Chapter 121
Leeanne and Little Blue quickly made their way back to where they were earlier.

The Golden–Blossom Alfalfa was still there, swaying gently in the breeze as a faint floral scent wafted through the air.
Leeanne snapped her soft whip, slicing it through the towering alfalfa nearby…
‘Awooo!” With a chilling howl, a massive black wolf lunged out from the brush.
Little Blue swooped down, cutting off its escape. Leeanne stepped back. She nocked an arrow and drew her bow. Three poisoned Arrows shot out with a sharp hiss.
With a swift flick of its tail, the black wolf knocked the Arrows aside as it dodged.
Only one Arrow grazed its side, making it feel a slight tingle. It should be a minor scratch.
The black wolf didn’t seem to care at all and kept charging forward.
Leeanne didn’t realize she’d actually landed a hit. Seeing how fast the black wolf was, she knew Arrows wouldn’t cut it, so she moved closer and cracked her soft whip at the beast.
The black wolf was pissed. That tingling, numb spot where it got scratched was driving it wild, and it barreled straight toward Leeanne, rage in its eyes.
Leeanne’s soft whip flicked and snapped, weaving a tight barrier in the air that held the black wolf back, for now.
But she knew she was no match for the black wolf’s endurance. She needed to finish this quickly.
Especially if she wanted the Wolf Fang Fruit to kick in.
Just then, Little Blue dove down and swiped at the black wolf with its razor–sharp claws.
A streak of blood appeared across the wolf’s back.
Leeanne gave a thumbs–up. ‘Damn, Little Blue, you’re still savage. If I weren’t worried you’d lick your claws, I’d totally coat them with Wolf Fang Fruit, she thought.
Awooo! The black wolf let out a furious howl and sprang up, biting down hard on Little Blue’s tail and ripping out two feathers.
“Ah!” Little Blue screeched, watching its feathers drift to the ground. It totally lost it. “You mangy black mutt. You filthy beast I swear, I’m gonna kill you!”
Little Blue, wild with rage, dove straight down again, reckless and ready for revenge.
Leeanne felt a headache coming on.
She thought, ‘Seriously, Little Blue, can’t you take it easy for once?
I’m the main fighter here. You’re supposed to mess with the enemy, not try to tank everything yourself. What’s with you always wanting to take the hits?
Little Blue was already diving in, so Leeanne was done waiting around. If she held back any longer, her bird would end up plucked bald.

She lashed out with her soft whip, then grabbed a fistful of throwing knives and hurled them at the wolf.
The distance was just right.

Leeanne’s throwing knives were strapped to her waist, a row of tiny blades that looked like a string of red chilies.
Handy as hell, she could grab one whenever she needed.
The throwing knives were awesome, quick, and sharp. But since she hadn’t practiced much, her throws were pretty hit–or-
miss.
Little Blue was going wild, attacking the black wolf like it had lost its mind, feathers scattering in every direction. Leeanne was on edge, watching in horror as her bird threw itself into the fray.
Leeanne kept her eyes peeled for the right opening.
Finally, when the black wolf’s tail paused and its movements slowed, Leeanne seized the moment and let her throwing knife fly, burying it deep in the wolf’s butt.
The black wolf let out a pained howl and gave a violent shudder.
Leeanne clearly saw blood gushing from its rear.
‘Yes!‘ Leeanne thought.
“Little Blue, time to bail!” Leeanne barked.
“No way! I haven’t killed it yet,” Little Blue shot back, refusing to leave.
“Hurry up!” Leeanne urged, her tone full of panic.
Now, all they had to do was wait for the black wolf to bleed out. Fighting it head–on would wear them out.
Besides, with so many feathers missing from its tail, Little Blue was struggling to fly straight.
Being reckless would only backfire.
Little Blue, still sulking, reluctantly retreated with Leeanne. The black wolf, furious and unwilling to let them go, chased after them for a while, but when it saw Leeanne getting farther and farther away, it finally gave up and turned back.
Leeanne noticed blood dripping all along the path the wolf had taken.
And it was obvious the wolf’s legs were getting wobbly.
When the black wolf started heading back, Leeanne told Little Blue to stay put, then chased after the beast and gave it another lash with her whip.
The black wolf, furious, kept charging back at her. They repeated this little dance a few times. Soon, the wolf was totally
spent.
All that running made it bleed more and more, draining its strength. Finally, Leeanne cracked her whip one final time, and the wolf went down hard, collapsing onto the ground.
Leeanne didn’t give the wolf a moment to recover She switched to her spear. With a swift, powerful throw, it struck right in the wolf’s throat.

