Chapter 215
Leeanne kept her distance, asking cautiously, “What if it attacks me?”
Little Blue replied, “No. No”

Leeanne thought, ‘Manta rays are usually pretty gentle and don’t attack humans. But hey, this is a game world after all.
Leeanne waited for a bit. When she saw the manta ray just weakly flapping its head fins, looking miserable, and not making any moves, she finally walked over to take a closer look at its injury.
Finally, she reached out and gently pulled the hook from the manta ray’s pectoral fin.
The hook was made of steel, massive, and etched with the words “Seal Hunter Squad.”
‘What the heck is a Seal Hunter Squad?‘ Leeanne thought.
Blood gushed from the manta ray’s wound. Without hesitating, Leeanne stuffed the hook into her backpack, grabbed a packet of healing salve, and sprinkled it over the injury.
She was giving it a shot, but to her amazement, the healing salve actually did the trick. The wound started to close up, and the bleeding stopped.
Little Blue got even more excited, pawing at the manta ray’s severed pectoral fin and pleading, “Help. Help.”
Leeanne was silent.
She thought, “This wound is way too big. It’s completely severed.
The healing salve won’t do anything unless… I somehow reattach the fin
Wait, I could sew it back together.
Of course, that was Leeanne’s wild guess. She wasn’t a zoologist or a vet. She only remembered that her college professor was into fishkeeping.
Once, she even saw her professor perform surgery on a fish.
Might as well give it a shot, she thought.
Lecanne turned to Little Blue and said, “Little guy, hang tight. I’m gonna go and grab some stuff.”
Little Blue blinked, “Huh?”
Leeanne suddenly had an idea. “Actually, you’re way faster than me. How about you go? Swim over to my raft, ask my grandma for some wire and rope, and bring them back quick.”
Little Blue shot off immediately.
It was way faster than Leeanne.
Meanwhile, Leeanne quickly texted Maeve, asking her to grab a three–foot length of wire from Treasure Chest No. 10, then unravel the rope and twist it into a thinner rope, about as thick as the wire.
Maeve was super handy, so this kind of thing was a piece of cake for her.

Chapter 215
Before long. Little Blue came back, wire and rope clamped in its jaws.

Leeanne bent one end of the wire into a hook, tied the rope to the hook, then swam over to the manta ray. She turned to Little Blue and said, “This is gonna hurt a bit. Tell it to hang in there, alright?”
Little Blue immediately started chattering away, babbling to the manta ray.
Leeanne noticed the manta ray gently nudging her with its injured pectoral fin.
This manta ray’s so big, it’s got some real intelligence now. Looks like it’s cool with this,’ she thought.
Leeanne grabbed the wire needle she’d fashioned, lined up the two broken halves of the manta ray’s pectoral fin, and had Little Blue hold them steady while she stitched them up, one careful stitch after another.
She wasn’t sure if the manta ray felt any pain, but it just lay there, totally calm, and didn’t move at all.
At last, after more than half an hour, Leeanne had the fin stitched back together. She pulled out two packets of healing salve and dabbed them over the stitched–up area.
Finally, she clapped her hands. “Alright, little guy, check with your friend to see if it’s feeling better now.”
Little Blue chattered for a bit, then turned to Leeanne, beaming. “Thanks. It’s way better now.”
The surgery actually worked, Leeanne thought, a surge of accomplishment washing over her.
After all this ocean survival, she could do about anything now. Not only could she make medicine, but she could also be a
vet.
Little Blue pressed its head against the Water–Repelling Pearl’s Protective Bubble and said, “Thank you. Treasure. Treasure.”
Leeanne was thrilled. ‘Finally, the little guy’s figured out how to give me a treasure,‘ she thought.
The manta ray flapped its broad pectoral fins, let out two soft cries, and with a flick of its long tail, headed deeper into the
ocean.
Leeanne scooped up Little Blue, hugged it to her chest, and followed the manta ray down.
The manta ray stopped beneath a cluster of coral, swished its tail, and that’s when Leeanne spotted a tiny treasure chest tucked among the coral.
She lit up, realizing this was the manta ray’s way of saying thanks.
Nice, this manta ray gets it. It is not like Little Blue, Leeanne thought.
Leeanne walked over and opened the treasure chest.
[Treasure chest opened! You’ve got 6 Oxygen Tablets.]
[Oxygen Tablets: Put them inside your breathing mask for a steady stream of oxygen. Each tablet lasts 6 hours.]
‘So that’s it, Leeanne thought. ‘No wonder the breathing mask only works for six hours. One needs to change out the oxygen
tablets.
‘With everyone itching to dive and explore, six hours isn’t enough. These are super valuable.
‘This manta ray is generous.

Leeanne collected the Oxygen Tablets and the treasure chest, then swam up to the shallows.
There, sunlight poured down, and she could see everything nearby. She felt much safer here.

Leeanne turned to Little Blue and asked, “Do you know where there’s any weird or special coral around here?”
Little Blue immediately swam over to the manta ray, chattered away for a bit, then hurried back. “Yeah, it’s asking around.”
The manta ray suddenly let out a series of low, rumbling calls. The sound wasn’t loud, but it seemed to carry for miles.
Not far away, dark shadows appeared, and a whole swarm of little manta rays swam over.
Then Leeanne heard a chorus of low, rumbling calls, like they were having a meeting. Finally, the giant manta ray said something to Little Blue.
Little Blue swam over, bubbling with excitement. “Yeah, there is. Let’s go.”
A small manta ray glided over, its tail gently brushing past Leeanne and Little Blue.
Little Blue immediately followed after it, calling back to Leeanne, “Come on. Come on.”
Leeanne grinned and swam after them.
Before long, they reached a shadowy stretch of ocean, so dim that the diving light barely cut through the gloom, revealing only hints of what lay ahead.
There was a massive field of coral shaped like chrysanthemums, in shades of yellow and red, stretching endlessly into the distance.
Winding through the coral was a narrow path, just wide enough for one person. Leeanne followed it for about ten yards, but up ahead, she ran into what felt like an invisible wall. No matter what she did, she couldn’t get through.
‘Is this it?‘ Leeanne thought, feeling a surge of excitement.
She kept trying different ways around, but no matter what she did, she couldn’t get past this spot.
Little Blue and the guide manta ray chattered back and forth, then swam over. “So weird! Can’t get through.”
Leeanne turned and asked, “So you’re saying this place is strange and there’s no way through, huh?”
