Leeanne’s heart skipped a beat.

Before she could even pull out her fish spear, the great white shark lunged at her with its jaws wide open, snapping down with a loud crunch.
The Water–Repelling Pearl’s Protective Bubble trembled, and Leeanne dodged, moving ten feet away.
[Ding! The Water–Repelling Pearl has been attacked. Durability decreased by 1 point. Remaining durability: 100.]
Leeanne was startled again.
The Water–Repelling Pearl’s Protective Bubble wasn’t an Ironclad Fortress. If the attack was strong enough, it could actually harm the Water–Repelling Pearl itself.
She became extra cautious, grabbed her harpoon, and pulled the trigger. With a loud bang, the harpoon shot out and pierced the shark’s body with a wet thud.
With a crunch, the harpoon retracted, ripping out a large chunk of the shark’s flesh.
The shark let out a furious, pained roar.
The shark lunged forward and crashed into the Water–Repelling Pearl’s Protective Bubble with a thunderous bang.
Leeanne managed to dodge in time, so the impact only grazed her. But even then, she was knocked sideways, flying ten feet through the water.
This shark’s way too fast. I need to reach the surface right now,’ Leeanne thought anxiously.
She immediately swam upward, the great white shark chasing her relentlessly.
Leeanne pushed herself to the limit, and as the Water–Repelling Pearl’s Protective Bubble took another hit, she finally broke through to the surface. As soon as she was out, she released Snowy and Little Blue.
She turned back and struck at the shark again.
The shark was only ten feet long, but it was incredibly agile. With a quick twist of its body, it dodged the harpoon, and her shot missed its mark.
Snowy was already standing on the water’s surface, calling out to Leeanne, “Master, hurry up and get on.”
Leeanne jumped up and landed right on Snowy’s back.
But Snowy was so small that Leeanne could only stand on its back.
The shark roared and charged at them. Snowy dashed across the water, hooves pounding as it ran further away.
Leeanne quickly steadied herself, pulled out her Silver–Horned Bow, nocked a Feather Arrow, and fired several shots in rapid succession.
On the surface, she felt much more at case,
Snowy was moving so fast that the shark couldn’t keep up.
The Feather Arrow hit the shark’s body with a couple of wet thuds. 1/5

The shark roared in pain, rolling over and turning the water around it red with blood.
But it kept chasing them, as fierce as ever.

Little Blue swooped down from above, raking its claws over the shark’s wounds, shredding them to ribbons and leaving the water stained with blood.
Leeanne grabbed more Feather Arrows and fired three shots in rapid succession. The shark twisted desperately to dodge, but one Feather Arrow struck home, piercing its eye.
The shark let out several agonized roars, its fighting spirit shattered. It plunged downward and vanished into the sea.
That’s bad news,‘ Leeanne thought, feeling frustrated as the shark slipped away.
She dove after it without hesitation.
‘I almost had it. No way am I letting it escape now, Leeanne told herself:
Sticking close behind the shark, Leeanne jabbed her harpoon right into its tail, ripping off a massive chunk.
With its tail mangled, the shark slowed way down and started wobbling all over the place, barely able to swim straight.
Leeanne finally relaxed. With the shark moving like that, her getting away would be a breeze.
The Water–Repelling Pearl’s Protective Bubble was handy, but fighting inside its bubble always felt a bit awkward.
Sparking with inspiration, Leeanne grabbed her breathing mask from her backpack, slipped it on, then removed the Water- Repelling Pearl and stashed it inside her backpack.
Now, her body was in direct contact with the seawater.
Suddenly, she felt something amazing. Her speed and Agility had both shot up.
At last, her Red Phosphorus Leather Outfit were finally kicking in.
Leeanne raised her harpoon and, with a heavy jab, plunged it right into the shark’s tail.
The shark let out a pained roar, twisting its body in agony.
Blood poured out in streams.
Its tail had lost a chunk, and now another big piece was gone, which made it swim even slower.
This time, Leeanne didn’t pull the harpoon out.
The shark thrashed desperately, but Leeanne held onto the harpoon stuck in its tail and followed behind, barely breaking a
sweat.
The shark dragged her along for what felt like forever, slowing down more and more. It was exhausted from hauling her
around.
From all the blood loss, the shark was getting weaker by the second.
Now, it was moving way slower than Leeanne.
Once she figured the shark was weak enough, Leeanne yanked the harpoon free, pulled out her dagger, and slid it along the

