Hearing the noise from the tank, Leeanne spun around just in time to see water splashing everywhere, some of it landing on the floor, tinted pale red with blood. Fish scales and fins floated on the surface, making the scene even messier.

It was like a crime scene straight out of a thriller.

Leeanne hurried over and found most of the fish in the tank dead, their bodies and scales scattered everywhere, torn apart in a chaotic mess. The water was thick with blood and bits of scales.

Only a single blue glow shrimp remained, its body radiating an eerie, ghostly blue light.

That thing’s the killer, Leeanne thought, her heart pounding.

She stared at the blue glow shrimp, suddenly realizing just how fierce and hottempered it really was.

She snatched up the lid, planning to cover the tank, but the blue glow shrimp sprang out before she could even react.

It curled up and hopped away, making loud poppop sounds as it bounced straight toward the edge of the raft.

Crap, it’s trying to escape!Leeanne thought, her heart racing.

Just as she was about to chase after it, in a blur of white, the seal pup hopped onto the raft, grabbed the blue glow shrimp in its mouth, and gulped it down in one swift motion.

The pup froze for a second, like it was relishing the flavor of the blue glow shrimp.

While the seal pup was still dazed, the Sea Demon Vine lashed out its vines and wrapped it up tight.

The seal pup cried out urgently at Leeanne, Woowoo, woowoo!

It was saying, More! Gimme more!

Leeanne walked over, crouched down, and poked its chubby body. Was it tasty? Want more?

The seal pup yipped, Woowoo, so tasty, want more!

Leeanne smiled. Nope, these are mine. If you want some, you’ll have to trade me a treasure!

The seal pup whined, Woowoo, no treasure!

Leeanne looked into its wet, sparkling eyes and almost believed it, but she quickly came to her senses.

This little rascal is always stealing things. There’s no way it doesn’t have some treasure hidden away, she thought.

Back when she ran into it on Robin’s boat, this little thief had something in its mouth.

Leeanne held firm to her suspicion. Go get it, or you won’t get any blue glow shrimp!

The seal pup kept whining and yipping, but Leeanne just ignored it, acting like she couldn’t understand a word.

Finally, she heard the seal pup say, Let me go, I’ll get it!

Leeanne raised her hand. Sea Demon Vine, let it go.

The Sea Demon Vine complained, If we let it go now, we won’t be able to catch it again.

It was really hard to catch it this time.

Leeanne said. Don’t worry. If it wants shrimp, it’ll definitely come back.”

These blue glow shrimps were so fierce, and they had to be super good for the seal pup. Otherwise, it wouldn’t risk jumping onto the raft just to snatch one.

The seal pup nodded nonstop, yipping, Yeah, shrimp! I want shrimp!

As soon as Sea Demon Vine let go, the seal pup wiggled free and slid right into the sea.

While the seal pup was out, Leeanne quickly moved the blue glow shrimp into another wooden chest, made sure it had enough ventilation, and secured the lid. She left just five blue glow shrimp in the original tank.

Blue glow shrimp were bigger than common shrimp, so two pounds only came out to eighteen in total.

Leeanne only planned to use five for the exchange.

She noticed that the blue glow shrimp in the warm plastic box were still limp and barely moved. When she picked them up, they just gave a weak little tremble.

They looked halfdead.

Leeanne suddenly had a thought. Maybe these shrimps actually like the cold and hate the heat. When it’s hot, they lose their energy and aggression, but once things cool down or return to normal, they get their fighting spirit back.

That would explain why they were kept in hot water.

She poured some hot water into a wooden basin, put the five shrimp inside, then covered the box and tucked it back into her backpack.

After a few minutes, the seal pup poked its round head out of the water, holding a bead in its mouth.

It scrambled onto the raft and spat out the bead. Woowoo, treasure! Shrimp trade!

The bead was waterblue, a bit smaller than a ping pong ball, and transparent. Nothing seemed special about it.

Leeanne picked it up.

[Unknown bead: Just a bead, round, blue, and transparent. Who knows what it’s for? Maybe it’s just a plastic bead? Maybe you should just throw it away?]

