A sudden chill swept over Leeanne from behind, warning her of danger.

Fortunately, Leeanne had stayed on high alert the entire time. She already had her soft whip in hand. The moment she sensed something was off, she twisted her body and snapped the soft whip behind her.
With a sharp crack, her whip struck nothing but air.
Leeanne retreated over a dozen steps before she finally got a clear look at the beast in front of her.
It was a massive black wolf, standing nearly as tall as a grown person.
The black wolf’s eyes burned with ferocity, its sharp fangs gleaming as it let out a savage roar and lunged at her once more.
Leeanne’s heart raced with fear. The black wolf was insanely fast. If it weren’t for all the stats she’d gained lately, she’d be dead meat by now.
She backed up a few steps, swinging her soft whip as she fought the black wolf, and shouted, “Little Blue.”
She had to call Little Blue for backup.
The wolf was too fast. She didn’t have the time or the space to use her bow and arrow.
Little Blue was fast this time, swooping down from the sky and yelling, “I’m here. Let me take down this black beast!”
Leeanne hurriedly called out, “Little Blue, be careful. Just run it around.”
She always wished Little Blue would actually think for once, instead of just barreling in headfirst.
With its flying skills, there was no need to go toe–to–toe. It could just distract the black wolf and throw it off.
But Little Blue had other ideas. It dove right in, flailing with its claws and snapping with its beak, going full–on melee with the black wolf. In no time, the wolf was left with several bloody gashes.
The black wolf was absolutely pissed.
It let out a furious roar and yanked out one of Little Blue’s feathers.
Little Blue lost it. “You damn mutt, you wanna die that bad? Watch me wreck you.”
Leeanne yelled, “Little Blue, pull back!”
Taking advantage of the chaos as Little Blue tangled with the black wolf, Leeanne quickly backed up about ten yards. She finally whipped out her bow, fired three arrows in a row, and shouted at Little Blue, ‘Quick, move! Get out of there!”
The black wolf was vicious and lightning–fast.
She and Little Blue could probably win, but it’d cost them. She might get hurt, and Little Blue could end up even baller
Little Blue was already missing enough feathers. It couldn’t afford to lose any more.
If Little Blue got any balder, she worned and catch a cold. Or worse, she might be tempted to roast it for dinner
Little Blue, reckless and fearless, kept charging in, swearing nonstop. Tm gonna kill you, you stupid murd

Leeanne yelled, “Little Blue, fall back! If you don’t listen, no cherries for you.”
That did the trick. Still cursing, Little Blue shot up into the sky.
Leeanne let loose three arrows in a row at the black wolf, keeping it at bay.
She hurried off with Little Blue in tow, but the black wolf was hot on their heels, refusing to give up the chase.
Leeanne glanced toward the Golden–Blossom Alfalfa and caught sight of the old goat creeping closer, already nearly at its side.
“Damn, that sly old bastard!‘ Leeanne thought, rage bubbling up inside her.
Leeanne was furious.
Sure, the old goat had helped out by finding the Golden Core Nectar to wake up Snowy, but it had also taken advantage of Leeanne to score some perks for itself.
For example, Golden–Blossom Alfalfa.
Now, while Leeanne was tangled up with the black wolf, the old goat was sneaking in to snatch the reward for itself.
Leeanne was furious.
From the very beginning, the old goat had always kept its distance from Golden–Blossom Alfalfa. It must’ve sensed there was danger around, so it stayed far away, ready to make a quick getaway if things went south.
That old goat is just too cunning!‘ Leeanne thought, her anger flaring.
No way was Leeanne going to let it have its way.
She called out, “Little Blue, lure it over to the old goat.”
Little Blue swooped down, swiped at the black wolf, then zipped off toward Golden–Blossom Alfalfa.
The black wolf, furious, whirled around and charged after it.
Right on cue, the old goat arrived at Golden–Blossom Alfalfa.
The black wolf, craving lamb over anything else, ditched Little Blue and lunged straight for the old goat. With a wild howl, it sank its teeth into the goat’s hind leg.
The old goat let out a shrill, desperate bleat, fought to break free, and scrambled away in terror.
Leeanne and Little Blue took the chance to slip away.
They ran for a while. When they saw that the black wolf wasn’t chasing anymore, they finally stopped.
Leeanne plopped down on a rock, catching her breath and thinking things over
With her and Little Blue’s fighting ability, taking down that black wolf would be a brutal slog. It’d drag on forever, and they’d likely end up injured.
But her goal was to save Snowy. She couldn’t afford to burn through her energy here.
Now that Snowy was awake, first things first. She needed to find where it was born and figure out how to help it.

