FREYA POV
“I think that might be necessary, unfortunately.” I told Rex. “I know that things are confusing when those upset times happen. I don’t know why, I don’t know how to help with it, but I do know that it’s not going to get any better if we don’t try to help. In fact, I think it might get worse if we don’t.”
He sat there for a moment and thought about it, “I guess you’re right. I just don’t want to hurt anyone.” He said.
“Of course you don’t Rex. We know this, we really do. We just want to help you and all of the other guys going through similar things you are, so that no one gets hurt and maybe we can help you guys get to a point like my brother. When he got here, I couldn’t even have a conversation with him. Now that he’s been working with someone to get through it, I just got to have a real conversation with him for the first time since he got here months ago.” I told him. I figured opening up to him might help him understand why we want to do this.
He smiled at me, “Okay Luna. I’ll give it a try.” He told me.
We talked a little longer and then we went our separate ways. I walked back over toward the healing hut and found myself surrounded by a group of wall warriors I had spoken with earlier in
the day.
“Luna, we just watched how you handled that situation.” He paused and looked at the were all around me, “I think we want to help you.”

I quickly hugged them all. That was eight more, and they’re all men. They wanted to help after they watched me with Rex. It made me happy to see that all it took was just seeing firsthand how these
people are suffering.
I basically ran back to the pack house to find Colt and tell him about it, I was so excited.
The next day we gathered up with the now sixteen volunteers to discuss some things about getting them ready to be a part of the team we’re in the process of designing to help those who are suffering from the experiences they lived through with the vamps.
It went well, everyone was able to provide their input and voice concerns. Obviously, the primary concern was for the safety of the eight women who’ve volunteered. We decided that wherever it is that they will be speaking with someone, there will be a warrior nearby to assist if needed. We’ve also decided that we will be working with a specific group of guards so that they’re able to calm down a situation without causing harm to either the women or the patient.
We put together a sign-up sheet in the healing hut with Sasha so that those that need his help can

request it themselves, or Sasha can put them on the list if they come in needing the help.
So far, everyone has been very positive about this.

In the meantime, we are deciding that we need to have a better set up for fighting with everyone. No one has the same fighting style. This could be helpful, but it could also be incredibly harmful.
Colt is working with Levi and Ash to get a few people together from each pack so we can compare
fighting styles.
“If we’re going to be one pack, we need to fight like one pack.” Colt said.
“I agree, but how are we going to convince everyone to change their style to match the style of Big Sky?” I asked him.
“I never said it would be to match the style of Big Sky. Actually, I was hoping to take the best parts of the fighting styles from each pack and maybe work together to create new fighting styles to work the best against the vamps. We’ve all fought against them at this point, some have fought more than others. Some of us might be able to figure out what fighting styles are outdated with who it is we will be fighting, and some of us might be able to come up with all new things we can do that might help us beat them.” He responded.
I hadn’t thought about any of that at all. This is why he’s Alpha.
“Are you worried about pushback from the other packs with you being Alpha?” Levi asked him.
“Honestly, I’m hoping to just include Harland and Damon in the decision making with a lot of this. Maybe even include Keegan. I’m not sure how ready he is to be in the Alpha position, but I know that every pack has loyal members.” He answered.
I thought about this for a moment, “Why are you wanting to include them as the Alphas?”
I wasn’t asking this in a combative way, I was more asking this in a questioning way. “Wouldn’t that just make it so that you have a better chance of butting heads with the other Alphas?” I asked.
Colt shook his head, “I don’t think so. I’ve worked with Damon many times in battle situations. I have not worked with Harland or Keegan in battle before, but I also know that Harland is very open to all of this. I’ve talked to him about it all already.”
“What about Keegan?” Levi asked, “Do you think he will have a hard time with this at all?”
Colt answered, “Honestly, I have no idea. I don’t really know where he is mentally with the idea of being an Alpha. I know that he’s aware he will be expected to be one at some point but given that he’s kind of freshly mentally stable right now I’m not sure if he’s quite ready for that point to be right now. Harland isn’t sure about that either. I just figured that we could bring him in on it all and see how he does. If he’s ready, then he’s ready and we’ll work with it. If he’s not, then he’s not and

we’ll have to figure out what to do about that.”
I nodded, “I’m sure that if he’s ready he will be very open to this. Next thing we need to do is just bring the warriors of all three packs together to get an idea of what everyone’s fighting styles look like to start this.”
