The Big Sky Alpha novel Chapter 11

How could he be so pig-headed. I already told him I know and instead of owning up to it he’s sitting here lying to me like I’m an i***t.

“Jasmine found me in the market area today and warned me to stay away from you since you chose her as a mate!” The look on his face angered me, sitting here still acting confused. “

I am not a toy, Alpha. I’d leave and kill us before I let some man treat me like this.” I stood to leave and he stood to follow causing me to sigh heavily.

“Jasmine was supposed to be my haze partner before you showed up.” he said trying to get me to stop walking away, it didn’t work. “This was the first year I let the same woman be my haze partner.” he sighed “trying to avoid one of them thinking I wanted them, actually.” he chuckled “pretty clear I messed that up.

But I’ll fix it Freya!” he said trying to get me to stop again. This time I stopped, “Look Alpha, I don’t know if you are aware of the things said about you between the packs but your reputation with women is especially concerning.” he opened his mouth to speak but I put my hand up, “I can’t do this!”

I turned to keep walking away. “Stop walking away from me little wolf.” he sounded desperate. “You may not want me but I am your mate. Please just calm down enough for us to have a conversation.” he took a deep breath and took my standing still as his queue to proceed.

“I know the rumors about me, in fact I discussed them with your father before you came.” he rubbed his neck as he continued, ” I’ve lived through five hazes before this one. I’ve had a different partner each time, and those are the only times I’ve ever been with anyone. It was only ever for the season.

Jasmine was the last season.” he looked at me and sternly continued. “I did not choose her as a mate though, she just ended up being my haze partner again this season since my pack prepares and chooses haze partners ahead if we’ve not already married or mated to prevent rape.”

I scoffed, sure. “Yeah? Then why is she so sure that you’ve chosen her? And why wouldn’t you have told her about me if you’re so serious about this matter bond?” “I told all of the packs last night that I found my fated mate, as for the chosen part, I don’t know, but I’ll fix it.”

He tilted my chin to look up at him since I haven’t been wanting to make eye contact with him. “I will fix it, I promise.” his thumb stroked my chin before he dropped his hand.

“As for the other rumors about me” he continued “I have never been rough with anyone that didn’t want it and even then.. ” he hesitated but I really wanted to know, this was the biggest issue I had with being his mate, I needed to know.

She stomped, “Oh stop being silly Colt, of course I am.” she looked at me like she just now realized I was there. “I told you to stay away from my mate, b***h!” she snarled. I started walking up to her, hearing Colt try to say again that she’s not his mate. I got closer and she stepped back like I was going to hit her or something.

I stopped short in front of her, staring into her brown eyes. ” Wanna know where he’s been the last two nights?” I asked, not really needing her to answer. “he’s been with me, his fated mate.” the look on her face made me happy for some reason, she looked mad.

“Your services are no longer needed.” I said as I put my hand on my hips. She looked at him in shock, “You’re going to let her talk to me like that?” she snapped out. “She is going to be your Luna.” he added, “So, yeah.” he smirked. I smiled at her.

“Now get you and your s**t out of my mate’s room.” I growled through my teeth. She growled back, “This isn’t over.” “Threaten her again and I will punish you.” growing, he was inches from her face pushing me out of the way before I knew what was happening.

She stood her ground which appeared to piss him off, growls came through this snarled teeth. “You know I’m better than her, I know this pack, I’ve never seen the outside world, I have no temptations to want anything other than you and this pack.” She turned to walk away ending her little speech with, “You’ll see, Alpha. And I’ll be right here waiting for you when you do!”
