Wow, so the real pro is someone else! That person can just give away pasta to others like it’s no big deal. They must have a on of good stuff!]
someone said sourly, [Who is it? So generous–not only saved you, but gave you so much good food. Is she some kind of airy or what?]
Villiam declared with conviction, [In my heart, she is a fairy!]
omeone caught on. [A fairy? So it’s a girl. Wow, William’s luck is insane. A beautiful girl saved him and gave him food. Why an’t I have a little fairy come save me?]
I want a little fairy too!]
Why can’t I have that kind of luck? So envious!]
William, who is that fairy girl?”
I bet she’s a kind girl–pretty and cute, really a good person. Honestly, if I could talk to that fairy, I’d say I haven’t had water or two days either.]
Me too! Fairy, notice me!]
eeanne knew everyone was just messing around, but she was still worried William might spill the beans. She shot him a uick message: [Don’t tell them it’s me.]
Villiam replied right away, [Got it!]
ven though he was usually pretty quiet, he still needed someone to talk to. Ever since Leeanne saved him, he was super rateful.
ut he didn’t dare say much, worried he might mess up and make Leeanne mad, so he just kept everything to himself.
till. that gratitude was eating him up inside, so he accidentally blurted out too much in the chat just now.
le instantly regretted it and clammed up, ignoring whatever anyone else said.
The chat channel went wild over this for a long time.
ust then, Leeanne got a message.
todger: [Hey, you got a firestarter? Can you light a fire?]
eeanne didn’t want to deal with him. That schemer was always looking to score something for free
Rodger got desperate and fired off another message [Hey, girl, sorry! I honestly have no clue what I did to tick you off, but
in saying sorry anyway. You can light a fire, right? I wanna team up and do business with you!
Leeanne kept ignoring him, just focused on sorting her stuff
Rodger. [Got a locked normal chest. Interested?]
Rodger was getting anxious. He’d been keeping an eye on Leeanne for a while, guessing she was progressing fast and probably had a bunch of good stuff.

At first, he just wanted to trade with her. Sure, his asking price was a bit outrageous, but that was just how business worked- you haggle, you negotiate, and eventually you make a deal.
He just wanted to score a little extra, make a profit.
But Leeanne just ignored him completely.
After that, she just stopped responding altogether. With no other options left, he had to play his trump card and offer up the
best item he had.
He believed there was no way Leeanne would ignore him now.
Finally, Leeanne replied, [Sure, I want it. You giving it away for free?]
Man, this girl is always unpredictable!‘ Rodger thought.
And then, Leeanne just ghosted him again.
Rodger was getting desperate now. Leeanne had something he really needed.
After a moment’s hesitation, Rodger gritted his teeth and sent the locked normal chest her way. “Take it, it’s free.”
Leeanne was totally surprised. She’d just said it offhand, but honestly, she actually wanted that chest. With her Lady Luck still active, she was sure she could score some good stuff from a locked normal chest.
But Rodger was way too crafty. She was racking her brain for a way to negotiate without getting ripped off.
Rodger’s move really caught her off guard. Leeanne didn’t just take it. [Come on, I can’t just take it for nothing. What do you want for it?]
Rodger was thrilled; if she was willing to negotiate, that was all he needed.
He’d been betting on what kind of person Leeanne was, and he was almost certain she was the one who’d saved William.
A girl like her wouldn’t accept a treasure chest that valuable without offering something in return.
And sure enough, he’d guessed right.
Rodger let out a sigh of relief. After thinking it over, he got straight to the point. “I know you’re doing well and have plenty of supplies. I just want to work together long–term, trade what we need. We can work out a deal for this chest. I don’t know what you’ve got, so you name your terms.”
Name my own price? Leeanne thought, a little surprised. ‘Is Rodger trying to figure out what I have?
She hesitated for a moment
She knew just how valuable a locked normal chest was She’d scored plenty of great loot from them before. This hail to be the best item Rodger owned
Locked normal chests were basically priceless, nobody in their right mind would sell one. Why not just keep it and open it yourself?
Rodger was definitely trying to make friends with her,
Leeanne sorted through her stash, and after thinking it over, she only showed Rodger a handful of things she was willing to trade; the wooden bed blueprint, some strawberries, fish, rope, cloth, and a sandwich.

That was all she wanted to offer up for the deal.
Her stainless steel utensils, oats, and other essentials were off–limits–she needed those for herself.
Plus, there was no way she was going to let Rodger see everything she had.
She messaged him. [I don’t have much, but these are up for trade right now. Your pick.]
Rodger’s eyebrows shot up.

‘Not much? Yeah, right, classic humblebrag!‘ he thought. ‘It’s only been two days, and Leeanne’s already stocked up this much?
She had way more supplies than he did. Now he was even more relieved he’d bet on the right person.
Leeanne was definitely someone worth befriending.
Out of all the stuff she offered, what Rodger wanted most was the wooden bed blueprint. He already had everything he needed to make one, and having a real bed would make life way more comfortable.
But he was worried Leeanne might not want to give it up, so he tested the waters: [You’re not gonna build a wooden bed yourself? Need more materials? I can help you out!]
[No need, if you want it, it’s yours!] Leeanne replied.
Rodger: [Great, I’ll take the wooden bed blueprint. And…]
He hesitated, then asked a bit sheepishly, [You can cook pasta, right? Any chance you could make me some? I don’t have a firestarter…]
[No problem!] Leeanne replied.
Clearly, Rodger was treading carefully, afraid he’d come across as too greedy and make Leeanne dislike him.
Rodger sent the locked normal chest straight to Leeanne. She handed over the wooden bed blueprint first, then boiled some water and made him a serving of pasta.
While the water was heating up, Rodger struck up another conversation. [Hey Leeanne, you’ve got a firestarter, right? Mind helping me get a fire going?]
Rodger sent over some chopped firewood.
Leeanne checked it out–it was a chunk of firewood about as thick as a kid’s arm, edges all rough and jagged, like someone had just split it with brute force.
