FREYA POV

He turned and smirked at me when she left. “I like seeing your fire.” he said to me as he started walking over to me. “Oh no.” I put my hand up for him to stop, “you’re not getting off that easy, Alpha.” He gave me a confused look, “What now?”

“Where have you been the last two nights if you haven’t been in your own bed?” clearly he’s been sleeping somewhere else. “Is that a little jealousy I see?” he chuckled full of humor. It just angered me.

“Seriously Colt.” I took a step back from him, “Have you really been off with someone else every night? Because I know you haven’t been with me all night like I said!” He stepped forward, “The first night you got here I didn’t sleep, I went out and hunted.” he motioned to an invisible table “that’s what we ate at breakfast yesterday morning.”

I motioned for him to go on. There’s still another night he hasn’t told me about yet. He sighed, rubbed his hand over his mouth and then shifted his feet a little, “Freya last night I was outside your hut all night.” He could obviously tell I was shocked by that.

“I convinced myself I needed to stand watch in case those guys came back.” he rubbed the back of his neck, I’m beginning to realize he does that when he’s a little nervous, “In reality I spent the whole damn night trying to convince myself to go be with you inside.” he sighed. I can’t lie, I was shocked.

That wasn’t what I was expecting. Is he being serious? “I know I just met you, Freya.” I’m not sure if he continued just because I wasn’t speaking or because he felt he needed to say this, but either way he seemed very serious.

“I’m not sure how your pack is and how you were raised, but we believe in the goddess’s choices for us. In fact, rejection isn’t legal for our pack unless there’s abuse.”

He walked over and grabbed my hand, “You were made for me and I was made for you. I know you feel you need time but know I don’t.” he kissed my knuckles and looked to my eyes, “I’ll give you your time, but I am and always will be your mate.

I will never reject you.” Yeah, he’s serious. How can someone have such blind faith in the goddess like that? I mean, I know everyone says she doesn’t make mistakes but I’ve seen people torn apart by her choices.

Happy lives ruined. The rejection is made possible by the goddess to correct her mistakes, isn’t it? What am I supposed to say to that? I can’t confess my undying love to this man, I’m still concerned,I still have questions, I still don’t know if I can handle being in this pack and living this way!

Thank goddess, his beta Levi came running up, “Alpha I apologize for the intrusion.” he took a deep breath and continued, “The other Alphas want to meet.

There are concerns about this haze and how powerful it is.” Colt turned to look at me, “I’ve been expecting this to happen.” he grabbed my hands and made me look into his eyes. “If it hits when I am not near you, go to your hut. I will head straight there, and I won’t stop for anything.” he leaned down and kissed my forehead.

COLT POV

There’s service there and each of our vehicles are equipped with phone lines in them so they can call out to whoever you’ve left in charge in your absence.”

It seemed like a good idea to me. Alpha Harland stood, “Those in favor?” It took a moment but everyone ended up agreeing. “Levi, gather the betas from all packs and get ready to head down asap.

Set the expectation that this needs to take place immediately.” I ordered. “Get a head count from the unmatched males in each pack and request that many women from each pack since our pack does not have any unmatched for the season.”

As I was walking out I remembered I’ve apparently had a visitor in my bedroom the past couple nights and she’s supposed to be out now. I figured I’d go up and make sure she listened.

I walked in and noticed some of her things on my dresser and her clothes on my bed. Damn woman was still set up in here! Just as I was about to turn back and leave she opened the bathroom door.

Jasmine was completely naked and dripping wet, clearly just out of the shower. Suddenly I felt it. The heat and desire ripped through me strong. F**k, the haze really has to hit right now?
