if she was his fated mate. I had been stronger. I had been the prettier one! I was born for this, dammit!

Another wave of pain hit my chest and I gasped, doubling over slightly. This time it felt so much worse. The scorching was unbearable.

“Kim!” Hannah gasped in shock.

I gritted my teeth. “He’s already rejecting me in his head. His fucking wolf.”

Another sharp sting tears through my mark and a painful groan left my throat as I grip the bars so hard my knuckles turned white.

“My darling daughter, ” mom whispered. “If I had gotten rid of her sooner, this wouldn’t be happening to you.”

I shook my head as hot rage clouded my vision.” If he wants her,” I said icily as I lifted my chin despite the tears still clinging to my lashes. “Then he can fucking have her.”

A slow, cruel smile spread across my lips. “But he’ll lose everything else.”

His pack. His people. His life and…..her.

“All of it,” I murmured coldly.

My gaze lifted and locked onto Hannah’s. She stares at me as if waiting for a command and I give her one.

“Go to the council,” I ordered. “Tell them everything.”
