136. A true Luna

COLT POV

The bath passed slowly. She just cried most of it. Then she violently scraped her body with the loofa and the soap repeatedly, focusing the most on her face, her neck, and her stomach. The

three areas that he touched.

The water was almost starting to get cold when she finally stood.

“I need out, please.” She said. This wasn’t her asking, she was nicely commanding me to help her get out of the bath. I imagine part of her was still recovering from the effects of whatever drug he

used on her.

I did just as she pleased. I quickly wrapped myself in a towel, not caring to dry myself off at all. I grabbed her a towel and quickly picked her up out of the water. Carefully making sure not to touch her in any sensitive spots. Her poor fair skin was red, bleeding in a couple of spots from her scraping. The white hotel bath towel hit the floor of the room as she pulled on one of the hotel robes. I followed suit. I grabbed the other robe, and I followed her into the main bedroom.

She stood there just staring at the bed. I started thinking maybe she was afraid to sleep, or maybe the drug made her not tired from being passed out. I don’t really know; all I knew was she looked at

that bed like it was an obstacle.

“Are you hungry, Freya?” I asked her. Trying to give her an out, something that could make it so she

didn’t have to get into the bed.

“Actually…” She said, taking in a big breath, and letting out a shaky sigh “I think I just need you to

hold me in the bed for a little bit.”

I looked over at her, “Are you sure? It’s okay if you don’t want to go to bed right now baby.” I said, I

don’t know if anything I was saying or doing was helping her right now. All I wanted to do was help

her.

“Thank you for saving me tonight, Colt. I don’t want to think about what would have happened if

you hadn’t. I want to feel okay, Colt.” She looked up from the bed finally and looked into my eyes. I

swear she was staring directly into my soul. “I need your arms wrapped around me and I need to

be as close to you as I can physically be right now without having you inside me.”

I didn’t expect to hear her say that at all. I think she knew how surprised I was by what she said because she quickly followed with, “I just mean, I’m not ready… I just… I don’t mean…” I held up my hand and shook my head.

“Baby you don’t need to explain. I underst… Well okay, I don’t understand how or what you’re feeling

right now but I do know that you don’t need to explain any of it to me. I will do whatever it is that you need me to do, my love.” I started getting into the bed, keeping my robe on so my naked body

wouldn’t be up against her, then I patted the bed beside me, “If you just need me to hold you in bed,

then hold you in bed is exactly what I will do.”

She gave me a smile that said thank you as she crawled into the bed and curled up in my arms. She didn’t say another word. She lay there just breathing. Hours must have passed before I could finally feel her breathing change and I knew she was sleeping. I kept my arms around her through the night. Nightmares hit a couple of times. She jolted awake each time, but she fell back asleep shortly after.

When the morning sun bore through the windows into our room I began to get out of bed. I had decided that I was just going to talk to Damon today, apologize to him but inevitably I was going to be disappointing him so I could get my wife away from this place and back to our home.

However, Freya had other plans. Once she felt me start to move, too began waking up and getting up to get ready.

“You don’t need to do anything, my love. I am going to let Damon know we’re leaving, and Levi is

going to get us out of here.” I told her.

She shook her head quickly, “No, Colt we need to stay through this wedding. Then we can go home. Our pack needs this friendship. Our back needs to have this allyship strong. We cannot

abandon this. I will be okay. This isn’t just us being here for friends Colt, this is us being here on behalf of our pack.” She stood and made her way to the bathroom to get ready for the ceremony.

I sat there on the edge of the bed in shock. After what she just went through all she can think

about is how we need to do right by the pack. I felt a smile beam on my face as I thought about how strong she is. She’s a true Luna.

I linked Levi, “Freya wants to stay through the wedding and then we can leave.” I could hear the

disappointment in his voice when he responded, “Sounds good Alpha.”

A call came through to the room and I picked it up quickly.

“Colt, is she okay?” It was Damon, clearly, he’s been informed of the events from the night.

“Yes.” I said, knowing that Freya was just on the other side of the door, I didn’t want to make it

known that everyone knew what she went through. I’m no expert on this type of situation but I

imagine it’s not something you want everyone to be aware of,

“I understand completely if you are leaving.” He said, I could hear the worry in his voice.

“Actually, she’s getting ready right now, so we’ll be down to meet you at the pack house for the

rehearsal thing right on time.” I responded quickly so he would hopefully pick up on the fact that I

do not want everyone to bombard her with their pity.

“I’m pleased to hear that, Colt. No one will say anything about it. We’ll see you soon, my friend.” He

ended the call.

I placed the phone down and stood to grab the other suit that he was making me wear today. This man knows full well how much I absolutely hate wearing clothes as it is, but having to dress like a city man is my least favorite of all.

After I was dressed, I started putting on my cufflinks, looking at myself in the mirror.

“My, my Mr. Bennett.” Freya started saying as she walked out of the bathroom. “You clean up mighty nice.” She laid down the thick southern accent to lighten the mood.

This woman is beyond the most amazing thing on this planet.

“I clean up nice? Have you seen you?” I said, walking over and wrapping her up in my arms. I softly allowed my lips to meet hers, waiting for her to press back into me and meet my kiss. I don’t want to move in any rate she’s not okay with, but I also know that she absolutely hates being treated like

she can’t handle something. I’ve learned it’s best to almost be too abrupt with her, so she can set

her limit with me as I’m crossing it.

She met my kiss and smiled into my lips.

You’d never know anything happened last night. She covered the wounds she had from her

vigorous scrubbing, and her personality was just as lovely as always.
