The Alpha Who Never Loved Me (Serena and Kieran) novel Chapter 154

Chapter 154

Kieran

I stood in the kitchen and looked at the food.

The sauce was still warm in the pan. The cake sat on the dining table along with the pasta that must’ve gone cold and the sauce. She had taken the jewelry box with her, but everything else was left behind without a second glance..

Cora scraped at the inside of my ribs, pressing without direction, circling without purpose.

I glanced at the room she had walked in to get her things and then towards the elevator she walked without turning back.

Her words had made me freeze. Never had I thought of it in that manner. The only thing I wanted to do was show her effort, make her see that I wanted this marriage to work. There were too many things at stake.

But one look at everything she left. How was I to know she wouldn’t want something I had already done for Sophie?

She had complained before the Sophie got a cake from me and all that, then I do the same thing for her but she doesn’t want it?

Instead she just left. That’s not happening. She couldn’t just1 5:48

near the entrance talking to Jenna. They both looked up when they heard me.

“What are you two doing together?” I asked looking between them.

Jenna parted her lips about to say something but impatience was riding in me. “Have you seen Serena?”

Trevor’s eyes moved from me to Jenna, then back.

“No,” Jenna said. “Why? What happened?”

Seeing as they had not, there was no need to stay back. I walked out of the lobby and towards my car parked.

I got into the car and started the engine, but before I could pull out, the passenger seat door opened and Trevor entered.

“Where are you going?” he said.

“To find Serena.” I said already pulling out.

“Kieran, what happened? Did your dinner plan not work?”

I glared at him hearing the sound of laughter right at the back of his voice. I shook my head. “She did not like it and so she left.”

Trevor looked at me for a second before his mouth opened and 48

I rolled my eyes, but still keeping them on the road.

“I told you she wouldn’t be won over by a cake. I told you that you don’t know her anymore.” His voice was direct and I hated it. “And you went ahead and did it anyway.”

“This was the effort everyone kept talking about. So I wanted to show her effort, but all she said was Sophie had received it before she did. What sense did that even make?”

He tsked lightly and shook his head slowly. “The only thing you can give Serena right now that she actually wants is a divorce, and you know that and you still-”

“She is not getting a divorce.” I turned hard onto the main road. “That is never happening.”

“Then she’s never coming back.”

“Shut up.”

“Kieran-”

“I said shut up, Trevor,”

He relaxed back, keeping his eyes on the window,

side of the door, his eyes shifting from friendly to cold.

“Kieran,” he called my name without any form of familiarity. “What brings you here?”

“I need to see Serena,” I said. “Please. I just need to talk to her.”

He shook his head. “She’s not here.”

The ease and speed at which he answered told me he was lying.

“I need-”

“She’s not here, Kieran.” He stepped back from the door and in that second, Sylvia appeared behind him.

She looked at me with her arms crossed and her chin

up, her

eyes steady and giving nothing. “You should leave,” she said.

I pressed regardless of their suggestions. “I just want to speak to her. It was an argument. Married people argue-”

“An argument?” Sylvia’s voice was flat. “My daughter has been in that marriage for years and I have watched her bend herself in half trying to hold it together while you paraded another woman through her home.” She stepped forward, past Frederick. “If Serena has run, she has finally chosen herself over you. And I am glad, I am glad she’s finally done it.” She held my gaze. “Now leave. And if you come back to this door looking for heg I will call the pack council and make your affair with that:48

“Give her a divorce,” Frederick said from behind his wife. His voice was quiet and flat.

“She’s not getting a divorce.” I replied immediately.

Sylvia looked at me for one more second. Then she stepped back and closed the door.

“Fuck!” I yelled out.

Serena was definitely inside. Why else would they be so calm knowing their daughter was not at her own home. She was there and they were hiding her from me. .

Trevor put a hand on my shoulder. “She’s not here, Kieran. Let’s go.”

Go where? How could she not be here?

“She told me she was coming here, she is definitely inside.”

“Do you want to break the door down?” He asked me sarcastically. “Why if she lied knowing you’d come look for her. Perhaps she is not actually here.”

That was a possibility. She might’ve lied and the reason her parents were so calm was because they knew she was fine. So that meant she was somewhere, with a friend they knew about.