With that in mind. Leeanne was about to bring out Snowy and get moving.
By chance, Leeanne glanced up and noticed a small tree not far away.

The tree was only about as tall as a person. Its leaves were all gone, with just seven or eight yellowish–brown round fruits clinging to the bare branches.
The fruits were about the size of longans, hanging alone and looking like they might fall off at any moment.
“What is that?‘ Leeanne wondered, finding herself moving closer to check it out.
[Wolf Fang Fruit: Deadly poison, Tier 2 toxic plant. If it touches a wound, you’ll bleed nonstop. Be super careful when picking it.]
A poisonous fruit?‘ Leeanne mused.
Suddenly, a new plan popped into her head.
With this, taking out the black wolf would be so much faster.
Once the black wolf was dead, they could grab the Golden Core Nectar. If Snowy drank it, it’d stay awake longer. Plus, she could collect the Golden–Blossom Alfalfa, plant it back home, and Snowy could have all the Golden Core Nectar it wanted.
If they acted quickly, it would only take about ten minutes more.
‘Should I try it?‘ Leeanne thought to herself.
Leeanne made up her mind in a flash.
‘Let’s do it!‘ she thought.
She started toward the Wolf Fang Fruit, but after just one step, she paused.
A level two poisonous fruit, huh? Bet some beast is guarding it, too, Leeanne thought.
Just as she was about to draw her bow, she suddenly heard the clatter of hooves behind her. The old goat came limping over.
Even though it was limping, it hadn’t slowed down much at all.
When it saw Leeanne, it was startled. In a panic, it scrambled to change direction, skirting around the Wolf Fang Fruit as it dashed past.
Suddenly, a black snake shot out and latched onto the old goat’s car.
The old goat let out a blood–curdling bleat, whipped its head to fling the snake off, then slammed its horns straight into the
snake.
The goat’s horns tore right through the snake’s body.
‘So that’s what’s guarding the Wolf Fang Fruit, a black snake, Leeanne thought, crossing her arms as she watched the goat and the snake battle it out.
After all those brushes with danger, the old goat got fired up, showing its wild side as it took on the black snake.
Although the old goat was old and lame, it was tough as nails, locked in a dead–even fight with the snake.

Leeanne beckoned Little Blue over, and the two stood there, watching the action unfold.
Little Blue jeered as it watched, “Hurry up, old geezer! Look at you, such a wimp!”
The old goat bleated pitifully, shooting Leeanne a look that practically begged for help. Leeanne just smirked and kept enjoying the spectacle.

Before long, the old goat was totally spent and dropped to the ground, while the black snake looked miserable, smeared with blood from all those headbutts.
Leeanne had to admit, she was impressed. She never expected the old goat to be so tough, managing to go toe–to–toe with a snake and come out even.
The black snake barely managed a weak twitch.
Leeanne flicked her soft whip. With one sharp crack, the snake was dead.
[You have slain a Tier 2 Black Snake. Reward: Snake Gallbladder xl, Snake Meat x5.]
‘Sweet, snagged the kill,‘ Leeanne thought, grinning.
Leeanne didn’t even spare a glance at the old goat lying on the ground. She walked straight over to the Wolf Fang Fruit and picked the tree clean of every last fruit.
Once she was back at the rock, Leeanne grabbed a Wolf Fang Fruit, squeezed out its toxic juice, and carefully coated her throwing knives and a few arrows with the deadly stuff.
Soon, she’d be putting these to good use against the black wolf.
Once she finished, Leeanne shot a look at the old goat sprawled off to the side, a battered, limping mess, looking like a pathetic heap after all those injuries.
‘Nice. It’s messed up pretty bad. No way it’ll be mooching off us this time, Leeanne thought.
Leeanne waved Little Blue over and headed straight for the Golden–Blossom Alfalfa, where the black wolf was waiting.
Time to take down that wolf, Leeanne thought, her heart pounding with excitement.
