Chapter 161
Chapter 161
[Advanced White Pine: This White Pine has been specially cultivated and aged for years, making it tougher, waterproof fireproof, and insect–resistant. It’s a top–notch wood that’s hard to come by J
‘Nice, it’s waterproof, fireproof, and keeps bugs away. Plus, it’s got a solid build. You can tell it’s been growing for ages; Leeanne thought.
She ran her hand over the wood, feeling genuinely satisfied.
Apprentice 23 pointed ahead. “Just a bit further, and you’ll reach the Red Oak and Redbeak Wood groves. They’ve been specially planted and carefully tended.”
Leeanne followed for just a few minutes, and sure enough, she found the Red Oak and Redbeak Wood groves.
Both types of wood were a deep red, with a slight difference in shade. The Red Oak’s leaves were golden and orange, while the Redbeak Wood’s leaves were a vivid red, just as bright as autumn foliage.
All the trees stood remarkably tall and sturdy, spaced perfectly evenly apart.
Yep, no question, these were clearly cultivated, Leeanne thought.
Every so often, you’d spot a couple of wooden chairs set up along the path or beside the trees–obviously there for folks to
rest.
At the moment, there were two wooden chairs right next to them.
Leeanne suddenly remembered something. “Didn’t you say all the advanced wood types were here? What about the white pomelo wood? I don’t see it anywhere.”
Apprentice 23 glanced around, scratching her head. “That’s odd. It’s gone. Did someone move the white pomelo wood?”
She turned to Apprentice 49. “Did you see any white pomelo wood the last time you were here?”
Apprentice 49 shook her head, looking adorable. “I forgot. We didn’t come this far back then. We just wandered around and went to play at the old man’s new house.”
Leeanne couldn’t hold back her curiosity. “Who’s the old man?”
Apprentice 49 said with a cute grin, “That’s Bob!”
Bob? Leeanne wondered to herself.
Wow, talk about fate. Looks like we just can’t avoid each other,‘ she thought.
Leeanne nervously scanned her surroundings. ‘Damn, if Bob shows up and sees me, is he gonna freak out? I brought a teleport card, but since Apprentice 49 brought me to this island today, it probably won’t let me teleport out.”
‘And if I bail, what about Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49?‘
Leeanne’s expression kept shifting, worry written all over her face.
Apprentice 23 noticed and asked curiously, “Leeanne, are you scared?
Leeanne whispered, “Aren’t you guys afraid of Bob? If he shows up. can you two run off on your own!

Apprentice 49 bit her finger and said. “We’re not scared. Anyway, we’ll just say we got lost. The old man can’t really do anything to us.”
Apprentice 23 flashed a sly grin. “We’re not the ones chopping down trees, so what’s there to be afraid of? But if you sneak off with any of his precious wood, he’ll probably go ballistic on you. We’re just your guides, don’t count on us for anything
else.”
Leeanne relaxed a little, knowing Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49 would be fine. At least she could bolt if things went south, and not have to worry about them.
Apprentice 23 caught her anxious look and continued, “Bob has been tending these groves for years. They’re meant for his youngest son’s new house, which he’ll start building next month. Bob is seriously petty.
“If you so much as chop down one of his precious trees, he’ll hold a grudge and chase you forever. So, you’d better think it through.”
Leeanne glanced at the endless groves and muttered, “I’m not just cutting down a few trees here.”
Apprentice 23 raised an eyebrow. “A few trees aren’t enough? What, you need ten or twenty? Weren’t you just making some furniture?”
Leeanne replied, “I’m building a house.”
Apprentice 23’s face changed. “What?!”
Leeanne swept her gaze around. “I’m probably gonna need about a thousand trees of each kind, so, yeah, nearly three thousand trees in total.”
There was just no getting around it. She needed a ton of wood. Leeanne found it pretty weird, honestly. She was starting to hink the system was swallowing up all her supplies. ‘Come on, there’s no way a two–story villa would need this much wood.” she thought.
She used to worry about running out, but now, with all these trees around, she didn’t have to stress. There was more than enough for her needs.
Apprentice 23 pulled her arms around herself, shrinking back a little. “Suit yourself, but don’t say we brought you here Just ell them you quietly tagged along with Apprentice 23, and whatever happens, don’t mention me!”
Leeanne nodded. “Got it!”
Leeanne looked around nervously and asked, “Is Bob here?”
Apprentice 23 replied, “Bob isn’t here, but there are guards, plus his son and grandson. None of them are pushovers. You wouldn’t win against any of them!”
Whatever, let’s just get started. Better than nothing, Leeanne thought.
She immediately pulled out her advanced iron axe and started chopping at the advanced White Pine. After seven or eight minutes, with a heavy crash, the tree toppled over. Finally, she finished chopping down her first tree
[You’ve chopped down I Advanced White Pine. Thanks to Gatherer’s Luck today, you scored a x10 critical hit and got 100 Advanced White Pine. It’s been added to your backpack]
Whoa, not bad at all, Leeanne thought, genuinely impressed.
‘Coming here was the right move. Gatherer’s Luck really came through for me today, she thought.

Leeanne was absolutely beaming.
Fueled by excitement, she jumped right back into chopping.
Too bad Gatherer’s Luck started slacking off. Sometimes it was only a 2x or 3x boost. After more than half an hour of work, she ended up with just 190 logs of advanced White Pine.
And man, those advanced White Pines were a nightmare to chop. After just a bit over half an hour, Leeanne was gasping for air, her arms feeling like lead.
She had to stop and catch her breath.
Apprentice 23 lounged on a wooden chair nearby, staring at Leeanne like she’d lost her mind. “You’re really hacking away with that thing? No wonder you’re so slow!”
Leeanne rubbed her aching arms, her eyes practically glued to Apprentice 23’s chainsaw. “Hey, how about letting me try your chainsaw for a bit?”
“No way!” Apprentice 23 instantly hid the chainsaw behind her back. “If Bob catches wind of it, he’ll flip out and come after us, and my master, too! I told you, I’m just your guide, not your lumberjack. Don’t forget what you promised.”
Apprentice 23 was seriously on edge now.
Leeanne realized it that Bob and Lucas must have some kind of connection, or maybe they’re both big shots around here. That’s probably why Bob wouldn’t mess with Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 29 easily.
But if Apprentice 23 pushed their luck too far, Bob definitely wouldn’t let it slide.
Leeanne was just testing things out, and now that her hunch was confirmed, she definitely wouldn’t drag Apprentice 23 into any trouble.
After taking a short break, Leeanne pulled out her iron axe, ready to get back to work.
Suddenly, Apprentice 23’s face went pale. “Crap, someone’s coming! We gotta go!”
Right after, Apprentice 49 popped out of nowhere. “Apprentice 23, hurry up! A whole horde of Bobs is coming!”
A whole horde of Bobs?‘ Leeanne thought.
Leeanne was totally freaked out. ‘One Bob could squash me flat. If there’s a whole crowd of them, I’d be toast, not even a strand of my hair would survive!‘ she thought.
Apprentice 23 grabbed her arm, and the three of them bolted out of the grove, making a beeline for the boat.
The sea demon vine was already waiting. As soon as Leeanne gave the word, it shot out its vines and wrapped them up. hauling everyone onto the boat in a flash.
Apprentice 49 rushed to the helm and gunned the engine, speeding the boat away from the shore.
They were only halfway through their escape when Apprentice 28 suddenly motioned, “Apprentice 49, hold up. Stop the
boat.”
Apprentice 49 was nearly in tears. “Leeanne, we just swiped Bob’s wood. Is he gonna crack my skull open!”
