‘Delicious? A porcupine?‘ Leeanne thought, her eyes lighting up.
She immediately asked, “Where is it?”
Little Blue flew up into the air. “It’s right where it first dug the hole. Oh, no, it went back in.”
‘It went back in? Awesome! This couldn’t be better, Leeanne thought.
Leeanne quickly told Little Blue, “Stay at the entrance and block it. If it pops out, stop it right away.”
Then she called out to Snowy, “Come on, turn around.”
They had just exited the tunnel, so going back in from here would be faster.

Leeanne rushed in with Snowy, quickly reaching the wider area where the Quicksand Trap had blocked off both tunnel
entrances.
As soon as she burst in, she spotted the porcupine trapped in the quicksand.
“Aww, hmm, hmm!” The porcupine was squealing in panic, frantically kicking its four paws as it cried out nonstop.
At the same time, its body was sinking deeper and deeper.
The Rapid Feather Arrow that had been lodged in its neck was gone, leaving only a wound spurting blood.
It kept howling and thrashing, struggling desperately to break free.
Leeanne readied her horn bow, nocked three arrows, and fired them off one after another.
The porcupine, stuck in the quicksand, didn’t stand a chance against any of them. Its cries were so loud and miserable, they nearly shook the whole tunnel.
“Aww!” The porcupine suddenly let out a sharp, piercing howl. With a desperate burst of strength, it managed to escape the Quicksand Trap, gave Leeanne a fearful glance, then spun around and ran off.
It raced back toward the tunnel entrance it had just used.
Leeanne and Snowy leaped over the Quicksand Trap, chasing after the giant porcupine.
“Aww, hmm, hmm!” Outside the entrance, the porcupine let out another howl.
Little Blue cheered, “Leeanne, I blinded it. It’s blind now.”
Leeanne and Snowy dashed to the entrance, just in time to see the porcupine bolting down the hill.
Blood was gushing from several wounds in its body, but it acted as if it felt no pain, desperately running for its life.
Maybe its eyes were injured, because it was stumbling everywhere, crashing into trees and rocks, looking like a total mess.
Little Blue flew overhead, keeping its eyes locked on the porcupine.
Leeanne and Snowy chased after it.

Even though the porcupine was badly wounded, it was still sprinting like crazy. Leeanne and Snowy kept after it for more than ten minutes before it finally slowed down.
“Thud!” It slammed into a ten–foot–tall stone wall, let out a long howl, and collapsed to the ground.
It was barely alive, just clinging to life.
Leeanne and Snowy rushed over.
“Wow, a porcupine just crashed into the rock. Dad, look,” a sweet, lively voice called out.
“Bailey, stay back. That porcupine is high–tier,” a man warned.
Leeanne quickly caught up and saw a man and a girl standing there.
The man looked to be in his forties, about six feet tall, with a solid, muscular build and a steely gaze. Just from his appearance, one could tell he was clearly someone one wouldn’t want to mess with.
Beside him stood a girl, probably seventeen or eighteen. She was quite pretty, with smooth skin and big eyes. Her thicker eyebrows gave her a gentle look with a hint of boldness.
She bore a noticeable resemblance to the man next to her.
They both turned to look at Leeanne, clearly surprised.
Leeanne walked up to the porcupine and nudged it with her boot. It didn’t even twitch. It was stone cold dead.
[You have slain a Tier 4 Mutated Porcupine. Would you like to harvest it?]
Leeanne replied, “Yes.”
[Harvest successful. You’ve obtained: porcupine meat x20, porcupine hide xl, and porcupine teeth x2.]
Leeanne was speechless.
She suspected, thinking, “The game is totally ripping me off.
‘Seriously? With the porcupine this huge, I only get twenty pieces of meat? Even if the chunks are massive, that makes no sense at all.
And the porcupine has way more than just two teeth. Why do I only get two?‘
“Wow, you’re so awesome!” the girl called out.
Leeanne turned around and saw the girl gazing at her with sparkling, admiring eyes, practically starstruck.
The girl’s voice was clear and captivating, like a songbird’s melody.
Her eyes were full of spirit and confidence, absolutely radiant.
Leeanne gave her a nod in return.
The man looked visibly excited as he stared at Leeanne. “Are you… Leeanne Dillion?”
Leeanne gave him a surprised glance.

