Apprentice 23 shot him a sideways glance. “You’re such a wimp. It wasn’t us who chopped the tree down, it was her. Bob will only go after her. Why would he come after you?”
ceanne was speechless.
he wasn’t scared. She’d already made it onto Bob’s blacklist ages ago. She’d stolen so much from Bob already, at this point, what’s one more? I’ve swiped so much from him, this is nothing!
ut when she checked her backpack and saw only 190 pieces of Advanced White Pine, she felt a wave of disappointment. That’s so little. What can I even do with it?‘ she thought.
Doing all the tree chopping alone was painfully slow.
ecanne sat on the boat, looking glum.
Vith a thud, a chest landed in front of her, and the sea demon vine’s childish voice piped up, “Master, hurry up and open he chest! Don’t be sad!”
ceanne glanced at it. ‘Viney is such a thoughtful little sweetheart,‘ she thought. ‘Not like Little Blue, who just chatters away laying with her remote control speedboat.’
oo bad, today was Gatherer’s Luck, and it didn’t affect chests at all. There was no way she’d get anything good out of it.
sut keeping the chest until tomorrow wouldn’t help either. It wouldn’t get any luck boost from tomorrow’s fortune.
Whatever, I’ll just open it for some stress relief, Leeanne thought.
You opened the chest and received 1 Golden Plant Nutrient Solution. It’s been added to your backpack.]
Golden Plant Nutrient Solution? Now that’s some good stuff,’ she thought.
But this nutrient solution had to be used within 24 hours or it would lose its effect. She already had a bottle stored in her vhite jade treasure chest, saving it for Viney.
Since she couldn’t use this one right now, she decided to stash it in the white jade treasure chest too.
Leeanne took out her white jade treasure chest and opened it, planning to stash the Golden Plant Nutrient Solution inside.
But the chest was already stuffed full with cherries, Golden Plant Nutrient Solution, and Snowy’s Blood Dew Pills. There wasn’t even a sliver of space left for anything else.
Leeanne tried several times, but nothing would fit.
She stared at the jam–packed chest, feeling frustrated. She didn’t dare take anything out. There weren’t many cherries left, and not a single one could go to waste,
As she was hesitating, a drop of something clear suddenly landed on her hand.
‘Hmm?‘ Leeanne wondered.
She turned her head and saw Apprentice 49, eyes locked onto the cherries, drool trickling down his chin.
‘Oh wow, what a little snack monster!‘ Leeanne thought.

She quickly snapped the chest shut and patted Apprentice 49’s head. “Hey, little guy, want some strawberries instead?”
There was no way she was giving him any cherries.
Apprentice 49 wiped his drool, his cheeks turning a little red. “Leeanne, what’s inside the chest?”
Leeanne smiled. “Sweetie, they’re all my treasures!”
Apprentice 49 was a shy, well–behaved kid. He fidgeted for a while, his face turning bright red, and finally blurted out, “Leeanne’s treasures are really tasty… No, I mean, really pretty.
Then he ran off.
Leeanne couldn’t help but smile. “That little guy is so greedy, but even with all that craving, he still won’t ask me for anything. He’s got some real principles, she thought.
She held the Golden Plant Nutrient Solution and sighed, asking the sea demon vine, “Viney, can you eat the nutrient solution yet?”
The sea demon vine unfurled its tendrils and whispered, “Actually, I could eat it now, but I’m not totally sure about the timing. It’d be safer to wait a couple more days.”
You could tell Viney was really craving the nutrient solution. Its tendrils curled up a bit. “Even if I eat it now, the effect might just be a little weaker. Hmm… it could work at 100%, or maybe only 95%…”
‘So at most just a 5% difference?” Leeanne made up her mind right away. “Go ahead and eat it. You pulled it up yourself, so there’s no need to worry about wasting it!”
The sea demon vine perked up. “Thank you, Master!”
Leeanne felt a lot better too. She walked over to Viney’s pot and poured the Golden Plant Nutrient Solution in.
The golden, sticky liquid quickly seeped into the roots of the vines.
Leeanne heard the sea demon vine let out a couple of happy giggles, and then a burst of green light filled her vision.
The sea demon vine’s tendrils spread out, covering the entire raft. Leeanne couldn’t see what was happening outside, but she could hear Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49 exclaiming in surprise over and over.
A swirl of rainbow colors–red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet–sparkled brilliantly before her eyes.
She quickly shielded her eyes.
After a while, the sea demon vine let out a soft chuckle. “Master, I’m all done! Worked perfectly, 100% absorbed, not a single drop wasted!”
Leeanne opened her eyes and saw everything on the raft was just as before. The sea demon vine’s tendrils still sprawled across the wooden pleasure boat and all the buildings.
But somehow, the leaves looked even more vibrant than before.
Lecanne asked, “Viney, did you get any new abilities?”
The sea demon vine replied excitedly, “Master, check me out! Look at me!”
Leeanne glanced over.

