The Double Drop Buff Surviving The Endless Ocean novel Chapter 33

System: [Announcement: All players, listen up. In a few days, on Sea Calendar Day 10, the first Island Hunt begins.

[Everyone in this district will be teleported to a lush island loaded with resources, crawling with vicious beasts, and crawling with players who won’t think twice about stabbing you in the back.

[The hunt ends with a points tally. The top ten walk away with huge rewards.]

[Grind your stats, get real combat experience under your belt. The storm is coming, and the big shakeup is finally here.]

The chat channel went nuclear the second the announcement landed.

No joke, it’s dangerous as hell. Yeah, there’ll be resources everywhere, but also monsters that’ll tear you apart. You might pot something good and still end up as lunch.]

Did anyone else catch the worst part? Scheming players. We’re gonna run into each other out there. That’s code for traightup murder and looting.]

Man, this is scary as hell!]

Plenty of people were freaking out, but others were practically bouncing with excitement.

Myron Garcia: [Leanne, Rodger. If I find you two, you’re toast!]

Mick Garcia: [Nah, we’re coming for you on purpose. Heh heh, Leanne, you’ve got some pretty sweet stuff on that raft, ight?]

Myron Garcia: [Time to rack up some bodies!]

The Garcia brothers weren’t alone. A ton of players were already cooking up plans in the background.

jessica: [Everybody chill. Since we haven’t merged zones yet, I’m guessing resources will be way more spread out per person.]

Myron Garcia: [Lol, nice try, dummy.

Real talk though, let’s squad up. A tight group means we steamroll anyone running solo fim sitting on Strength 13, Constitution 15, Agility 13.

[My brother’s basically the same. Looking for people in our league. Slide into my DMs if you’re serious]

Mick Garcia: [Exactly. It’s Day 4 evening right now, so we’ve got five solid days until Day 10 Plenty of times tis vibe check each other, trade gear, and level up however we can then once we’re on the island we link up!

When people saw the brothers stats, a lot of them quietly backed off. Those numbers crushed ninety percent of the player base, honestly closer to ninetynine percent

Private messages started flooding the Garciasinboxes

[Announcement: Group chats are now unlocked!)

Myron Garcia: [Hah! The system’s basically handing us the W.J

24 65 vouchers

Mick Garcia: [Just wait. Especially you, Emmett. With all that extra weight? You’re not lasting five minutes out there.]

Ronald: [Can I join you guys? Myron, Mick?]

Myron Garcia: [Get lost, dude.]

Jocelyn Cross: [What about me? Can I join, Myron?]

Myron Garcia: [Well look who finally decided to speak up. You’ve been lurking this whole time while the rest of us have been chatting. Sorry, boys only.]

Pretty soon more heavy hitters were flexing their stats in public chat and looking for teammates.

Leanne’s private messages started stacking up.

Rodger: [Team?]

Jessica: [Leanne, come squad with me!]

Leanne had already been leaning toward teaming up. Her combat stats were still pretty low, and going lone wolf in an event like this would be asking for trouble.

Plus, after several days of chatting, she actually trusted a handful of people.

With almost everyone forming groups, staying solo felt like painting a giant target on her back.

She shot Rodger a quick reply: [I’m in.]

Jessica’s invite gave her pause. Jessica had a bit too much of that save everybodyenergy, which wasn’t exactly ideal when raw survival was the name of the game.

Rodger didn’t hesitate and added her to a group chat that already had Danelle in it.

Danelle: [Hey Leanne! Welcome to the crew!]

Leanne: [Still got room for one more? I wanna bring William in. His stats are solid across the board]

Rodger: [If you vouch for him, he’s good. Add him and let’s see what he’s packing.)

Leanne looped William in, and he was totally down. She pulled him into the chat right away.

William Granger: [Strength 16, Constitution 17. Agility 81

Rodger (Bro, your strength and con are higher than mine? Respect ]

Danelle: [Unlike a certain slacker Only weak link in the family, bubl

Rodger. [Hey, I’m perfectly balanced strength 15 Con 15. Agility 15, thank you very much!

William just lacked a bit on speed. Rodger was rock steady all around

Leeanne also shared her stats [Strength 9, Constitution 11. Agilay 91

That was after a couple of upgrades Before that, things were looking a lot worse.

PXX.

Danelle had Strength equal to William’s, but her constitution was a bit lower, and agility was her strongest stat.

Out of the four, Leeanne was definitely the weakest, with the lowest stats all around.

55 vouchers

But honestly? She wasn’t too bothered. There were still chances to improve. After all, she had Mystical Cherry Grove on her side.

Jessica had already formed her own team and invited Leeanne to join, but since Leeanne had already teamed up with Rodger, she politely declined.

While the others were busy forming squads, Leeanne shut off the chat window.

It was time for her to make the Horn Bow.

Horn Bow: [A ranged weapon. You’ll hit a target from a hundred paces away, maybe even further with some practice.

[Materials needed: Horn Bow blueprint xl, cow horn xl, cow tendon x1, wood x1.Do you want to craft it?]

Leeanne clicked Craft.

A series of metallic clinks filled the air as the crafting process began. A flash of white light shot from the workbench, and when it faded, a horn bow appeared before her.

[Today’s luck is off the charts. You’ve got some serious divine favor! Basic Horn Bow upgraded to Intermediate Horn Bow.]

[Intermediate Horn Bow upgraded to Advanced Horn Bow.]

[Advanced Horn Bow upgraded to Toptier (Perfect) Horn Bow.]

The system notifications kept pouring in, each one brighter than the last. White, green, red, and finally, an orange light flashed around the workbench.