The man quickly said. “I’m Callum Reynolds.”
The girl chimed in. “I’m Bailey Reynolds.”

Leeanne raised an eyebrow, thinking, ‘So it’s Callum. Bailey is the girl who brought a ton of breathing gear, right?”
Callum said happily, “Normally, there are only two groups on an island at most. Since it’s you here, we feel much more at
ease.”
With the possibility of two groups sharing the same island, everyone was a bit on edge.
They were worried about running into players who liked to kill and loot, or those sneaky backstabbers who pretended to be friendly but were actually plotting behind one’s back.
Just a little while ago, there was a drama in the chat channel. Two players met on an island, hit it off right away, and even teamed up to take down a beast. But as soon as they got their hands on a breathing mask, they turned on each other in a heartbeat.
One of them snatched the breathing mask and seriously injured the other guy. The poor guy barely managed to escape with
his life.
Callum was pretty tough, but he was always on edge, worried about running into someone even stronger. Now that he realized it was Leeanne, he finally felt at ease.Callum Reynolds
Leeanne nodded and said, “Thanks for the diving light. I’ll give it back as soon as I get my own.”
Bailey said, “You can keep it. We’ve got plenty.”
Bailey looked completely serious.
Suddenly, Snowy called out, “Master, hurry up! If you keep chatting, the treasure chest will disappear.”
Leeanne glanced over and spotted a tiny treasure chest right where the giant porcupine had been lying.
The chest had popped up right after she finished harvesting, but she’d been busy chatting with Callum and Bailey and hadn’t checked it out yet.
Snowy had been guarding it the whole time.
Callum looked genuinely surprised. “Man, you’re insanely lucky! You got a treasure chest to spawn right away. Bailey and I ook down more than a dozen beasts and only managed to get one chest.”
Leeanne walked over and opened the treasure chest.
Treasure chest opened. You’ve received: breathing mask xl, already stashed in your backpack.]
As soon as she opened it, the breathing mask flashed, and Callum couldn’t hide his envy. “Wow, you really hit the jackpot. Breathing masks are super rare.”
Honestly, it was a necessity.
A harpoon could be replaced with other weapons. Flippers were optional. A wetsuit could be switched for shorts and a short- sleeve shirt. A diving light was even more unnecessary. None was needed in shallow water.
As long as one had a breathing mask, one could start exploring the shallows without a problem.

Even with a diving tank, Callum still has to carry that heavy thing around, right?

Taking down that porcupine had really drained Leeanne, so she sat down to rest. Callum and Bailey quickly said their goodbyes and left.
Leaning against a tree, Leeanne opened her chat panel.
Trent Grimes: [Liam, you wait! I’m gonna hunt you down.]
Emmett: [Trent, you’ve been yelling for ages. That’s what you get for trusting people so easily. Seriously, almost everyone in the zone knows Liam never keeps his promises. How did you still fall for it?]
Trent: [He tricked me!]
Emmett: [Seriously, how could you be so dumb?]
Vanessa: [Come on, Trent, you had to know what Liam was like. Why’d you trust him? I heard you two hit it off. What did you even talk about to get so chummy?]
Felipe: [Seriously, what kind of person actually gets along with Liam?]
Trent: [Shut up, all of you!]
Vanessa: [Go ahead, try to mute me. Whatever!]
Felipe: [Everyone, remember one thing: birds of a feather flock together.]
Leeanne watched the whole thing go down and finally put the pieces together. She thought, ‘So Callum was talking about Liam earlier. No wonder things went down like that.
‘Liam can’t be trusted. Next time I run into him, I’ll deal with him on the spot.
Leeanne closed her chat panel and continued her adventure.
After another hour of searching with nothing to show for it, she sat down, planning to grab a bite and check the chat panel
while she ate.
Most of the chat was buzzing about diving gear.
Some players had scored wetsuits, flippers, harpoons, and all sorts of stuff. The chat channel was blowing up with excitement.
Just as she was about to close the chat panel, someone suddenly spoke up.
Bailey: [Dad, I just got a breathing mask.]
After saying that, Bailey probably realized something and went quiet.
Other players started bombarding her with questions, but she stayed silent.
Someone caught on. [Bailey’s new, isn’t she? Maybe she posted in the wrong channel by accident.]
[Bailey Reynolds? Could it be that Bailey Reynolds?]
