Now, the other players got fired up.
[That’s right! Everyone, remember, this is a survival game!]

[Exactly! After all this time, two–thirds of the first batch have already been knocked out. Haven’t you gotten used to how ruthless this game can be?]
[Survival games are for the brave. Come on, let’s keep pushing!]
[If someone’s family is still here, it means they have some ability to protect themselves, and their family members are in decent physical condition too.]
Vanessa explained, [Yeah, we’ve looked into it. Most of those who stayed are either in their fifties or sixties, or over fifteen, and they’re all in pretty good shape. Not much different from how we were when we first arrived.]
Everyone was finally fired up.
Leeanne thought for a moment, then said to Maeve, “Grandma, your constitution is looking pretty good now. If we keep eating Tier 3 beast meat, you’ll be able to outmuscle me soon!”
Then she remembered she still had a Power Spirit Fruit. She gave it to Maeve and told her to eat it.
Over the next few days, she planned to gather or trade for some attribute–boosting fruits. With those, Maeve’s strength would definitely skyrocket.
In the chat channel, some players were hyping everyone up, urging them to gather supplies and boost their family’s strength. Among them, Vanessa and Felipe really stood out.
It was probably Enrique’s suggestion.
No one would have thought that the sly merchant Enrique could be so thoughtful.
A few hours later, the game sent out another announcement.
[Announcement: To help everyone gather supplies and quickly boost your own and your family’s constitution stats, we’re rolling out the following updates.]
[1. Islands will show up more often. Hop on and start your adventure!]
[2. Ocean exploration is now open! When you defeat Tier 3 or higher monsters, they might drop treasure chests. Inside, you could find ocean explorer gear. Once you snag the gear, you can dive in and start your ocean adventure!]
[3. Ocean explorer gear includes: breathing masks, wetsuits, swimsuits, flippers, deep–sea vests, underwater lights, harpoons, and more.]
[4. Just a heads–up: The ocean’s packed with treasures that’ll make you stronger!]
[Co explore and find out for yourselves. Enjoy the game!]
The announcement was jam–packed with info, and everyone stared at their screens for ages before a few folks finally started chatting.
[Ocean exploration? No way, count me out. I totally freak out in water!]

[Hey, that’s pretty awesome! We finally get to dive in. Before, the game blocked us. Go in the water and you’d instantly get munched by a swarm of monsters. Does this mean it’s safe now?]
[Come on, you really think the water’s monster–free? There’s no way. It’s just not quite as insane as before, that’s all.]
I heard there’s stuff in the ocean that’ll seriously boost your constitution, and fast.]
[Well, if the announcement says so, the secret has to be hidden either on the islands or somewhere underwater.]
[Come on, let’s check out the ocean explorer gear!]
Everyone hurried over to take a look:
[Breathing Mask: Lets you breathe underwater. Wear it and you can explore for up to six hours straight.]
[Deep–Sea Vest: Keeps you safe from deep–sea pressure. Strap it on and you won’t have to worry about getting crushed. But be careful, the deep is packed with monsters!]
[Harpoon: The ultimate weapon for fighting underwater, great for taking down sea creatures. But, it all depends on how good you are!]
[Wetsuit or Swimsuit: Helps you move faster in the water!]
[Flippers: Makes you swim even faster!]
[Underwater Light: Lights up the underwater world!]
Leeanne scanned the list quickly.
The breathing mask and deep–sea vest were essentials. The wetsuit and flippers were just bonuses. She could skip them, but she’d be slower in the water.

