“Don’t worry about it. I actually needed to talk to your sister–in–law about something anyway.”

Nina took a quick shower, changed, and was heading out when she accidentally bumped into a woman. She stopped immediately and apologized, “I’m so sorry, I

was in a hurry and wasn’t looking.”

She expected a simple “no problem” in return, but instead, a sharp pain shot through her scalp. Looking up, she saw the woman had grabbed a fistful of her

hair.

“Is a ‘sorry‘ supposed to fix everything? You little bitch, watch where you’re going!”

Nina felt like her scalp was about to be ripped off. She cried out in pain and grabbed the woman’s arm. “Let go of me!”

Nina had never been treated like this.

It was true she was at fault for bumping into her, and she had apologized. The woman was free to not accept it, or even demand compensation.

But that didn’t give her the right to just attack her!

“Ooh, you’ve got some nerve. I’m standing right here, a whole person, and you run right into me, and now you think you’re in the right? I can’t stand little bitches like you who think they can walk all over everyone just because they’re pretty!”

With that, she raised her hand high, ready to slap Nina across the face.

Nina’s eyes went wide. “You dare!”

No one had ever slapped her in her entire life. If this woman actually did it, Nina was ready to lunge at her and fight back with everything she had.

“Why wouldn’t I dare?” the woman sneered, her hand swinging down.

Nina jerked her head to the side. The slap missed her face but landed hard on her

shoulder.

A jolt of pain shot through her, and tears immediately welled up in Nina’s eyes.

Nina’s eyes turned red with frustration and hurt.

Seeing Nina like this only made the woman angrier.

“What’s this? There are no men around to watch your little show. Who are you trying to fool with that innocent victim act? You really think the whole world revolves around you, don’t you?”

Nina understood immediately.

This woman had clearly been hurt by some other girl and now hated all young, pretty women on sight.

Nina wasn’t one to just sit there and take it. This woman was completely unreasonable, and arguing with her was pointless.

“Or I’m calling the cops.”

“You’d dare call the cops?”

“This is an exclusive tennis club, not a place for just anyone. Have you taken so many shortcuts you’ve forgotten your place, little girl?”

“You think you can sleep your way to the top and then call the police? Aren’t you afraid of embarrassing yourself?”

Nina felt like she’d stepped in something awful.

Arguing with someone like this was a complete waste of breath.

While trying to stall the woman, Nina scanned the area, relieved to see someone

had already gone to get security.

“What do I want? I know exactly how to deal with women like you. You bumped into me, and your apology was worthless. So, here’s what you’re going to do. You’re going to take off your clothes, go outside, and kneel while you apologize to me until I’m satisfied.”

Nina’s eyes widened. She stared at the woman as if she were a complete lunatic.

“Not happening.”

Nina wrenched her arm free from the woman’s grasp.

The woman, not expecting Nina’s strength, stumbled backward and slammed into the doorframe.

Nina stared the woman down and said, slowly and clearly, “It was my fault for bumping into you. I’ve already apologized. If you’re claiming I injured you and you want compensation, fine. We can call the police right now and let them handle it. You can even go get a medical assessment.”

“I won’t run from my responsibility.”

“But I will be pressing charges for you assaulting me.”

The woman was stunned that such a young girl could be so defiant. Just as she was about to retort, she saw Leo Rhodes’s tall figure approaching.

“What’s going on, Nina?”

Leo had been waiting outside for a while. When Nina didn’t come out, he asked

around and heard there was trouble, so he hurried over.

The woman saw how tall and strong Leo was and probably figured she couldn’t take

on both of them. She shot Nina a final threat-“You just wait“-and ran off.

Nina rolled her eyes at the woman’s retreating back.

“It’s nothing, just a little trouble.”

Nina picked up her bag, and she and Leo left the tennis club.

Leo’s expression soured when he heard what had happened.

“I can’t believe someone like that would be here.”

“Is your shoulder okay?”

Nina rubbed it, realizing it was definitely sore. She couldn’t help but complain, “My luck is terrible. I just glanced at my phone for a second and ran into that nutcase. She even tried to slap me!”

Leo’s face darkened. “I’m going to ask the club for the security footage. We need to have that evidence saved.”

That reminded Nina. “Oh, right! Who knows what kind of trouble she might try to stir up later.”

Leo said, “Leave it to me.”

Nina gave him a bright smile. “I really owe you one today. That woman would’ve never backed off so easily otherwise.”

Leo just smiled. “It was the least I could do.”

But Nina read something else in his tone. “Leo… are you being so nice to me because of my sister–in–law? You really admire her, don’t you?”
