The Alpha Who Never Loved Me (Serena and Kieran) novel Chapter 115

Chapter 115

Kieran

I got home later in the morning.

The housekeeper was already present and doing her work. But Serena was nowhere to be found. Perhaps she was still asleep.

I walked to the bedroom and then pushed the door open, but the bed was empty. I walked to the bathroom and pushed the door opened but was met with nothing.

“Serena!” I yelled out her name.

What sort of sick game is this?

I looked around the house and asked the housekeeper where she wasI according to her, she had. It met anyone in the house when she arrived and so she started doing

her work.

My chest tightened.

Serena was nowhere to be found. Why would sh

something happen?

Had she forgotten about the contract she signed?

She was gone.

I pulled my phone out, dialed her number.

It rang. It rang again. It rang four times, five, six.

No answer.

My jaw locked.

I called again. Straight to voicemail this time.

The hospital was where she would be. Her mother was still there. Her father was staying in the room with her. If Serena left my house then she must’ve gone to me ther

parents.

I walked into the hospital for the second time. The nurse at the front desk nodded at me; she recognized me from earlier. I went up to my mother-in-law’s private ward.

knocked. The door opened. Her father stood there.

“Kieran? At this hour?” He looked at me with a strange

gaze.

“Is Serena here?” I asked impatiently looking around the room for my wife.

His face changed.

“No. Why would she be here so early in the morning?”

My stomach dropped.

“Frederick, I am going to need you to think carefully. Has she called you? Has she come by? Has anyone mentioned

her?”

“No, Kieran. What is going on?” His face slowly contorted

into worry.

My mother-in-law stirred on the bed. Her eyes opened, she looked at the door, she looked at me.

“Serena?” Her voice was thin. “Is something wrong with

Serena?”

her phone. I thought she came to you.”

“She did not come to us.” Her father stepped out into the corridor, closed the door behind him. “Kieran, what emergency? Where did you go in the middle of the

night?”

I turned my face away from him. The last thing I wanted to talk about was Sophie. I just needed to find where Serena was and what she was doing.

“Kieran,” Frederick said. His voice was low, careful. “You schemed your way into getting my daughter back into your life only for you to repeat the things you used to do to her, why kind of suffering is this? Did she do anything to you to deserve this?”

I was opening my mouth to respond when the door suddenly opened. I turned around and saw Serena standing next to Misha.

The distance between them was nonexistent, looking like a couple deeply in love.

They were laughing about something. Serena’s hand was qn her belly. Misha was tall beside her, his head leaned down slightly to listen to whatever she was saying.

They looked at ease.

My blood went cold.

Cora surged up through my chest. A snarl caught in the back of my throat. My blood boiled.

“What is going on here?” I angrily advanced towards

them.

Serena’s head snapped up.

Her face changed the moment she saw me. The laugh disappeared. Her spine straightened.

“Kieran.”

“What are you doing here? With him?”

Misha stepped slightly in front of her. His face was calm.

“Serena was kind enough to have a conversation with me,” Misha said. “She wanted to speak privately.”

“About what?”

“Kieran.” Serena’s voice cut in. “I came to introduce Misha to my parents.”

My heartbeat faltered. “Introduce him?”

She nodded her heads “Formally as my child’s father.”

What the…

I turned my head slowly, looked at her. Her chin was up. Her hand was still on her belly. Her eyes held mine with a steady, challenging look.

“You came to introduce Misha to your parents as what,

Serena?”

She kept her eyes locked on me and her lips sealed like she owed me not even a short explanation for her actions.

“You are my wife,” I said; my voice was low, as I grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to me and away from him. “You signed a contract last week, Serena. Do you remember it? You do not speak to Misha outside of work. You do not introduce him to anyone. You do not-”

“Kieran, please.” Misha stepped between us, his hand 6/11

raised. “Do not hurt her. She is pregnant.”

I turned my head to him.

“Where were you?”

He blinked rapidly. “What?”

“Where were you, Misha? When my wife was in a cell. When she was pregnant in a holding room with no lawyer, no visitors, no one to advocate for her. Where were you?”

Misha’s face stilled.

“I was at the hospital, Kieran. I did not know—”

“You did not know?” I let out a short laugh. “Your colleague, the woman you claim to have a child with, was arrested and thrown in jail and you, the supposed father of that child, did not know?”

Misha looked at Serena.

“Serena. You were in jail?”

The expression on her face changed, from a stubborn defiance, it transformed into a soft look that used to be

only for me.

“It was nothing. I did not want to worry you.”

He shook his head and stepped closer to her. “Serena, you were in jail?”

“Something happened.” Her voice was careful. “I did not want to tell you. I handled it.” She forced a smile at him.

They were standing too close. Her shoulder was almost brushing his. She was looking up at him like they were more than colleagues and almost like they were in love.

Impossible!

I grabbed her hand, pulled her behind me, and stepped in front of her.

“Stay away,” I said to Misha. “You do not talk to her, you do not stand near her, you do not call her phone. If I see you near my wife outside of the hospital-”

The door was pushed open again and this time, Sophie stepped into the room.

with relief.

“Kieran.” She walked toward us. Her face was pale and her hair was tied back. “The caregiver you sent is not doing a good job. She keeps asking me questions. She will not let me sleep. Ethan woke up twice asking for you-”

Serena’s hand pulled out of mine.

My eyes found her but hers were placed on Misha before it trailed back to me.
