Leeanne quickly put away the shell and pulled Snowy over. “Quick, check on your friend. Is her wound bleeding again?”
Snowy was quick to respond, letting out a cry as it hugged the little mermaid.
While Snowy was clinging to the little mermaid, Leeanne stepped aside and spoke hurriedly into the shell, “Elvis, hurry! I’ve found your sister!”
She kept her distance, with something in the way, and spoke quietly, certain the little mermaid wouldn’t overhear.
But right after she’d let the merman prince know, she had no clue what Snowy and the little mermaid were talking about.
Suddenly, the little mermaid’s face fell. She spun around and dove into the sea with a splash.
She took off.
Leeanne was startled. “Quick, track her.”
Snowy tried to locate her, sounding anxious. “Sorry, Master. Mermaids are Advanced sea creatures. I can only track common ones.”
Yeah, that was true.
Leeanne started to panic.
If the mermaid was gone, Elvis showing up wouldn’t help at all!
‘Gotta go after her!‘ Leeanne thought.
She dove into the sea, racing after the mermaid.
Snowy blinked in confusion, then dove in after Leeanne.
Leeanne kept up the chase, but in less than a minute, the little mermaid was almost out of sight, even with her injury slowing her down a lot.
‘This can’t go on,‘ Leeanne thought.
The three–day deadline was almost here. She absolutely couldn’t afford to lose the little mermaid now.
Leeanne quickly pulled out her Speed Card and gave it a flick.
[Do you want to use the Speed Card?]
“Yes!”

Leeanne suddenly felt light as a feather. With a smooth push, she zipped through the water, covering a huge
distance in an instant.
‘Chase her!‘ Leeanne thought.
She kept after the little mermaid, not letting up for a moment.
The Speed Card boosted her speed threefold, and with all her best gear equipped, she was even faster.
With the little mermaid injured and slowed down, Leeanne finally managed to catch up.
But she was barely keeping pace–just hanging on.
She raced ahead for about ten minutes, the Speed Card boosting her all the way. During that time, she kept trying to reach the merman prince, but he never replied.
Leeanne was freaking out.
The Speed Card only worked for ten minutes. Once it wore off, she’d have no chance of catching up to the mermaid.
‘Come on, Elvis, what’s holding you up? Why haven’t you answered me all this time?‘ Leeanne thought.
She only had one Speed Card.
Leeanne was freaking out.
Finally, the ten minutes were up. Leeanne felt her body sink, her speed dropping like a stone.
‘It’s over!‘ Leeanne thought.
She stared at the spot where the little mermaid had vanished, then stopped, feeling totally defeated.
With a splash, she broke the surface, pulled out the shell, and let out a long, heavy sigh.
Suddenly, a voice called out, “Wow, you really managed to chase me all this way!”
Leeanne looked up to see the little mermaid surfacing, only her upper body above water as she eyed Leeanne warily. “So, what’s your deal? Why are you after me?”
To Leeanne’s surprise, the little mermaid had actually come back.
A flicker of joy crossed Leeanne’s face. Now she could keep the little mermaid from slipping away.
She thought, ‘But how am I supposed to do that? This little mermaid has a fiery temper, and for all I know, she might be tangled up with the Midnight Phantom.‘
Leeanne stayed quiet, keeping her eyes fixed on the little mermaid.

Chapter 270
With a nasty squelch, she stabbed the blade deep into the fourth–tier black shark’s belly.
She showed zero mercy.
She finished off the black shark in just a couple of quick stabs, letting its blood smear all over her arms and chest. Then, with a flip, she hopped onto the shark’s corpse and sat down.
She licked the blood from the corner of her mouth and gave Leeanne a cold, hard stare.
There was a kind of brutal elegance to her actions.
‘No wonder everyone says the little mermaid’s a beast. She really is!‘ Leeanne thought.
Leeanne and her pets would’ve had to fight that fourth–tier black shark for twenty minutes, but the little mermaid took it down in just a few strikes.
‘Damn, that’s impressive!‘ Leeanne thought.
She popped up out of the water and gave her a big thumbs–up.
A smug look flashed across the little mermaid’s face, but she quickly masked it. She said with a frosty tone, “Humans are always full of lies. I’ll let you off just this once. Don’t push your luck!”
With that, she vanished beneath the waves, slipping away like a fish.
Leeanne rushed after her, but it was hopeless. She couldn’t even catch a glimpse, the little mermaid was already long gone.
‘She escaped… again!‘ Leeanne thought.
