FREYA POV
Something doesn’t feel right. It’s been a couple weeks since that lunatic chief drugged me with bane. I should be feeling better by now. I mean, Stella is back, shifting is difficult though. I still can’t do any of my abilities. The healers have confirmed both hearts are still good and strong for the babies but I will feel so very weak.
Colt has not allowed me to go anywhere without protection. I’ve had 2 warriors assigned to me every time he leaves my side. He tried to have them even come into the room to guard me when I’m coming in to change and use the bathroom. I had to agree to just keep the door cracked open a little so they could hear if they were needed.
The 2 change periodically. I’ve had Ash, Josh, Kyle, and Brett so far. I feel bad for them, following big pregnant me around can’t be a thrilling job. Colt was so upset about the tribe getting in here and through his barriers that has been working on trying to find ways to increase security.
It’s been hard on him to the point I’m not even entirely sure he’s slept since we got back. With me not feeling better yet I feel like that’s adding to it and I hate it. I wish I could feel better.
Jessi has been working with me on making sure I do all the things the healer recommended, which has been nice because we’ve finally gotten to just be together and hang out like we used to.
It’s funny, I thought living here would bring less chaos without the technology, especially since my best friend is here with me. It’s been quite the opposite to the point we’ve barely hung out since the games ended.
I’ve still had an insane sex drive though. Colt has been worried having all this sex while I’m weak like this but I’ve told him that it actually helps me. The healer said that the mate bond has healing powers of its own and when we allow our bond to bring us together it does heal.
He doesn’t believe it, so he’s been trying to be as quick and gentle as he can. He can’t really do either, which makes me happy.
According to the healer we’re on watch for possible delivery so I’ve pretty much been ordered to stay resting and taking it easy. The biggest concern is if I’ll have the strength to birth two.
On the bright side, Jessi and Levi have been helping me and Colt get ready for little Hunter and Kira. They’re excited, we’ve chosen them to be their godparents.
I knew godparents were a thing but until recently I wasn’t sure what it meant. They’ve taken the roles very seriously. Jessi has been by my side most days, Levi has been helping me with things while Colt is busy and he’s been trying to do extra work for Colt so he can be with me more.
Levi is back to his normal self now. I guess Jessi really didn’t question him going off to help get me back, but she’s told him that she’s not up for him leaving again. I know she knows it’s inevitable, but it makes her feel better to just say it.
They’re getting married next week. It’s not customary in this pack to do the whole bachelor or bachelorette party thing. So, it’s been nice and easy getting it set up for them. We’ve successfully been able to get everyone to bring everything here to get chosen. Her dress is stunning, just as she is. It’s a white long sleeve dress, the sleeves are lace and see through as well as the back. It wraps around all the way up to her neck, it’s long and flows down to her feet but isn’t puffy. It’s actually rather figure complimenting for her, which isn’t hard to do. There’s a large slit right in the front so when she walks it opens up to show the lower legs.
Considering the crazy party girl I grew up with, this was a very conservative outfit for her, but I’ve noticed her wardrobe getting less revealing since she found Levi. Granted, she’s so very classy looking but she’s not showing her cleavage and legs as much. It’s a really good look for her, especially since she glows with happiness.
Her parents are coming in the night before the wedding. She’s been so worried about me that she’s asked me a few times if I’m sure I don’t want her to postpone the wedding.
“You will not wait for your special day just because of me!” I tell her.
She still asks though. I can tell she’s thinking about it today. While I’ve been sitting here drinking this disgusting smoothie the healer says I need to drink Jessi has been sitting here just watching me with concern shining bright like a diamond in her face.
“You feeling okay Freya?” She finally asked.
“Well I’m surely not digging this drink.” I said as I gagged back another gulp of it. I don’t know what the f**k is in here, but it tastes like it belongs in the trash.
She lightly giggled, clearly not finding it funny. “I mean, are you sure I shouldn’t push this off another few weeks or so?” There it is.
“I knew you were going to ask that.” I said rolling my eyes and smiling at her.
“I just don’t want you suffering through it ya know!” She said with a little shoulder shrug while she brought her cup of tea up to sip on it.
I watched her for a second then asked, “Are you asking because you’re worried about me or because you’re getting too nervous?”
Her eyes got big while she swallowed. “You of course.” She coughed a little since she swallowed a little faster than I think she meant to. Clearly she couldn’t answer me fast enough.
I just gave her a look. “Mmhmm.”
“Okay okay I might be a little bit more nervous than I expected I’d be.” She said staring into her cup of tea as the light steam rose.
I smiled, “Are you happy Jess?” I asked her.
“Of course I am. He’s great, I love him.” She said, a frown on her face.
“Then what’s the problem?” I asked sitting up so I could show her I’m very interested in whatever is causing her struggle.
“I haven’t told anyone. Not even Levi, and I’m scared he’s going to be upset because we aren’t married.” One of her hands dropped to her belly. “He’s expressed that he wanted to wait a bit before starting a family, he just wants it to be us for a bit you know?”
I set my nasty a*s smoothie down. “Holy s**t Jessi! You’re pregnant!” I said a little louder than I meant to.