Leeanne was wiped out. She took a breather, then summoned Snowy and led it over to the Golden–Blossom Alfalfa.
She fed it some Golden Core Nectar.
“How are you feeling now, Snowy?” Leeanne asked, her voice full of worry.
“I’m feeling much better, master. Thanks to the Golden Core Nectar, I’m good for another two hours now,” Snowy replied.
“That’s great!” Leeanne finally relaxed.
At least all that hard work wasn’t for nothing,’ she thought.
She pulled out her iron shovel and carefully dug up the entire Golden–Blossom Alfalfa plant, stashing it away in her backpack.
Just as she finished digging up the alfalfa and was about to stand, a flash of silver caught her eye.
‘Huh? What’s that?‘ she wondered.
Leeanne leaned in for a closer look and spotted a treasure chest shimmering in the water by the creek.
The chest was silver and delicate, much smaller than any common wooden box, barely the size of a jewelry case.
She gingerly fished the treasure chest out of the water, careful not to make a splash.
Well, look at that! The black wolf finally dropped something decent, a treasure chest. It’s even a silver one, Leeanne thought.
She’d never seen a silver treasure chest before.
No question. There’s gotta be some real treasure inside,‘ she thought.
[You found a silver treasure chest. Open it?]
“Yes!” Leeanne replied.
Silver treasure chest opened. With Lady Luck on your side today, you scored the Sheep Whisperer Bell.]
Leeanne thought, ‘Finally, Lady Luck is smiling at me again..
But what the heck is a Sheep Whisperer Bell?‘
Leeanne found a tiny bell in her backpack.
It was a silver collar, made from soft, woven threads, and could be adjusted to fit.
Three little bells dangled from the collar, each about the size of a peanut. It was so tiny that it could barely be noticed.
What’s the point of something this tiny? Leeanne thought, rolling her eyes.
[Sheep Whisperer Bell: Bestowed by the Divine Unicorn Sheep. Wear this bell, and you’ll be able to understand and talk to any sheep.)
No way! I can actually understand sheep now? Leeanne stared at the bell, stunned.

Lecanne was thrilled.
This is just what I needed. A tool to talk to sheep and couldn’t have come at a better time, she thought.
After all, this island was practically crawling with sheep.

She picked up the Sheep Whisperer Bell and thought for a moment. She adjusted the collar’s size and slipped it onto her
arm.
After taking a few steps, she heard a barely audible jingling right by her ear.
The sound was so light. If she weren’t listening really carefully, she’d never notice it at all.
With the Sheep Whisperer Bell strapped to her arm, Lecanne was eager to test it out and see if she could really talk to a sheep.
Leeanne turned to Little Blue and said. “Go and take a look around to see if there are any sheep nearby.”
Little Blue flew off.
Leeanne scooped up her throwing daggers and arrows from the ground, then called out Snowy, hugging it close. “Alright, Snowy, which way are we headed?” she asked.
Snowy nodded its nose toward the far side of the creek.
Leeanne looked down at the creek. It was pretty shallow, so crossing on foot shouldn’t be a problem.
She waded through the creek, stepping carefully as she crossed to the other side.
The deepest spot in the water barely came up to her knees.
Once Leeanne climbed onto the bank, she noticed her clothes and shoes were bone dry.
‘Damn. Invincible Suit is seriously insane, Leeanne thought, totally impressed. She’d been running all over, wading through streams, battling wolves, and crashing through alfalfa thickets, but not a single leaf, blade of grass, or speck of mud stuck to her.
Her clothes were still pristine, like she’d just put them on.
Following the direction Snowy pointed out, Leeanne took a few steps and caught sight of a sheep just ahead.
It was an old goat, looking totally beat up and covered in wounds.
It was the very same one they’d seen before.
The old goat was sprawled on the ground, giving Leeanne a sad, pitiful look.
Leeanne let out a cold snort and strode right past it.
The old goat bleated a few times. To Leeanne’s surprise, she could actually understand it. “Oh, beautiful fairy, lovely adventurer, savior of the Divine Unicorn Sheep. My rescuer, could you heal me?”
