Then she placed the remaining whole Everleaf into Snowy’s white marble treasure chest, which could freeze time to enable the White Marble Everleaf to stay fresh longer. After that, she ate the last eighth of the Everleaf.

As soon as she swallowed the Everleaf, a wave of heat surged from her lower abdomen, and sweat broke out all over Leeanne in an instant. The sea breeze was strong, so she quickly told Maeve to return to the bedroom and rest to digest the Everleaf.

Maeve saw it and said with a satisfied smile, “Awesome! Now I can finally make you some roast duck!”

Leeanne asked, puzzled, “Grandma, when did you learn how to make roast duck?”

Maeve replied with a proud grin, “I learned it myself! The beef stew too. I picked that up from watching cooking videos on your computer TV thingy.”

Leeanne was surprised. “You can actually do that?”

Maeve nodded enthusiastically. “Yep, there are all sorts of tutorials out there. I saw your duck eggs, so I’m planning to make an incubator myself and hatch some ducklings and chicks.”

Leeanne gave her a big thumbs–up. “Awesome, Grandma! You’re incredible!”

Keeping herself busy seemed to cheer Maeve up a bit. Even though it had only been a few days, Leeanne noticed her grandmother looked more lively, and her hair had even regained color.

That’s great!‘ Leeanne thought to herself.

Leeanne kept opening chests, found a bunch of spices and seasonings, and just put them aside for now. After cracking open a few more chests, Leeanne had her game plan ready. She packed up, gave Grandma a quick heads–up, and took out the Redbeak Island Entry Permit.

“Yes!” With a flash, Leeanne found herself on Redbeak Island. She was right outside the little courtyard. Just as she was about to speak, the door swung open, and Bob stepped out.

He looked grim, clearly in a bad mood. “Why are you here?” he asked.

Leeanne replied, I’ve got the White Marble Everleaf.

Bob exclaimed, “What? It’s only been a day, and you already got the White Marble Everleaf? You’re lying!”

Bob was about to blow a fuse. “You’re trying to lie and cheat me again!”

Leeanne quickly said, “Wait, Mr. Bob. I swear I’ve never lied to you!”

‘Oh no, poor Bob must’ve just been tricked by someone, Leeanne thought.

Bob was stunned. “Is that really the White Marble Everleaf?”

He darted toward Leeanne in a flash, but Leeanne had come prepared. She quickly hid the White Marble Everleaf behind her back and stepped away at the same time.

Leeanne raised an eyebrow, “Mr. Bob, are you trying to snatch it?”