Is this what passes for a treasure?Leeanne thought, rolling her eyes.

Ugh, could the seal pup be so unhygienic? Why is the bead all sticky?

Leeanne examined the bead from every angle, but nothing seemed off, except for a few cracks running along its surface.

Wait, is this thing about to split open?she wondered.

Suddenly, Little Blue yelled, Leeanne, your shrimp!

Leeanne snapped her head back.

The seal pup had somehow managed to climb up and was chomping down on the shrimp in the wooden basin, crunching them up one after another until the whole thing was cleaned out.

As soon as it saw Leeanne turn around, its chubby body flopped with a loud smack and tumbled right off the raft.

It made a run for it.

At the same time, Leeanne heard a faint cracking sound. She looked down at the bead in her hand.

The waterblue bead had broken apart.

It split into two pieces, with one half completely crumbling into tiny shards.

What the heckLeeanne thought, stunned.

She hadn’t even used any force.

Even a glass bead wouldn’t break this easily. This thing was such a piece of junk.

Wait, I’ve been scammed!Leeanne thought, realization dawning.

The bead was already cracked before, and it must’ve been stuck back together with something, probably the seal pup’s drool. No wonder it felt so sticky when she got it.

Eww, gross!Leeanne thought, feeling a wave of disgust.

Leeanne set the broken bead half on the raft and looked up at the seal pup not far away.

Right then, the seal pup popped its head out of the water, proudly showing off its fancy vine necklace, and flashed a cheeky grin.

The seal pup yipped, Woowoo, woowoo!

It was saying, Haha, haha!

That little rascal!Leeanne fumed.

It looks like an adorable pet, but it’s got more tricks and schemes than a villain in a drama!

It really deserves a good smack!

Leeanne gritted her teeth, washed her hands, and then pulled out the big fishing net she’d gotten from Robin.

She didn’t know how to fix it herself, but she could just have someone else do it for her.

Leeanne called out, [Hey, does anyone know how to fix a fishing net?]

Wherever Leeanne showed up, things always got lively. Players started chiming in right away.

[Lecanne, if you just want to catch some fish, a small fishing net is enough. Don’t mess with the big one. That thing’s trouble, You might even pull up a shark!]

[Yeah, I’ve got a big net too, but I don’t even dare to use it anymore.]

[Fixing a fishing net takes real skill. Most newbies wouldn’t have a clue how to do it.]

Emmett sent her a private message: [Leeanne, seriously, don’t waste your time or money hiring someone to fix the net! Just let Gideon handle it. He’s got this!]

Leeanne replied: [He can fix the big net too?]

Emmett: [Absolutely! That guy can do anything. Just give it to him and let him work his magic.]

Leeanne hesitated.

Gideon was super strong, but last time he scrubbed Emmett’s shoes, he ended up wrecking them. If I let him fix the net, will he just wreck the net too?she wondered.

Emmett: [Don’t worry! He’s got the blueprint for the big net, so he can patch it up at the crafting table.]

Leeanne fell silent.

All that fuss for nothing, I can’t believe I forgot about the crafting table, she thought.

Gideon sent her a private message: [Send it over, I’ll fix it!]

She sent the big net to Gideon right away, and in less than three minutes, he sent it back, all patched up.

Leeanne had no clue how to use a fishing net, so she just threw the big net out in the spot where the seal pup always hung around and didn’t bother with it anymore.

Sadly, after that, the seal pup was nowhere to be seen.

Leeanne decided to keep the blue glow shrimp as bait for the seal pup.

One day, she would catch the seal pup and beat it up.

Lucas and his disciples were about to wrap up their journey, and Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49 were getting ready to head back.

Leeanne really didn’t want to see them go, so that night, she whipped up a huge feast to make sure Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49 left with their stomachs stuffed.

After dinner, Apprentice 23 and Apprentice 49 finally left, glancing back again and again, clearly not wanting to say goodbye.

The wooden boat, once bustling with activity, now felt empty and quiet. Leeanne gave it a thorough cleaning, making sure everything was spotless, then finally went to get some rest.

The next morning, Leeanne woke up bright and early.

Today, the second batch of players was about to arrive.