‘Whoa, Viney actually has skills now? What a surprise,‘ Leeanne thought.
Not a single drop of the Golden Plant Nutrient Solution went to waste. Sweet!
Leeanne felt all her worries melt away.
She turned around to find Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49 watching her with wide eyes, full of surprise.
“Not bad, you really pulled it off,” Apprentice 23 muttered, then said more seriously, “Talk about luck! Bob’s family is gone. Bob’s eldest grandson is getting married today, so they’re all off celebrating. That means the island’s empty. We can get back to chopping trees, and we don’t have to worry about getting caught! You might actually hit your goal of 1,000 trees.”
Leeanne was thrilled. “Really? But aren’t there still forest rangers?”
Apprentice 23 snorted. “The forest ranger is Bob’s grandson too. Of course he went to the wedding.”
Leeanne’s face lit up. “So… we’re going back?”
Apprentice 23 nodded. “Yeah, they probably won’t be back until around 1 AM. You’ve got at least ten hours…”
Leeanne frowned. “Ten hours?”
But my Gatherer’s Luck expires at ten tonight, so I’ve really only got seven hours. With how slow I was earlier, even if I had the full ten hours, I’d be lucky to chop down seventy or eighty trees. Ugh, this is going to be tough,‘ Leeanne thought.
She’d have to keep chopping non–stop if she wanted to make any progress.
Building a two–story villa was a massive undertaking. It needed a ridiculous amount of wood. She needed 10,000 pieces each of Redbeak Wood and White Pine, which meant chopping down 2,000 trees just for those two types.
“And that’s not even counting the Red Oak and Yellow Teak. There were so many trees, and chopping them was no joke. There was no way she could handle it all by herself.
She figured it was time to call in some players for backup–more hands, more power,
But bringing in other players wasn’t without its risks. She’d have to plan carefully and make sure everything was sorted before taking action.
Leeanne was thinking it over, and Apprentice 23 got impatient. “Hey, are you going or not? If you are, hurry up! Don’t waste any more time.”
Leeanne glanced at Apprentice 23. “Where’s your little boat?”
Apprentice 23 had come over on her own little boat, but as soon as she stepped onto Leeanne’s raft, her boat vanished.
Apprentice 23 pointed, and her little boat popped back into view on the water not far from the raft. ‘See? I just put it away
earlier.”
Leeanne stared intently at the little wooden pleasure boat. “Apprentice 23, can your wooden pleasure boat be expanded? Like, can it be upgraded to a bigger size?”
Apprentice 23 looked at her, puzzled. “What’s your plan?”

She explained her plan, and Apprentice 23 thought for a moment, then suddenly nudged Apprentice 49. “He can do it. His wooden pleasure boat is a treasure from his master. It can expand up to 10 thousand square feet. He can help you.”
Apprentice 49 glanced at Apprentice 23 and Leeanne with a blank, confused look.
He nibbled on his fingernails.
Apprentice 23 batted his hand aside and said to Leeanne, “Apprentice 49 can help you, but that’s a whole different favor. You’ll need to give him something else in return.”
