[Broken piece of paper: Just a piece of paper, looks pretty crappy. Did you fish this out of the dumpster? Seriously, you want this?]

[Fortune’s Favor is active today! Want to use it to repair this item?]

Yes!Leeanne replied.

[Repair successful! You’ve obtained the Coral Island Treasure Map!]

Leeanne received a treasure map, about the size of a regular sheet of paper. She spread it open and saw it was a detailed map of an island.

Red, green, and yellow dots showed where the treasures were hidden.

And at the bottom, there were notes about the important treasures.

One of them really grabbed Leeanne’s attention.

[White Marble Everleaf: A spirit herb said to prolong life and rejuvenate the mind. Eating it boosts your vitality. It ripens only once every 49 years, and will wither away three days after ripening, so you have to harvest it fast.]

This is a real treasure, Leeanne thought.

In legends, Everleaf was said to grant eternal youth. Of course, this one probably wasn’t that miraculous, but it would still be a blessing for the elderly.

Leeanne pored over the Coral Island Treasure Map for ages, and found several treasures listed on it.

But where exactly is Coral Island?

There wasn’t a single hint or direction on the map.

In the survival world, there were endless islands, like Snowy’s homeland, which was already Island No. 1699. With so many out there, she didn’t know how she was ever supposed to track down Coral Island.

If she had another primitive island entry pass, maybe she could pull it off.

But no one had ever managed to get one of those.

Leeanne stared at the map for a long time, racking her brains for a solution, but nothing came to mind. Helpless, she just rolled up the blueprint and put it away.

Step by step. Take it slow, I’ll find a way sooner or later,Leeanne reassured herself.

Now that she’d used up all three of her Fortune’s Favor chances, Leeanne put the dirty bone away.

Then she opened the chest.

In the afternoon, she strolled through the trading hall, picked up some spatial stones and cloth, and expanded her backpack by over twenty slots in one go.

That evening, Leeanne and her grandmother cooked together, whipping up four dishes.

After dinner, they settled into her grandmother’s cozy room and chatted away until after nine. Once they’d finished, each

washed up and headed to their own rooms for the night.

Maybe it was because her grandmother was around, but Leeanne could finally unwind a bit.

The next morning, Leeanne slept in until nine again.

She couldn’t be bothered with breakfast, so she just stayed in bed and pulled up the chat panel to check the latest updates.

Right now, the portal to the other world was vanishing. After a whole day and night of discussion and reflection, only a handful of people reconsidered and made a new choice.

The vast majority decided to stay.

It was simple. They just wanted to be with their families, no matter how tough things got or how dangerous it was.

The chat panel was buzzing with relief.

[My dad is so clever! When he came over, he brought me a bag of flour and a little pack of bean seeds. Now I’ve got food!]

[My mom brought me a big bag of cured meat!]

[My dad brought me a huge stash of frozen stuffed pasta and buns, all stuffed with chives and eggs. Haha, I’ve been eating so much meat lately. I’m honestly getting tired of it!]

[Man, my clueless son is seventeen and all he lugged over were a bunch of down comforters and seven fully charged phones. He didn’t even think about bringing any food!]

[My daughter just turned eighteen today, and she’s super thoughtful. She stocked up on survival supplies, brought several sets of wetsuits, goggles, air tanks, diving lights, plus fishing nets and compressed biscuits.]

[Lol, your daughter is definitely prepared, but what’s the point of all that diving gear? Nobody’s brave enough to dive in anyway. The game won’t even let you go into the sea!]

[Yeah, total waste of backpack space! You should’ve brought something else instead!]

People were chatting away in the channel, happy to be spending time with their families. The atmosphere was buzzing.

Leeanne watched the chat for a bit, then grabbed breakfast and taught her grandmother how to use the chat panel.

She figured this way her grandmother wouldn’t feel bored. These days, chatting online was pretty much the only fun thing left.

At ten in the morning, the game suddenly posted two announcements.

[1. In seven days, temperatures will drop sharply, and storms and volcanoes will hit hard. Make sure you’ve got your survival plans and supplies ready!]

[2. Fifteen days from now, the first Great Hunt begins. Districts 1, 5, 8, 13, 15, 19, 23, 26, 29, and 33 will be thrown into a chaotic showdown. All first batch players must join, while second batch players can choose to participate. Gear up and brace yourselves for the challenge!]

[Good luck and have fun!]

As soon as the announcements dropped, the chat channel, which had been buzzing with excitement, instantly exploded with complaints.

[My family just got here, and now they throw a Great Hunt at us? Seriously, what a buzzkill!]

[Didn’t we already have a hunt before? Why are they calling this the first one? Is the game losing its mind or something?]

[Did you even read the announcement? This is the Great Hunt. Last time was just a district hunt, basically a minihunt!]

A tenzone battle? Man, that’s going to be a lot of people!]

[Ten districts? I wonder if I’ll get to see my wife. I just hope she’s still alive.]

[With ten districts, the chances of meeting family are way higher, right? I’ve got five sisters, nine kids, plus all my brothers- inlaw. I’m bound to run into at least one of them. Can’t help but feel a little excited about it!]

[I miss my dad too. He’s only 49. Who knows, maybe I’ll actually get to see him.]

The chat quickly shifted from the upcoming weather to the Great Hunt.

Players were way more interested in that, but soon, someone started to worry.

[My mom’s 68. If she has to join the hunt, that’s basically a death sentence!]

[Hey, did you even read the announcement? Second batch players can choose whether to join or not. They made that clear in the very first game announcement.]

[Yeah, make sure you read the announcements carefully!]

When the Great Hunt announcement popped up, Leeanne suddenly thought, I wonder which district Ronnie ended up inMaybe I’ll get to see him during the Great Hunt

The chat channel was buzzing with activity, and even after half an hour, the discussion about the Great Hunt was still going

strong.

Finally, someone couldn’t hold it in anymore. [The Great Hunt means people are gonna die. Doesn’t that freak you out at all? Honestly, shouldn’t we be more worried about the first announcement? Extreme cold is coming. A lot of people died during the last cold snap, and this time, it’s gonna be even colder, and probably deadlier!]

Another person spoke up, [Yeah, the biggest thing is, we’ve been here longer, so maybe we’re tougher now. But what about our families who just got here? Their stats just aren’t up to par!]

The chat channel went quiet.

Everyone had thought about this before, but they’d just ignored it. Now, after hearing these two bring it up, everyone started feeling anxious.

Vanessa: [We’ve got seven days. That’s plenty of time to stock up on supplies, get some warm gear, or help our families improve their constitution!]

Felipe: [Exactly! Remember, the cold snap hit us on the third day last time. Now we’ve got way more resources, so there are tons of ways to boost our familiesconstitution. It’s way easier than before!]

Vanessa: [Yeah, eating beast meat, especially from Tier 3 beasts. It can really improve constitution. I tested it myself, totally works!]

Due to what they said, players started to feel hopeful again.

Indeed, after all this time, the ones who stayed behind were basically the elites. They had got plenty of resources and gear now, so helping their families boost their constitution shouldn’t be a problem.

Still, some folks were nervous. [Tier 3 beasts are just too hard to kill. I’m afraid I’ll get myself killed.]

Vanessa: [Afraid of dying? You still can’t handle a Tier 3 beast? Ever heard of teaming up? If you’re such a coward, how are you supposed to protect your family? If you can’t even do that, why bother letting them stay here at all?]