shark’s belly. With a wet thud, the dagger stabbed into its snow–white belly.
The exhausted shark let out a roar and surged forward.
Leeanne gripped her dagger tightly.
The dagger slashed fiercely across its belly, tearing it open with a wet sound.
She gutted it right there.
Leeanne swam out from the shark’s tail.
That was intense!‘ she thought, her heart pounding.
A pile of messy stuff spilled out.
I’m totally savage right now, she thought, a wild grin spreading across her face.
The shark roared in agony, thrashing wildly in the water as blood churned and the stench of death filled the air.
Leeanne got out of there fast, putting some distance between herself and the shark.
A swarm of fish swam over, feasting on the shark’s flesh.
Leeanne wasn’t about to let them steal her prize. She dove right back in.

Congratulations! You are the first player in the world to kill a Tier 3 or higher marine creature. Your first–kill reward will be ent shortly!]
Leeanne replied, “Yes.”
Free rewards? No way I’m passing that up, Leeanne thought, a satisfied grin spreading across her face.
Sut after all that effort, it still took her forever to take down a Tier 3 marine creature. It proved that humans were
utmatched in the ocean.
On land, she could handle a Tier 3 mutated beast in no time.
lus, she was the first player in the world to slay a marine beast, another world first for her!
But honestly, it made sense. Most folks were still scrambling to collect ocean gear, and almost nobody had even gone underwater yet.
et alone fighting a great white shark!
Leeanne swam right up to the shark’s corpse.
Do you want to harvest the shark?]
Yes,” she said.
[Harvest successful! You received 20 chunks of great white shark meat, 2 pieces of shark skin, and 10 shark teeth.]
As expected, no matter how massive the beast, it always gave her 20 chunks of meat. Luckily, each chunk was pretty big.

She’d be eating well for a long time.
Leeanne immediately sent the shark meat to Maeve.
Worried that more man–eating fish might show up, Leeanne swam back up to the surface.
She was exhausted and wanted to rest.
She wasn’t far from her raft, so she swam back and took a break for a while.

After the fight, her leather armor was smeared with grime and blood. She washed up, scrubbed her clothes clean, and hung them out to dry.
While she was at it, she took a little break.
Lying back on her beanbag chair, she pulled up the chat screen.
The chat channel was a total mess. Turns out, she wasn’t the only one who’d run into sharks.
[I just jumped in the water, and a shark came out of nowhere. It chomped off my flippers. It scared the crap out of me. I bolted back to the surface.]
[Same here. Good thing I was quick.]
[I… I think I’m gonna die. The shark bit off my arm and my leg. I barely crawled back up. Maybe dying wouldn’t be so bad. I’m all alone anyway…]
[Help! Shark. Big shark.]
Someone said, [Good thing everyone made it out. I ran into a shark, too. It hurt my leg.]
Another person chimed in, [Did you even notice how many people are left online? The player count dropped by over a hundred in a few minutes. Guess the dead can’t chat.]
Leeanne finally realized the number of players in the chat was dropping fast.
Looks like most of them got eaten by sharks.
In just a short time, the player count had dropped by hundreds.
Anyone who got the news didn’t dare to keep exploring and rushed back to their rafts.
It had been a long time since players faced something this brutal, and the mood in the channel was heavy
Leeanne sighed and shut off the chat window.
Leeanne thought, ‘Wait, didn’t they say I got the first kill? And the reward’s coming soon?
‘Wonder what kind of reward I’ll get
Just then, a game notification popped up.
[Congratulations, Leeanne Dillion! You are the first player to kill a Tier 3 mutated great white shark and have received the first–kill reward!]
[First–kill reward: Ocean Bell.]
