Chapter 162
“What? Her face can’t be fixed?”
Mrs. Lopez’s eyes looked like they were about to pop out of her head. She stared at the doctor, completely unable to process what he was saying.
The doctor’s face was filled with regret. “Yes. She had a severe post–operative rejection. The transplanted skin became necrotic, and all we could do was debride the area.”
“Her face was already severely damaged to begin with, far beyond the body’s natural ability to heal. Now that the skin graft has failed, she’ll be left with scars that are even worse than before.”
“The scarring might be improved with future procedures, but it’s clear that
skin grafts alone won’t be enough to make the marks on her face disappear completely.”
“Luckily, it’s just that one small area. With some makeup, it won’t be too noticeable. At least it won’t affect her daily life.”
Mrs. Lopez completely fell apart at his words.
“What do you mean, ‘it won’t affect her daily life‘? Her face is ruined! How could
that not affect her?”
“Aren’t you doctors supposed to be compassionate? How can you say something
so cruel!”
“My daughter is so young! She hasn’t even gotten married or had kids yet. Now she’s disfigured like this. Who’s going to want her now?!”
“I don’t care! I entrusted my daughter to you, so you have to fix her! If you don’t, I
swear I won’t let you get away with this!”
Mrs. Lopez grabbed the doctor’s coat and refused to let go.

Chapter 162
The nurses rushed forward to try and calm her down, but she shoved them away, one by one.
The scene made everyone else extremely uncomfortable.
“Ma’am, please calm down. The initial surgery we performed on the patient was very successful, but no one can predict post–op complications. Graft rejection isn’t a rare event. It can be minor or major, and we took immediate action to remedy it. You can’t just pin all the blame on us, can you?”
That statement was the spark that lit the dynamite inside Mrs. Lopez.
“What’s that supposed to mean? Are you saying it’s our fault that you incompetent fools ruined my daughter’s face?”
“What kind of hospital is this? I brought you a perfectly healthy daughter, and now that she’s disfigured, I don’t have the right to demand an explanation?”
The doctor and nurses looked utterly exasperated.
“Ma’am…”
They tried to get her to calm down, but after being hit with one blow after another, Mrs. Lopez was on the verge of exploding and couldn’t hear a word anyone was
saying.
“Call the police! I’m calling the police! You’re a bunch of quacks who have no business working in a hospital! You ruined my daughter, and I will never let you get
away with it, never!”
At first, it was just Mrs. Lopez, so it would have been easy for the hospital staff to
restrain her.
But hospital policy dictated that they had to be extremely careful when dealing with disturbances from patients‘ families to avoid escalating the situation.
That was why medical staff were so often the ones who ended up getting hurt in these kinds of confrontations.

Chapter 162
One side was hysterical, while the other could only defend themselves, terrified of causing a bloody incident. In that dynamic, the medical staff was naturally at a
disadvantage.
A number of people heard the commotion and came over to help, but Mrs. Lopez was like a rabid dog, snapping at anyone who came near. Her meticulously styled hair was now a tangled mess, like straw piled on the back of her head.
Seeing that so many doctors and nurses couldn’t stop her, the others certainly didn’t dare to step in.
In the end, Mrs. Lopez actually managed to injure several people.
The hospital had no choice but to call the police.
It wasn’t until she saw the officers arrive that Mrs. Lopez finally realized how
serious things had gotten.
“No, you can’t take me!”
“My daughter is still in the hospital! Those poor excuses for doctors disfigured that poor girl! You have to make them pay!”
After getting a clear picture of the situation, the police first restrained Mrs. Lopez.
She struggled and screamed hysterically.
The other people watching just shook their heads.
“I remember her. She’s from the inpatient wing, right? She’s the stepmom of that poor woman who was forced by her own father to have surgery for her stepsister while she was pregnant.”
“Holy shit, that’s her? How does she still have the nerve to cause a scene? This is probably just karma for what she and her daughter did.”
“Totally karma! I heard the stepsister’s face is ruined. She deserves it!”

Hearing these whispers, Mrs. Lopez’s face turned ashen.
“Shut up! My daughter is not disfigured! These quacks just don’t know how to treat her!”
“I want a transfer! I’m transferring my daughter to another hospital!”
The hospital staff couldn’t wait to get rid of this menace.
A patient like this was nothing but a ticking time bomb.
But since Mrs. Lopez was involved in a hospital disturbance, she now had to go with the police to assist with the investigation.
Throughout the entire ordeal, not a single person spared a glance for Lydia, who had just been wheeled out of the operating room.
In the end, a nurse saw her lying forgotten in a corner, still on her gurney, and took her back to her room.
After everything that had happened, Lydia realized she was completely alone, and she was overcome with panic and fear.
She also desperately wanted someone to get her mom out of trouble, so she called Mars.
At first, the calls went unanswered.
Then, finally, someone picked up, but all she could hear were suggestive sounds coming from the other end.
Lydia knew that sound all too well.
Her eyes burned with rage as she screamed into the phone, “Mars, what the hell
are you doing?! I’m in this mess because of you, and you’re betraying me?! Whose bed are you in, you bastard? How could you do this to me?!”
Mars was in Hannah’s hospital room.

Chapter 162
Because Lydia’s situation was so serious, Mars hadn’t had time to check on
Hannah.
