Chapter 133
Leeanne jumped in shock. “Little Blue, that thing is poisonous! Don’t eat it!”

Compared to the others, the old goat was way more composed. It rammed through the bats with brute force, knocking them down left and right. They dropped like flies, not a single one moving.
Little Blue went wild, and Leeanne couldn’t get there in time. The old goat barreled over, smashing the bats that were swarming Little Blue and sending them flying.
There were so many bats that nobody paid attention to the old goat, and it got caught up in the chaos too.
The old goat dashed around everywhere, but somehow managed to avoid getting hurt.
Leeanne kept firing arrows, feeling lucky she’d made the entrance smaller and set up a fire. Even though a ton of bats swarmed in, most were blocked by the narrow opening and the flames. ·
Actually, she’d only come up with this idea when she was fighting those rats earlier.
All these bats were tier one or two. Back when she went after Bob’s last treasure, even just a handful of them would’ve been tough for her to handle, let alone dealing with an endless swarm like this.
Bob didn’t just stash the treasure deeper this time, he also seriously amped up the defenses around the treasure chest.
Leeanne had no idea how long she’d been fighting, but the bats finally started to thin out, until only a few stragglers were left.
When the last bat hit the ground, Leeanne just stood there, gasping for air.
‘Man, I’m exhausted!‘ Leeanne thought to herself.
Little Blue came hopping over, looking like a total wreck. One of its paws was hurt, and its feathers were sticking out everywhere.
It was still in a rage. “Argh! I’m bald now! Ugh, gross!”
The old goat, sly as ever, didn’t have a single scratch. It glanced at Little Blue and sighed, “That’s what you get for being so wild. Look at you, not just bald, but limping too.”
Little Blue shot back, “Even limping, I could still take you down, you old goal!”
The old goat snorted, “Yeah, right. If your master wasn’t always saving your hide, with that attitude, you wouldn’t last three days!”
Little Blue spat, “You’re the one who won’t last three days! I’ll outlive you, old geezer!”
Leeanne quickly grabbed Little Blue, held its beak, and sprinkled some hemostatic powder onto its wound.
The injury would heal, but the lost feathers wouldn’t grow back. Poor Little Blue had no tail feathers left, its wings were all messed up, and it couldn’t fly at all now.
It was hopping around on the ground, looking just like a chicken.
Of course, even as a chicken, it had a fierce attitude.
Leeanne closed her eyes for a moment. ‘Man, I can’t even bring myself to look at this, she thought.

Earlier, Little Blue had gone completely wild, charging right into the swarm of bats. Nobody could hold it back.
If it hadn’t been so reckless, it wouldn’t have gotten hurt this badly.
Leeanne was really worried. If Little Blue kept acting so wild, she wouldn’t be able to protect it if they ever ran into a truly dangerous beast.
‘Forget it, time to grab the loot!‘ Leeanne thought to herself.
Leeanne went on a harvesting spree, collecting from the bats as she moved along.
[Disassemble Bat: Bat Venom x1, Bat Fangs xl acquired.]
[Disassemble Bat…]
She scooped up the venom, gathered her arrows and traps, and before long, had the whole area cleared out.
“Let’s go!” she called out, hurrying toward the main hall.
Leeanne dashed back into the main hall.
The hall was pitch black. She raised her torch and spotted the treasure chest not far away.
‘It should be safe now, right?‘ she thought.
Leeanne was just about to step forward when the old goat suddenly shouted, “Let me handle this!”
It dashed over, rammed the stone table with its horns, knocking it over and revealing the treasure chest underneath. The old goat reached out with its hoof and tried to open the chest. “Wait, it needs a key?”
With a loud bang, a bat shot out from the treasure chest and latched onto the old goat’s rear, sending him crying out in pain.
Leeanne furrowed her brow and quickly pulled out her horn bow.
With a sharp whoosh, her arrow shot out like a meteor, smacking right into the bat. The bat let out a few shrill cries before crashing to the ground, dead.
A shiny thing dropped out of the bat’s body with a little ‘ding!‘ Leeanne walked over and picked it up. It was a key,
[Key Acquired: This is the key to Bob’s treasure chest. Bob: Someone’s trying to steal my treasure chest? No way! I need to lock it up! Lock it up, lock it up, lock everything up!]
Leeanne couldn’t help but smile. ‘So you locked it up, huh? But why’d you leave the key right here?‘ she mused to herself.
But this time, Bob had stashed the treasure chest way deeper and rigged it with traps. If Leeanne had been the one poking around earlier, she could’ve easily ended up getting hurt instead.
‘Looks like Bob’s gotten sneakier, Leeanne thought to herself.
Leeanne pulled out her arrow, slipped it back into her quiver, then picked up the key and tried it out against the lock.
[Do you want to open Bob’s treasure chest?]
Leeanne paused for a second, then called out to Little Blue and the old goat, “Come here, quick!”
She stashed Little Blue and the old goat in her Pet Pouch, then pulled out her Teleport Card, getting ready to grab the loot

