COLT POV
Her green eyes lit up as we geared up. I’m reminded that she isn’t this weak woman I keep trying to paint her out to be in my mind. I know she’s strong, and I know she’s been through a lot.
I keep remembering losing her, remembering the feeling of her being taken, remembering the pain
I felt watching her slowly die. When I think about these things I try too hard to protect her from it
happening again. So much so that I actually lost it on her before she was taken away from me
again!
“Freya.” I grabbed her hands in mine “keep your anger, we will need it but just know I love you and
I’m sorry for fighting you yesterday.”
She smiled, her glowing eyes still burning, “We will talk about it when they’re dead.”
I love my wife.
Side by side we moved to put this plan in motion. I’ve gotten word from a guard that the moon dust is working, for how long though none of us know.
We need to lure these demons to the arena area, where our trap is set up.
When Freya and I got there we were greeted by Damon and his men plus many of mine, who built
our trap.
You could hear the fighting getting closer. So far, the plan is working. There’s men in battle stations
that make a direct line to where we are.
It’s dark so we are banking on the moonlight helping us here.
Growls and screams flood the area up to us. We brace as we can hear that our area is next in line.
On cue, several vamps burst through the bushes. Followed by more and more. I would venture to guess we are looking at about fifty.
We stand our ground, waiting. They begin charging at us and then they suddenly stop, shortly
before where we need them to be.
They part slightly down the middle and through the bushes comes the she demon herself.
“Thought you killed my, didn’t you Princess?” She said with a snarl as she gave my wife a pet name.
“For a moment, I know to go ask the way through this time though.” Freya barked back with disdain for this b***h dripping off her tongue.
“Mighty cocky of you to think you’ll actually get to kill me.” She hissed at Freya.

“What’s your name?” Freya asked, catching all of us off guard. I looked over at her, her eyes didn’t
leave the woman though.
The woman eyed her, wondering what importance her name was, “Lilith.” She finally responded.
Freya smiled, the look almost scary to even me. Her eyes glowing and a smile that told me she
was going to enjoy killing this woman.
“Lilith.” She said, her voice sounding dark. If I didn’t know my wife well enough I’d say she was
possessed.
After a little stare off between her and Freya, Lilith raised her hand and said “Kill them.”
We stayed right where we were. Once they crossed the barrier of where we wanted them a small army of our pack jumped out of the bushes behind them blocking them between us.
Freya placed the shield around our pack and Damon’s men. They couldn’t touch us, immediately the vamps realized the trouble. Unfortunately for them, it was too late.
The night brought on a cover for our trap. Dropped down all around us was a cage made of logs.
Lilith, not realizing the same as her crew, began laughing, “You fools. Now you’re trapped in here
with us!”
Freya and I laughed, sparking the laughter and howls of every man inside with us, “Don’t be mistaken, it is not us who is trained with you. Now you are trapped in here with us.” Freya growled. The tone in her voice made her almost unrecognizable, but she was still my wife. She really is quite
a beast when she needs to be.
I howled and the battle enraged.
Two came for me, they tried to lunge at me. I pulled out two stakes and while dodging one I staked the other. I turned and staked the second before he could come back at me again. I ran forward and staked a third while I pulled my sword out and slashed at the neck of the fourth. As his as his
head rolled to the fifth.
He dodged my sword but was met by my other hand with a stake. A sixth jumped on my back and tried to bite me, but couldn’t. I grabbed him and threw him over my shoulders and his back hit the ground. I drove a stake through his heart and looked around trying to find Freya.
Briefly I could see that she was fighting a couple vamps but I couldn’t focus long before I was tackled by a couple. They’re tiny creatures, I stood up with both of them on my back, flipped one over me and stomped on his head while I flipped the other over next to him. Staked both, then
headed towards Freya.
I dropped a couple more by the time I got to her. She stood there with a circle of bodies around
her.

The fighting began to calm down and I realized the amount of vamps dropped quickly. Lilith stood in the same spot she was in before, just watching it all.
Freya looked over at her, blood sprayed over her face.
Dawn was close already. As the fighting came to an end, Freya and Lilith never took their eyes off each other.
“Aren’t you going to sacrifice me?” Freya asked. Her voice littered with sarcasm.
Lilith grew desperate. She tried to use her charm.
“Moon dust or not, you can’t use your mind s**t on me.” Freya said.
I stepped closer to Freya.
“Not while I’m here anyways.” I watched the desperation grow in Lilith’s eyes.
“I will kill you, you mutt!” She screamed as she ran toward Freya.
