Just then, Jared shouted in a panic, “Turn the raft! Quick, we have to get out of here!”

But there was no way they could outrun a man–eating shark.

Callum gritted his teeth. “Jared, let’s get in the water and kill it.”

Jared looked terrified. “Callum, just the few of us? We can’t handle it!”

Callum said, “Summon Zane over here, we’ll take it on together.”

Zane had already recovered from his injuries and was staying quietly on his own raft. He’d been behaving himself a lot mo lately.

He barely interacted with Callum and the others anymore.

When Callum summoned him, Zane thought they were heading to the island. He immediately got his gear ready and came happily.

But when he arrived, he was greeted by the sight of a man–eating shark thrashing wildly in the water.

Zane’s face drained of all color. “How did you guys get mixed up with this monster?”

Callum, who had just been splashed with seawater, said anxiously, “No more talking, hurry, let’s kill it together!”

Since they were already stuck here for 24 hours, Zane had no choice but to join forces with them. He was silently cursing them a thousand times over, but in the end, he still dove in.

The four of them battled the man–eating shark for a grueling hour, and finally managed to take it down.

Zane begged, “Callum, can you give me some more healing salve? My leg’s messed up.”

Callum sighed and gave him the healing salve in his hand.

Zane sat on the raft, head down, carefully applying healing salve to his wounds, trying to cover up the anger in his eyes.
