Chapter 123
Weird?‘ thought Leeanne.
Leeanne stopped in her tracks.
It was a white lamb with black rings around its eyes, like a panda. It made it look kind of silly.
It was quickly surrounded by the other lambs.
“How many times have we told you? You’re just a scaredy–cat.”
“Yeah, we’re all going over there to play anyway. You can stay here by yourself.”
“That’s right. The ruins are the perfect place to play hide–and–seek.”

“We’ve come up with so many games, but you don’t know how to play any of them. You’re such a wimp. We’re not playing with you.”
The panda–eyed lamb panicked and frantically protested, “Don’t go. It’s dangerous!”
But the other lambs just ignored it and dashed off gleefully, heading straight for the ruins.
Only the panda–eyed lamb was left behind, frozen in place, torn and unsure what to do.
Once the other lambs had left, Leeanne, holding Snowy in her arms, walked over and asked, “Snowy, what’s so weird about the ruins? If you tell me, I’ll give you something tasty.”
She pulled out a strawberry.
The panda–eyed lamb had been staring after its friends, but when it turned and saw Leeanne, its ears trembled in panic. “W… What kind of sheep are you? Why don’t you have horns? Wait, you’re not a sheep at all! Mom, I want my mom.”
It spun around and bolted, running surprisingly fast.
Thanks to her Agility, Leeanne quickly blocked its path. “Don’t be scared. Here, have a strawberry.”
Her strawberries had tempted all sorts of little animals, Snowy, the panda–eyed lamb, and even Little Blue had fallen for
them.

She figured dealing with a common lamb would be a breeze, but the panda–eyed lamb was so flustered that it nearly jumped out of its skin. After a while, seeing Leeanne meant no harm, it whimpered nervously, “L… I don’t want strawberries.
Leeanne was speechless.
The old goat walked over, shaking his long white beard with a proud grin “Strawberries can tempt creatures with higher intelligence, but for the common creatures, they still prefer their usual favorites For instance, thus little guy likes carrots
best.
The panda–eyed lamb’s eyes sparkled “Yeah, I like carrots better.”
Leeanne sighed. Where was she supposed to find a carrot, anyway?
So she gently coaxed the panda–eyed lamb, “Tell me what’s strange about the ruins, and I’ll get you a carrot
The old goat snickered, “Well, isn’t that kind of cheating?”

Leeanne gave him a sharp glare.
The panda–eyed lamb had stopped trembling and insisted, “I want a carrot.”

The old goat quickly turned to Leeanne. “I know where to find carrots. I’ll take you there, but you gotta patch me up first.”
Leeanne shot him a cold look. “So, where?”
The old goat started walking off, saying, “Follow me.”
Leeanne stood her ground, her voice flat. “First, tell me, how long will it take to get there? Is it dangerous?”
The old goat shook his long beard, his eyes flicking slyly. “It’s not far, won’t take much time, and there’s no danger.”
Leeanne snorted coldly.
She could tell the old goat was lying. From his evasive answers, it was obvious the trip would take a while, and there were definitely wild beasts guarding the place.
The old goat clearly wanted the carrots and was trying to use her again.
She did want carrots, though. After all, she didn’t have any in her garden yet.
But right now, her top priority was helping Snowy figure out how to survive. She only had fifteen hours left on this island, and she had to finish this task first.
Seeing Leeanne still standing there, the old goat got anxious. “Come on, let’s hurry. It’ll be dark soon.”
Leeanne let go of her soft whip and cracked it with a sharp snap. “Are you sure? If you waste my time, I’ll kill you!”
The old goat stumbled back two steps, terrified. “Y… You… I… It wasn’t dangerous before, but… I haven’t been there in ages.”
Leeanne snorted and ignored him.
She turned to Little Blue. “Get this old guy out of the way and keep an eye on him. Don’t let him run off.”
She wanted to convince the panda–eyed lamb on her own, without the old goat interfering.
Little Blue swooped down, ripped out a chunk of the old goat’s beard with a sharp claw, and growled, “Get lost, you old fossil!”
Leeanne was startled.
Little Blue was getting sassier by the day. Leeanne honestly worried that someday it’d mouth off to the wrong person and wind up getting cooked or grilled.
Little Blue was so aggressive that the old goat didn’t dare mess around and hurried off to the side with it.
Leeanne walked over to the panda–eyed lamb, crouched down, and said gently, “Hey, little guy, I know you love carrots, but there’s all this alfalfa here. It’s pretty yummy, too, isn’t it?”
“I’m tired of it,” the panda–eyed lamb said softly, blinking its little eyes.
“But honestly, you’d rather play with your friends than munch on carrots, right?” Lecanne coaxed.
“Yeah…” the panda–eyed lamb lowered its head, looking a bit glum. “But they say I’m dumb and can’t think of any new

games. I’m timid, too. So they don’t want me around.”
Leeanne’s eyes sparkled. She thought, ‘Looks like I’ve got a shot here.

This little guy’s so timid and easy to talk into things, way easier than chasing after carrots.
Leeanne gently patted its head, then slowly opened her palm to reveal a hacky sack. “Here, I’ll give you a toy and show you how to play with it. Then you can teach the other lambs this game. After that, you tell me what’s weird about the ruins, deal?”
The panda–eyed lamb looked up, eyes wide with surprise and curiosity. “How do you play with this?”
I’ll show you.” Leeanne stood up and gave the hacky sack a toss. “There are all kinds of ways to play with it.”
Animals in the game world were way smarter than those in the common world, so picking up playing hacky sack was a >reeze for them.
It was just like teaching a kid.
n just seven or eight minutes, Leeanne taught the lamb a bunch of different ways to play with it.
The panda–eyed lamb was so happy, it was like it had stumbled onto treasure. It clamped the hacky sack in its mouth and
bsolutely refused to give it back to Leeanne.
But it was just a hacky sack, so Leeanne didn’t mind at all. With a few scraps of cloth and some millet or sand, she could
asily make another one.
She could make as many as she liked.
Leeanne brushed her hands together and smiled. “Alright, can you tell me the secret of the ruins now?”
The panda–eyed lamb placed the hacky sack under its hoof and nodded. “Sure, I’ll take you there right now. The secret needs me to be there, because I’m the only one who can do that dance.”
Leeanne smiled gently. “Alright.”
Kids really are pure at heart,‘ Leeanne mused, shooting a look at the old goat. “That geezer over there brags about being hree hundred years old, but I doubt he’s ever told the truth in his life.’
The panda–eyed lamb snatched up the hacky sack and scampered off, carefully tucking it under a rock before trotting back >ver. Looking up at Leeanne with big, eager eyes, it said, “Let’s all go together.”
Leeanne nodded, called Little Blue and the old goat over, and followed the lamb back toward the ruins.
When they got to the ruins, a bunch of lambs were playing hide–and–seek.
The ruins were full of collapsed frames, and the lambs were darting in and out of them, giggling and having a blast.
The panda–eyed lamb stopped, looking hesitant, and whispered, “I don’t want to dance in front of them. They always say my dancing looks weird and laugh at me.”
Leeanne glanced at Little Blue, who immediately caught on and shouted, “I’ll go and drive those little brats off.”
Snowy suddenly volunteered, “Maybe I should do it instead?”
It was afraid Little Blue would be too rough, especially since Little Blue had just yanked out the old goat’s beard.
