Chapter 245
Jessica: [He’s seriously handsome.]
:
Someone pressed: [Jessica, what’s his affection meter for you?]
Jessica replied: [Well… 1.]
Leeanne was stunned. Jessica was pretty and likable, yet she only had a 1.
“This merman prince is picky,‘ Leeanne thought.

Everyone started grilling Jessica for details. She said the merman prince totally ignored her and soon vanished on his shell.
After that, more than an hour passed, and no one else caught sight of the merman prince.
Or maybe, people just kept quiet about it.
Not everyone would share the information they had, after all.
By noon, Leeanne had eaten lunch with Maeve and was back to scrolling through the chat screen.
Suddenly, she remembered Little Seal.
Little Seal was still lying dutifully by the breeding tank, so dedicated it was almost scary.
Leeanne gave it a gentle pat and asked, “Bubby, do you know any mermaids?”
Little Seal suddenly jumped up. “No, I don’t know any.”
Leeanne was totally baffled. “Whoa, chill. Why are you freaking out? And wait, don’t you have many friends? Is there not a single mermaid in your circle?”
Leeanne suddenly realized that the merman prince wasn’t the only mermaid around. If she could find other mermaids, she’d be able to ask them about him.
Little Seal shook its head. “Nope, I don’t know any.”
Leeanne shook her head, looking disappointed. “Aw, if you could hook me up with a mermaid, I’d totally give you tons of shrimp.”
Little Seal didn’t even hesitate. “Nope, I don’t know any.”
‘Not even shrimp could tempt Little Seal? Maybe it really doesn’t know any,‘ Leeanne thought.
That made sense. Mermaids were rare creatures and hardly ever showed up. This merman prince had run away from home.
Leeanne lounged on her beanbag chair and reminded the sea demon vine to let her know if any mermaids

were spotted.
:
There was still nothing about the merman prince on the chat feed.

Then, out of nowhere, Emmett posted in the Assault Squad group chat. [I saw the merman prince.]
Leeanne shot up. [Seriously? Where? Where is he?]
Emmett: [I’m with Gideon, and the merman prince is staring at us. Wait, no, he’s totally checking out Gideon.]
Gideon: [Yeah.]
Emmett: [Argh, this is so unfair. Why does the merman prince have a -10 affection score for me? Is it because I’m chubby?]
Gideon: [Let’s move.]
Emmett: [Why? I’m not going, I’m not going, I’m not–oh crap, he just smacked me. Let’s get out of here.]
Leeanne quickly asked: [How’s it going?]
After a moment, Emmett was gasping for breath. [The merman prince smacked me. Why didn’t he hit Gideon? Is he just picking on the easy targets?]
Danelle: [Maybe you’re just ugly?]
Emmett: [I’m not ugly, okay? I’m just plump, plump, plump.]
Rodger asked keenly: [Gideon, what’s the merman prince’s affection meter for you?]
Gideon: [3.]
Danelle: [Gideon is rather good–looking, so why’s his affection score only a 3?]
Rodger: [Maybe he’s too intimidating?]
Danelle: [Oh, okay.]
Rodger: [So, if the merman prince’s affection score for you is positive, you don’t have to worry about being hit. But if the score is negative, you’d better be careful.]
Danelle: [I think so too.]
Spike grinned. [Looks like we don’t have to worry at all. The Spangler family’s got the looks.]
Danelle chuckled. [Leeanne’s totally safe.]
After chatting with everyone for a bit and checking the chat screen again, where there was still no sign of the merman prince, Leeanne finally closed it.

Chapter 215
Whenever she wasn’t busy with island events, Leeanne had plenty of free time. She napped on her beanbag chair, wandered around to check on her plants, and looked in on the chickens, ducks, and bunnies.
Eventually, she found herself lounging in the swing chair.
The sea demon vine noticed she was bored and thoughtfully waved its vines, rolling over a few chests for her.
These were chests the sea demon vine had hauled in
Now that the newbie phase was over, chests were way harder to fish up. Some folks could barely grab two a day, but Leeanne still managed to open five or six every day.
It was partly thanks to her Lady Luck buff and partly because the sea demon vine’s vines stretched super far.
Leeanne casually opened a chest.
[You opened a wooden chest and got 1 blueprint for a down jacket. You opened a chest and got I down comforter.]
Realization hit Leeanne. It’s a down loot day. I actually scored a down jacket blueprint? Leeanne thought.
She opened the blueprint.
[Down jacket: A long, warm coat made from duck down. Requires a sewing table to craft.]
Sewing table? There isn’t even any, Leeanne thought.
She flipped through the blueprint for a while before finally tucking it into her backpack.
After opening all the chests, Leeanne was bored again. She flopped back onto her beanbag chair, planning to scroll through the chat screen some more.
Suddenly, the sea demon vine shouted, “Master, check it out. Look what I just fished up!”
It carefully wrapped a glass bottle in its vines and set it down in front of Leeanne.
The sea demon vine said, “Master, this is the first time I’ve ever pulled up a bottle from the sea.”
Leeanne sat up and picked up the bottle. A description popped up. [The merman prince’s message bottle.]
Since the bottle was see–through, Leeanne could clearly see a rolled–up piece of paper inside.
‘Wow, message bottles? I haven’t seen one of those in ages, Leeanne thought.
She opened the bottle, shook out the paper, and unrolled it. In neat, elegant handwriting, it said: (Light blue is so beautiful. It’s the noblest color, the most sacred color. It’s my color. Deep blue? That’s evil and dirty, the color I hate the most.]
Leeanne stared at that cryptic message for a long time.
This note was probably written by the merman prince.

“The moody prince ran away from home. All alone and bored out of his mind, he scribbled little notes and tossed them into message bottles to relieve his sorrow,‘ Leeanne mused.
‘Ah, teenage angst. Guess the prince is into light blue, but totally hates deep blue. Alright, that’s my first clue. Time to tell the sea demon vine to try a new color!
Before she could say anything, the sea demon vine suddenly called out, “Hey, master! Come check this out.”
One of its vines shot out, pointing at something nearby.
Leeanne stood up.
Her boat was set up as a raft, flat and steady, giving her a clear view of the water.
Right there, she spotted a large, pristine white shell, and perched on it was a teenage boy, probably sixteen or
seventeen.
