The Big Sky Alpha novel Chapter 50

FREYA POV

Colt looks amazing tonight. he’s not only in a shirt but shoes too! Plus, he’s in a full tux and honestly I’m impressed they make them that large, especially in the arms. He doesn’t even look like he’s about to rip out of it.

His hair is slicked back and he shaved, I’m still amazed with him being all cleaned up and incredibly sexy. Then on top of that he put this beautiful wedding together about 80% by himself!

The music was uplifting and beautiful. The song that they played for our first dance wasn’t in English so I didn’t understand it. Colt held me close and sang every word of it in English to me so beautifully. I had no idea he could sing so well.

The song was about two opposites attracting and falling deeply in love and being so happy. It really was beautiful. It’s getting close to dark and there are beautiful crystal lanterns all over. A dance floor has been made in the dirt.

After our first dance we sat down to eat. Colt and I both chose the elk steak with some potatoes and fresh veggies. They don’t keep champagne on hand here but on special occasions they’ll send a group to the town closest that has alcohol. That’s not the actual closest town by the way, that town is about 100 miles out!

Everyone was dancing and having fun. We decided to do the cake. Of course we shoved it on each other’s faces! The cake was delicious!

After a few more dances we decided to head back to our room and go for a run. Our wolves haven’t gotten to run together in a while. Even though tomorrow, as part of the ceremony, they’ll be running together anyways we still figured our wedding night was a good reason to let them run wild.

When the haze hit for them they enthralled themselves in love and lust. They are truly beautiful together. When they were done Colt and I headed to our room to have our own fun.

I sat down on the bed already naked. Colt walked over to me, also already naked. I took him in my mouth, fully saving the taste of my husband. His groans made me really excited. He stopped me then pushed me to lay down saying it was his turn. We made love most of the night and only stopped because he said I’ll need rest for tomorrow. The ceremony begins early with a surprise he’s been planning for me and that will take a large chunk of the day.

As I slept I dreamt that I mastered my communication ability. I dreamt the goddess had a message for me about my future.

When I woke I felt really sick. I rushed to the bathroom and threw up. It was still dark out, I convinced myself it’s just nerves since I’m officially becoming Luna today and curled back up next to Colt in bed.

“You okay?” he whispered, not opening his eyes.

“Yeah, just nervous about today.” I whispered back.

He clung to me while we went back to sleep.

With the morning came another wave of nausea. I must be more nervous than I thought. I took a nice long shower and calmed myself down. I was feeling better in no time. I’m still taking the medication they gave me, maybe that mixed with my nerves is getting to me.

We’re just going to get through today and go ahead and visit the healer tomorrow.

While I was looking through my closet I realized I have no idea what Colt and I are doing today before the ceremony. I should figure out what I need to wear. I poked my head into the bathroom since Colt was showering now to ask.

“So, since you’re being lame and not telling me what we’re doing today I’m not really sure what I should wear.” I said giggling. “Should it be easy access?” I gave my best flirty voice.

“You could wear what you’re wearing right now, that works best for me.” he chuckled a little bit.

I looked down and scoffed, “Colt I’m not wearing anything yet!”

“Exactly.” he said poking his head out and winking.

He went back to showering and replied, “All seriousness though just wear whatever you want. There’s no dress code for what we’re doing.”

I left the bathroom deciding I’m going to wear a pair of my new pants with a tank top. Colt wore his usual jeans with no shirt or shoes. It’s weird, but I prefer him just like this. He cleans up nice but this is my Colt, my husband.

We walked down to the waterfalls, I love this place it’s so beautiful and peaceful. He brought a bag with him and led me to a chair with a covered table next to it and another chair.

“Today, you’re becoming the Luna of Big Sky.” Colt began what I’m assuming is a rehearsed description of what we’re doing out here. “Our pack runs on many proud traditions that we uphold, one of which is what we will be doing today.” he pulled the cover off the table and revealed… something?

“What is this?” I was legitimately confused by what I was seeing.

“I am going to give you the two tattoos that everyone in our pack has.” he said smiling.

“You’re what?” I asked, that’s a lot. I don’t have any tattoos, I’ve heard they’re painful. Frankly, that’s with the tattoo guns in the city I have no idea what the hell this is.

“Relax beautiful. They’re not extravagant.” he pointed at one on his chest of a mountain and a moon above it. “This is number one…” Then he pointed to one on his bicep that was a tribal looking band around his muscles, “this is number two. They don’t need to be in the same place, but you do need them.”

I could feel my stomach tightening and my breathing increasing. I hate needles. I think looking at the tools he has laid out is what is frightening me most.

“I don’t have any tattoos Colt. I can’t do this.” I said with the panic clear in my voice.

He placed his hand on my cheek, “Sweetie you’re an alpha descendent. You are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for.” he grabbed my hand and led me to sit down.

He started picking up everything and showing it to me. He described what all of it does, and even showed me what he’s going to be doing, giving himself a little tattooed ring right next to his wedding ring.

He made it look so easy and so natural. “So, where do they go?” I asked, feeling more calm about the situation.

“Wherever you want.” he replied. “I chose my chest for my Big Sky because I was sixteen and I thought it would look cool and I quite literally try my hardest to wear a shirt as little as possible.” he chuckled. “Then I thought my muscles would make the tribe art look badass.” he laughed again. “Like I said, sixteen.” he shrugged.

“You talk about it like it’s not a big deal. These are my first tattoos though, what if I regret getting them wherever I have you place them?” I asked, nerves flaring up again.

“Freya, I think you’ve helped me understand why the women in our pack wait until they’re mated or eighteen to get these. You think about things like this when we really don’t.” he smiled.

“Tattoos are forever, and that’s a reason some people fear them but that’s the reason our pack does this. It symbolizes our love for our home, for our pack, for our way of life.” he described it so beautifully.

After a moment I said, “okay I know where I want them.”
