After a long moment, Bob struggled to ask, “What do you want? A deposit? Yeah, what kind of deposit are you looking for?”

Lecanne smiled. “All I want to know is, what happened to the treasure under your bed?”

Bob paused, then burst out angrily, “You? You’re the one who took my treasure!”

Lecanne replied calmly, “Wait, not me. It was empty when I checked. Didn’t you know?”

Bob snorted. “Of course, it was empty. I hid my stash. Otherwise, some sneaky thief would’ve cleaned me out.”

Leeanne didn’t even flinch. “Good call. So, that’s your deposit.”

‘After all that trouble and stress, there’s no way I’m leaving empty–handed,’ Leeanne thought, determined not to walk away with nothing.

Bob growled, “You’re still after my treasure.”

Leeanne waved her hand. “Alright, see you.”

She hurried out of the courtyard.

Apprentice 23 shook her head. “Mr. Bob, are you going to let Bob 13 die? So, in your eyes, Bob 13’s life isn’t even worth that tiny stash of yours?”

There was no way Leeanne could outrun Bob, but she wasn’t even trying. She strolled, taking in the scenery. When she spotted a plant she’d never seen before, she crouched down, dug up one, and carefully put it in her backpack.

Bob hurried over, just in time to catch her in the act.

He was absolutely furious.

Trying to keep his temper in check, Bob said, “Leeanne, fine. I’ll give you the deposit you want. It’s the treasure you’ve been looking for.”

She was a little lost, thinking, ‘This is gonna be tricky for Leeanne!

Leeanne asked sincerely, “Have you ever heard of Coral Island?”

Apprentice 23 shook her head. “Nope, but if the name’s anything to go by, I’d guess it has something to do with coral.”

Leeanne nodded.

Soon enough, Bob showed up with a box in his hands and handed it straight to Leeanne.
