FREYA POV

When I woke my body was sore, but I felt amazing. felt energized and happy. I slept like a rock! Which is great because I haven’t slept well since I got here. I woke before Colt so I snuck out of bed, grabbed my clothes for the day and showered

I wanted to go get Jessi and spend some time with her, it’s only been a few days but I missed her. Now that she’s here I don’t feel that ping in my chest to go home. I hope now that she’s mated to Levi she’ll stick around here.

When I was dressed I went to sneak out of the bathroom hoping to not wake Colt but he was in his closet.

“Oh, hi.” I suddenly felt nervous. Maybe it was because of last night, which was amazing by the way. I wonder if that crazy surge of power I felt when he marked me is why I’m feeling so amazing today.

“Good morning beautiful.” he chuckled. “I’m surprised you were up before me.” he looked at me and saw I was dressed.

“Leaving?” he asked.

“I’m just excited Jessi is here, I wanted to grab her and, well I don’t know, explore I guess.” I haven’t done much of anything since I got here, but today I was thinking if we’re both going to be here with our mates we should probably get to know some people and what our pack is like.

“Levi mind linked me this morning, waking me up. Sounds like you and Jessi think alike.” he laughed. “He asked if I’d take the day with you all and ‘explore’.” he air quoted that last word.

I giggled, “Yeah we’ve always been like that I guess

He held a pair of jeans up, “Let me shower and we’ll go down to breakfast together. I’ll be quick.” and he walked to the bathroom leaving the door open.

I guess they mind link a lot here, that makes sense they don’t have phones. Our pack just picks up the phone and calls or texts whoever we need.

I mind linked Jessi, just to get a feel for it. It’s not something I’ve really done more than maybe once since I got my wolf.

“Hey Jess, we’re heading down in a few just getting ready.”

“Goddess Freya you scared me! Who mind links anymore?”

“Our mates, and I guess us now that we don’t have a phone.”

“I hadn’t thought of that yet. This feels weird. Gotta get used to it.”

“See you soon.”

Yeah she’s right, that does feel weird. We’ll get used to it eventually. I took the little bit it took Colt to get ready to brighten my appearance. I have beautiful silver crescent moon earrings that go perfect with the necklace Colt gave me.

I put on some lip gloss and a very minimal amount of mascara. Even though I have red hair my eye lashes are very thick and black so even without mascara they look like I’m wearing it. A light later if it just makes them a little darker to contrast my bright emerald looking eyes.

I put a silver chain on my wrist that’s thin just so I could match a little and look nice to meet the pack members. I’m going to be seeing them more so I want to make a decent first impression.

I’m wearing a white crop top with small frills at the top and a dark brown skirt that goes to my toes, it has a slit on the side that shows off my leg when I walk.

Most of the clothing I have looks pretty identical. My mother didn’t order me any pants, so I might have to figure out how to rectify that. I prefer pants over skirts but I do feel very pretty in them.

Colt was ready so we headed down to breakfast. I guess every morning they serve breakfast in the pack house with plenty of food so everyone can come get some.

They’re a very simple people, which makes me happy. Sausage, eggs, bread, and fruit all laid out. I could live off this breakfast my whole life.

“Freya!!” I could hear Jessi calling us to come sit with them. “This food is amazing. It’s better than anything we buy at the store.” she said as he nibbled some of the sausage.

“It’s all grown or hunted by the pack members. What we eat from the store isn’t fresh like this.” I said, feeling pride that I’m going to be part of a pack that puts so much work and effort into their whole lives.

It feels different than even how I felt yesterday morning eating breakfast. I guess the idea of the new pack is beginning to sit with me better than it was.

I could feel Colt looking at me so I turned my head toward him. His grin made me wonder what he was thinking, I could feel that he was happy. That’s a new thing too, I always wondered how it would be feeling someone else’s emotions.

Jessi brought me out of my thoughts, “So, since Freya and I will be spending our lives here now, I was thinking we’d get to know this place.” sometimes it’s creepy how alike we think.

“Since Freya will be Luna here in about a month, after we marry, I was thinking the same thing.” Colt added.

Oh damn, Luna. It’s been brought up a couple of times but I didn’t take that seriously. I’m mated to an alpha, so I will be Luna of this pack. Suddenly I was wishing I wore a better outfit.

I can’t just make a decent impression on these people It needs to be perfect. Colt placed his hand on my thigh, it calmed my nerves. I wonder if he could feel how freaked out I was.

“So, what should we do first?” I asked, trying to hide the fact that I was freaking out a little.

“Oh don’t worry Luna, Colt and I have this all under control.” Levi said with a smile.

“Oh gosh Levi, we’re going to be hanging out a lot. Call me Freya.” I giggled, mostly just because I really didn’t want to be called Luna.