The harpoon wasn’t needed if you were just trying to get away.
Still, it’s always better to be fully geared up.
Once everyone finished reading, the chat blew up with comments.
[This looks pretty solid! A breathing mask that lasts six hours? Now I’m not so scared.]
[The deep–sea vest can handle the water pressure? Nice!]
[Honestly, with all this gear, diving in doesn’t seem so bad. Just swim fast, and if a monster pops up, bail back to the boat.]
[Easy for you to say, but don’t let the announcement fool you!]
[So we gotta head to the islands and take on Tier 3 beasts, right? Kill them, let our families eat the meat to boost their constitution, and maybe score a treasure chest while we’re at it. Sounds good!]
[Taking down a Tier 3 beast will nearly kill you. One slip–up and you’re dead. Even then, you might not get a treasure chest, and even if you do, you might not find any explorer gear inside. And if you do get lucky, it’ll probably just be one item. So yeah, it’s pretty tough…]
[Wow, you’re really pessimistic!]
[Seriously, what’s with all the complaining? We’re here to risk it all. Hard or not, we gotta give it a shot!]

Nicole: [Alright, I’m selling wetsuits, dive lights, air tanks, and other diving gear! If you want any, better act fast!]
It was the guy who’d just been showing off about how his daughter brought a whole stash of diving equipment.
Nicole: [Sure, it’s not as fancy as the stuff you get from the game, but if you’ve got some diving experience, it’ll do the job. If you can’t score the in–game gear, this is your backup. Not many sets left, so don’t wait!]
Vanessa: [Nicole, private chat!]
Once Vanessa chimed in, everyone else followed suit, messaging Nicole to ask about prices.
After all, nobody knew how often the in–game diving gear would actually drop.
If they waited too long, it’d all be gone.
Nicole was swamped, and his prices were sky–high.
Leeanne had already taken out her Water Repelling Pearl. With this, she didn’t need any ocean explorer gear at all.
With the Water Repelling Pearl, she didn’t have to worry about oxygen, underwater pressure, or any six–hour time limit. She could explore as long as she wanted.
This was incredible.
Moreover, she had her Advanced Harpoon Launcher. She could dive in right now if she wanted.
That little seal hadn’t shown up since it left. Maybe if she went underwater, she’d run into it again and give the little guy a playful scare.
Leeanne was raring to go.
When Maeve heard Leeanne was planning to go underwater, she couldn’t help but worry. Sure, Leeanne could swim, but she’d never actually dived into the open ocean before.
Leeanne said, “Grandma, how about this? I’ll follow a rope down, and when I’m done, I’ll just climb back up. That way, I’ll be safe, right?”
Actually, Sea Demon Vine’s tendrils could go underwater too, so Leeanne was just making double sure.
After all, this was her very first time diving into the deep sea.
Maeve knew that taking risks was just part of the game here, so she quickly agreed.
Leeanne grabbed a long, thick rope from her storage chest and tied it securely to one of the pillars on the deck.
She fastened it to one of the villa’s support pillars which was sturdy enough.
The rope was about twenty meters long, more than enough for her needs.
She was just a newbie who’d only ever swum in a 1.6–meter–deep pool. Honestly, if she could make it down five meters, that’d be a win.
The Water Repelling Pearl was a bit tricky to carry around, so Maeve, ever thoughtful, grabbed her sewing kit and carefully stitched a tiny pouch for it. She tied a string to the pouch, making it just right for Leeanne to hang around her neck.
Leeanne grabbed her Advanced Harpoon Launcher, hung the Water Repelling Pearl around her neck, and was all set to dive

Maeve pointed at her clothes. “That outfit looks like it’s made of cotton. If it gets wet, it’ll weigh you down. Maybe you should change?”
Leeanne glanced down at her clothes.
She was wearing her Invincible Suit. It was waterproof, fireproof, and wouldn’t get soaked at all, so she wasn’t worried.
She explained it to Maeve, then grabbed the rope and made her way to the edge of the water.
Little Blue, Snowy, and Fluffy saw Leeanne getting ready to dive in, and all gathered around her, their eyes full of curiosity and worry.
Unfortunately, while they could soar through the skies and roam the land, the water was strictly off–limits for them.
Leeanne secured the rope around her waist, gave it a good tug to make sure it was snug
and safe.
Then, out of instinct, she took a deep breath and jumped into the ocean.
‘Wait, why am I taking a breath?‘
