Chapter 15
Rodger glanced at the stove and spotted the small stainless steel pot sitting on top. His eyes lit up with excitement.
But he quickly pulled himself together. “Leeanne, watch this!”
He pulled out a piece of wood, smacked it with his palm, and with a loud crack, the wood shattered into a dozen smaller sticks.
I’ve always been strong. This kind of wood splits apart with one hit. Perfect for firewood, right?” Rodger grinned.
Leeanne’s eyes widened in shock. ‘Is that the legendary crushing palm? That’s wild,‘ she thought.
“Wait, you know martial arts?” she asked.
Rodger looked a bit smug. “Yeah, my family’s been doing martial arts for generations.”
Leeanne couldn’t help but ask, “What’s your strength stat?”
She wondered just how much strength she’d need to pull off a move like that herself.
Rodger puffed up with pride. “My base strength is 15.”
Man, the gap is huge,‘ Leeanne thought, and she couldn’t help but sigh.
The water was boiling, so she whipped up some pasta, sent it to Rodger, and ended the call.
What she didn’t know was that Rodger didn’t eat it right away. Instead, he popped the lid off, snapped a bunch of pics and videos, and sent them out one by one to his friends.
Rodger: [Check this out, guys. Just to make you jealous. A piping hot bowl of beef pasta.]
After ending her chat with Rodger, Leeanne eagerly pulled out the standard key William had given her and headed straight for the chest she’d just gotten from Rodger.
She slid the key into the lock, and with a satisfying click, the chest popped open.
You’ve obtained: 1 underwear set, I tracksuit, I bottle of shampoo, and 3 bars of soap.]
Score! These are awesome, Leeanne thought to herself.
She’d been wearing the same clothes for two days straight, sweating so much that everything was sticky and gross. She’d been dying for a fresh outfit, so this new set couldn’t have come at a better time.
She decided that once she wrapped up her tasks for the day, she’d splurge a little–wipe herself down with some purities water and finally slip into her new clothes,
Right now, she needed to focus on bartering for supplies.
She was sticking to her plan–while everyone else was desperate for food and water, she wanted to stock up on other
essentials.
After filtering water for a whole day and night, she’d managed to save up three bottles of mineral water, two more liters from her filter, and several types of food. Now, she was planning to barter for even more.
Stuff like seeds or blueprints.

Leeanne posted in the chat channel: [Mineral water, wholewheat bread roll, and bread roll up for trade–looking for any kind of seeds, blueprints, or wood.]
Rodger: [Do you still have any pasta? My sister has a weapon blueprint and wants to swap it for some pasta. Would you be up for that trade?]
Leeanne’s heart skipped a beat. She was planning to hit the island tomorrow, and a weapon was just what she needed right
now,
Before she could reply to Rodger, a message popped up from a stranger.
Danelle Spangler: [Hey Leeanne, I’m Rodger’s sister. I’ve got a basic spear blueprint. Any chance you could whip up some pasta for me? And I heard you’ve got strawberries. Mind throwing one in so I can satisfy my craving?]
Weapon blueprints were insanely rare right now. Nobody was selling them.
Trading a bowl of pasta and a strawberry for a weapon blueprint? That was a total win for her.
Leeanne could hardly believe what she was hearing.
She quickly agreed.
Rodger sent another message: [Danelle’s a foodie, so ask for whatever you want. Don’t hold back. She’s got crazy martial arts skills, so honestly, that basic spear means nothing to her.]
Leeanne couldn’t help but be impressed. ‘Guess that’s what happens when you’re from a martial arts family. Regular weapons just aren’t good enough for them,‘ she thought.
Both Rodger and Danelle were really easygoing about the trades–even ended up giving Leeanne a bit more than they got. Leeanne wasn’t one to take advantage, so she cooked Danelle a bowl of pasta and threw in a strawberry to keep things fair.
Rodger and Danelle were great people, and with their martial arts skills, they’d make excellent long–term trading partners.
While she was making the pasta, Leeanne was busy chatting and scrolling through the channel, hunting for anyone with decent stuff to trade.
Too bad, most people didn’t have anything good. After sifting through a bunch of lame offers, she finally traded three bottles of mineral water, five steamed buns, and a sandwich for fifty pieces of wood, fifty nails, forty pieces of plastic, and three pieces of iron.
The iron and wood were hogging way too much space, so Leeanne figured she’d just expand her raft by another 50 square
feet.
That brought her raft up to 270 square feet.
Only 30 more square feet left!
Right now, wood, nails, and plastic were the easiest things to score, so Leeanne picked out some decent offers and traded some of her filtered water for thirty pieces of wood and thirty nails. In one go, she bumped her raft up to a full 300 square
feet.
Honestly, she just thought it looked nicer that way.
Suddenly, the system chimed in
[Survival Tip. Your raft has reached 300 square feet! New items are now unlocked at the workbench. Take a look!!

This survival system, mashed together with Survival on the Seas mechanics, was kind of buggy. Sometimes it bombarded her with notifications, and other times it wouldn’t say a word for ages.
Whatever, she’d just wing it.
Besides, with the mystical cherry grove letting her farm and all that Lucky Streaked up, it was basically like having a giant cheat code.
As she mulled it over, Leeanne opened up her workbench, and sure enough, a bunch of new items had popped up.
[Iron Axe: Lets you chop wood and cut down trees–a must–have for survival. Materials needed: 3 wood, 3 iron. Durability: 100.]
[Iron Shovel: Lets you dig up soil–an absolute survival essential. Materials needed: 3 wood, 3 iron. Durability: 100.]
[Iron Pickaxe: Lets you gather rocks and all kinds of ores–totally necessary for survival. Materials needed: 3 wood, 3 iron. Durability: 100.]
[Spear: The most basic weapon. Hey, it’s way better than fighting bare–handed. Don’t you think? Materials needed: spear blueprint, 3 wood, 3 iron. Durability: 100.]
[Backpack: An expandable backpack with 10 storage slots. Certain items can stack. A must–have for any adventure. Materials needed: 2 cloth, 2 spatial stones.]
The iron axe, iron pickaxe, and iron shovel didn’t need any blueprints, and she could make as many as she wanted.
Probably because they were essential survival items.
Leeanne was planning to hit the island tomorrow to chop trees and mine for resources, so she went ahead and crafted herself an iron axe, an iron pickaxe, and a spear right away.
A backpack was absolutely essential too. ‘If I’d had one yesterday, I wouldn’t have had to just dump that chest on the beach, Leeanne thought, feeling a bit regretful.
But what exactly are spatial stones?
After thinking it over, she decided to ask Rodger and Jessica first. Those two were always glued to the chat channel, unlike her–when she got busy, she could go hours without even checking in.
Leeanne asked Jessica, [Hey, have you ever seen a spatial stone?]
Leeanne asked Rodger, [Hey, have you ever seen a spatial stone?
Jessica: [Spatial stones? I’ve seen someone try to sell one before. They’re insanely valuable and rare. Hardly anyone ever puts them up for trade.J