and make a run for it.
Finally, she glanced at the old goat.

The old goat had a deep wound on its rear, and the skin around it was already turning black. There was no doubt it was poisoned.
‘Are you okay?” Leeanne asked.
‘I’m fine. I’m three hundred years old. This poison’s nothing to me,” the old goat said, backing up a couple of steps. “Hurry up and open the chest. Once you grab the loot, my wound will heal!”
This time, it wasn’t daring to get anywhere near that chest.
Leeanne nodded slightly and slipped the key into the lock.
Do you want to open Bob’s treasure chest?]
Yes!”
Bob’s treasure chest opened. Obtained Gold–tier Spirit Potion x3; Advanced Spirit Beast Evolution Pills x3. Items have been placed in your backpack.]
Leeanne quickly collected Bob’s treasure chest and stepped back several paces.
A loud roar echoed through the hall. “Who’s messing with my treasure chest again? Oh, it’s you! Again!”
It was Bob’s voice.
Leeanne barked at the old goat, “Move it!”
She spun around and bolted out of there.
Leeanne sprinted through the passage, dashed up the stone stairs, and raced past the spot where the treasure chest phantom mage had appeared. She rushed out of the cave and found herself halfway up the mountainside.
She kept running down the mountain, only stopping when she reached a clearing.
There was no sound from Bob anymore. ‘Did he not chase after us?‘ Leeanne wondered.
Leeanne plopped down on a tree stump, ready to catch her breath and check out what she’d scored.
The old goat dragged itself over, black blood dripping from its rear, looking like it was about to drop dead from exhaustion.
It gasped for air, “Are… are you going to keep all the loot for yourself?”
Leeanne ignored the old goat and focused on her loot. Those two shiny new treasures: Gold–tier Spirit Potion and Advanced Spirit Beast Evolution Pills.
The Gold–tier Spirit Potion was a thick, golden syrup, packed in three tiny clear bottles, each about the size of a potion vial.
[Gold–tier Spirit Potion: Instantly boosts the growth of beasts or spirit beasts, letting them evolve twice. Fast, safe, works right away, zero side effects.]
The Advanced Spirit Beast Evolution Pills were little round pills, barely a quarter inch across, packed in a small, clear bottle.

Leeanne took a quick look at the info for both items and made her decision on the spot.
No matter how fast she ran, Bob would always catch up. The only way to shake him off for a while was to use her Teleport Card and teleport far away.
So, she wasn’t going to run anymore.
She took out two bottles of Gold–tier Spirit Potion and released Little Blue and the old goat from her pet backpack.
As soon as Little Blue and the old goat saw the two bottles in Leeanne’s hands, their eyes lit up.
Little Blue chirped, “Wow, that looks delicious! I want it!”
The old goat asked, “Master, is this for us?”
“Yes!” Leeanne popped the caps and threw one bottle to Little Blue, then tossed the other to the old goat.
Little Blue grabbed the bottle in its beak, tipped its head back, and gulped down the whole thing in one go.
