Leeanne suddenly realized, so she said, “I only grabbed one roll. Luminara came back before I could take more.”
Bob grunted and took the Gold Silk Thread.
Leeanne handed him the harp as well.
Bob stomped off, still grumbling.
Apprentice 9 scoffed, “Seriously, he’s always in a bad mood, like someone owes him money or something.”
Apprentice 8 said, “You know how Bob is. Why bother getting mad at him?”
Apprentice 9 grinned, “If I didn’t mess with him, he’d just keep playing cards here. Would he ever go fix the harp for Lecanne?”
Apprentice 9 turned back and shot Leeanne a playful wink.
Leeanne smiled and pulled out some strawberries and grapes, setting them on the table next to her.
That way, Lucas and the others could easily help themselves.
The fruit was already washed, and they could eat it directly.
Then, she took out a bunch of golden mulberries and handed them to Apprentice 49.
Apprentice 49’s eyes lit up. “Wow, golden mulberries! I finally get to try them today!”
Apprentice 23 sat down, and the four of them got back to their card game.
Leeanne grabbed a chair, sat down to observe from the side, and opened the chat screen.
Sure enough, the players were still chatting about the merman prince.
[Man, so many people bumped into the merman prince today. Why is he popping up everywhere all of a sudden?]
[The prince can’t find any friends, and he’s getting cranky. Guys, it’s already day two. Aren’t you feeling the pressure?]
[I’ve been glued to the chat channel, and nobody’s managed to boost his affèction meter. We’re all stuck. Don’t tell me the apocalypse is coming the day after tomorrow?]
[Leeanne, Enrique, Rodger, Danelle, Gideon, and whoever else, come on, you guys gotta hustle! I’m just coasting, but you can’t slack off. If you do, I’ll start freaking out.]
[I just saw the merman prince. Why is he so cranky today?]
Someone dropped a screenshot of the merman prince, and Leeanne checked it out. He looked way grumpier than yesterday, his mood clearly tanking.
‘Gotta pick up the pace,’ Leeanne told herself.
From the chat, it was obvious the merman prince was popping up everywhere, so Leeanne figured running into him wasn’t a problem.

Chapter 256
Leeanne went back to her room and finally got a good night’s sleep. She didn’t wake up until the sun was already high overhead.
She headed over to the mystical cherry grove first and checked the system alert.
[Today’s luck boost in the mystical cherry grove is pretty mediocre. Note: Looks like you’re in for a rough day.]
‘Huh? Mediocre and unlucky?‘ Leeanne frowned. She’d never seen a notification like this before.
‘Guess I’d better watch my step today,‘ she thought.
Leeanne stepped out of her room, and a blast of cold air hit her face, making her take a step back.
‘Man, it’s freezing out here! When did it get so cold?‘ she wondered.
Then she remembered the temperature was supposed to drop today. There was an announcement about it earlier.
Maeve was already bundled up in several layers, bustling around on the deck. It was still a bit early for a down jacket, though.
Leeanne threw on a few extra layers herself. Her red scale leather jacket and pants were pretty warm, and with the Invincible Suit on top, she was good to go.
Leeanne went over and helped Maeve make breakfast, and they ate together.
She pulled out the seashell the merman prince had given her, turning it over in her hands, still unable to figure out its
purpose.
At nine in the morning, the seashell suddenly flashed with light, and a message appeared. [The merman prince, Elvis, invites you to the Cloudship Song Gala. Will you attend?]
‘A song gala? Seriously, is he actually going to judge who sings the best?‘ Leeanne thought, feeling a bit uneasy.
Still, she couldn’t say no.
Leeanne said, “I’m in!”
The seashell flashed white, and a message popped up. [Please attend Prince Elvis’s Cloudship Song Gala at 11 AM. Don’t be late. If you miss it, you’re out.]
‘So this seashell is basically a communicator, Leeanne thought. ‘But where is this Cloudship Song Gala, and how do I even get there?‘
The seashell flashed again. [Get ready, player. You’ll be heading to the Cloudship Song Gala in half an hour. Just follow the directions from the seashell, and you’ll get there.]
‘So it’s a navigator too, Leeanne realized as she touched the shell.
Just then, a game announcement popped up.
[1. The merman prince Elvis will be hosting the Cloudship Song Gala at II AM. All players with an affection meter above 10 are welcome to attend.]
[2. The top three players with the highest affection meter will get the chance to play music or sing with Prince Elvis.
[If any of the top three don’t show up on time, they’ll lose their spot, and the next player in line will take their place. The player who vibes best with the prince will earn his favor and receive a special gift.]

Chapter 256
[3. The current top six players with the highest affection meter are Leeanne, Ronald, Valentine, Bailey, Gideon, and Danelle.]
[Don’t miss your chance. Good luck and enjoy the game.]
As soon as the announcement dropped, the chat channel blew up again.
[Aha, the prince has finally learned to take the initiative and seek out friends! It just feels a bit odd, doesn’t it?]
[So what’s this about, a singing contest or something? If that’s the case, Bailey’s got it in the bag!]
[Are you dumb? Bailey doesn’t even get a shot at singing with the prince. She’s only in fourth place!]
[Oh no, then who among the top three has better singing skills? Ronald?]
[Seems like it. You guys probably haven’t heard Ronald sing, right? He’s actually got some serious pipes.]
[Who would’ve thought? Two people just quietly shot up the ranks. One’s Ronald, the total wimp, and the other’s this nobody Valentine.]
Everyone was talking about it. They were already numb to Leeanne always grabbing the spotlight, so now all eyes were on Ronald and Valentine.
Everyone was asking about who Ronald and Valentine were.
Ronald had a bit of a reputation. Some folks knew who he was. But Valentine? No one had even heard of him.
Ronald’s whole story got exposed in no time, including how he was always begging for help, hitting up Jessica for stuff, and basically just glued himself to her.
‘He was mooching off Jessica and loving it!‘ People couldn’t help but think.
They finally remembered this freeloading pretty boy.
Pretty soon, people started talking about Valentine instead.
[Hey, isn’t Valentine the guy who was selling those message bottles a couple of days back?]
[Yeah, that’s him. He cashed in big selling those bottles. Some folks say he’s a scammer, but nothing’s been confirmed. Maybe people are just jealous.]
Bailey said, [Valentine’s a scammer! All the info he sold was bogus.]
After a pause, she added, [Valentine, show yourself! I need to ask you, is the information you sold me wrong?]
Valentine replied, [It’s correct!]
Bailey then said, [See? He just admitted it!]
Valentine replied, [I said, my info was correct!]
Bailey gritted her teeth. If she hadn’t trusted Valentine and ended up doing a solo comedy routine in front of the merman prince, she wouldn’t have lost eight points for nothing.
‘If I hadn’t been docked those eight points, I’d definitely be in the top three right now. Valentine totally set me up! Bailey
fumed to herself.

She wasn’t about to let this go.

She said in the chat channel, [Valentine, I’m not the only one you scammed. Where’s everyone else? Speak up and expose this damn scammer!]
But nobody said a word.
Bailey was getting frantic. [Seriously, so many people bought Valentine’s info that day. None of you are pissed at him?]
Still, nobody spoke up. Instead, someone tried to calm Bailey down. (Hey, just let it go. It’s all water under the bridge. When it comes to information, it’s hard to say what’s true or false. We still need to rely on those guys in District 33.]
That only made Bailey even more pissed. [Rely on them? For what? Can they even sing? Valentine, do you even know how to sing? Are you better than me?]
Valentine sneered. [Who says I can’t be better than you?]
Bailey snapped, [I was the winner of last year’s big singing contest!]
Valentine replied, [Oh, you know exactly how you snagged that trophy, Bailey. Still remember Melody Newman?]
Bailey went quiet.
